We had originally reserved a 15' truck & was sent to the wrong location. When we went to the Hershberger store, they didn't have a 15' truck available. As it turned out, there was a customer who had reserved a 10' truck, but was unable to use it due to the size for what he needed. We ended up getting that one. The manager did everything to work something out for us. He reduced the mileage rate from $1,19/mile to $.89/mile. Experience didn't start out well, but ended well. Merci.

Paul T.The van was poorly maintained and unsafe. The check engine light came on soon after I left the lot, and remained on or flashing throughout the rental. The van shook violently when accelerating or going uphill. The Service Traction Control message came on every few minutes, canceling the cruise control. The van had a strong smell of motor oil. I tried to switch equipment at a different location, but was told I couldn't do it.

I waited an hour and called back, and no action had been taken. The trailer was still shown out. The person on the phone immediately checked it in and all was well. Maybe more new employee training on important things like check in vehicles would be helpful.

Laura Jane R.Uhaul location at Salem Mini Mart in Salem VA did not have my trailer that I reserved in advance. They just told me to call customer service which was also no help because nobody was available to speak with on the phone. I was sent to another location nearby and the man there was extremely helpful. He drove to the Hershberger location and installed chains on a trailer just so I could use it. If not for him there wouldn't have been any trailers available even though I reserved one.

Deep P.Was horrible experience. First off was not location for pickup that requested. Spent over 8 hours on phone. Once picked up guy didn't know how to let me take and wasn't ready. Had to come back hours later. Return to pick up trailer after stopped a week before and morning of pickup to make sure no hiccups. Claimed containers there but weren't and had to come back yet again. Wouldn't recommend again. Tried to call to get partial refund but after 3x and 3 hours just stopped. Call if questions or if gonna refund for this horrible and time consuming experience

DANIEL M.Service is very slow. Only 1 employee. The process to rent a truck and to return it took forever. Needs to be a speedier process. Not Luke's fault.
RANDALL S.The initial vehicle had a check engines light, and the replacement vehicle was an abused dinosaur. The staff was responsive and personable, but the equipment was not. For the cost, the truck, pads and dolly's were sub-par.
Christopher P.The trailer did not have a traditional foot or jack to lower trailer. Instead it had a bent piece of steel. This forces you to pick up quite a bit of the trailer weight to move it around. Also it did not have a traditional ball coupler, so I was unable to lock the coupler. Next time I will probably rent a 5x8 or larger trailer instead of the 4x8 to get these necessary features.

It was packed pretty full, and a few items were wet. Unfortunately the one box that was mostly wet was books, so now they are warped as they dry out.

Morgan D.UHaul overcharged me for an additional month and Joshua Davis issued and refund. The problem is that Josh issued $269,85 credit back on my account, but the overchage was was for $286.86. I've emailed him twice with no response. I spent ~$10 000 in UBoxes in the past 6 months. Maybe you should hire people that communicate a little bit better. Other than being overchared and dealing with Josh, I've had a relatively good experience.

Francis L.Terrible experience all around, my ubox was lost and then late. Delivery scheduled 4 times, 3 cancellations for no reason and late on the 4th try. I asked for call recordings, I never received them. I file a "customer action claim" and never heard back from anyone. I was charged an additional month of storage the day after the ubox was picked up that had to be refunded. I will definitely be discouraging use of uhaul service from here on.

Hours were convenient for customers but service not so well and my storage unit had a leak for months, notified the former manager Brandon when he was still on duty about the leak but it was never fixed! Then they raised the monthly rent due and still didn't fixed my storage issue but they managed to have more new storage units put up in the facility where it's supposed to be well lit with the 24 hour access offered but it's not well lit at all!!! Will never return to this location if I ever need another storage, very bad customer service !!!!from a very disappointed customer who rented this storage unit for more than 3 years !will tell my friends and family also to not to go to this one!!
