When we finally got our UHaul, it was at this location, and we were fine with the trailer we received. It needed to be swept out, but wasn't horrible. A simple sweep out prior to renting out could have improved our thoughts on cleanliness. Our biggest concern actually was with U-Haul in general, as our first reservation was available at the location we selected and delayed our moving trip by a day. The 2nd attempt at reservation, we made online again, and morning of, told it wouldn't be available. Luckily calling the 800# brought us to an available trailer. But the whole ordeal caused us a lot of anguish and stress, considering we were moving my daughter and had a limited window to get it done. Overall, not a pleasant experience, but luckily didnt ruin the entire moving plan once we located an available trailer. Poor service to tell someone you have an available vehicle, only to find out last minute it's not going to be there. Could have been disastrous.

The person at the UHaul on Melrose ave in Roanoke Va Working July31 at 1200 was a excellent customer service person. Very up best. He was very very busy but Very positive person. You should treat him him he is A great employee. All other components of the rental also went very smoothly.

U-Haul's system is clearly not functioning. If someone reserves a trailer, it should be ready and waiting at the location. People make travel plans based on renting your equipment, and I was very disappointed with the company.

Chris was extremely helpful when I had a problem with rental and the 800 number was TOTALLY useless in helping. Also the manager of the location helped out with the return of the truck.

It was returned to Salem turnpike and they didn't check it in the same day I returned it. The trailer wasn't 100 % cleaned when I picked it up and they charged me $75 sweeping fee. My items were wrapped in clear wrapping so it didn't make any mess and I even cleaned some of the debris in the back. Very unprofessional place to do business with.

I scheduled the u-haul for noon and did not receive it until 2pm. I scheduled it for 6 hours when I arrived, I was told the system changed it to 5 hours. The place smelled like marijuana and the u-haul employee looked and acted as though he was under the influence.

Excellent people at this location. You have the boxes and things, which is helpful. The trucks are way too old and beat up overall, however. The inside was clean, but I think my truck came out of the 1980's.

With chain businesses you go to a particular location because of the people that work there. You could get a UHaul anywhere, but you'll only get Chris here. Go here, talk to Chris, have a great move. 10/10 highly recommended.

It was really annoying how little gas was in the tank, and appeared that the fuel gauge changed dramatically once I actually started driving the vehicle. I filled the tank because i was worried it would run out on my way from blacksburg to roanoke. I filled the tank, which ended up being nearly $120.00, and got no word of it in the receipt or anything. I feel cheated as i had to fill the tank after driving just 30 miles because it was dropping so quickly.

Though the location for pickup really doesn't concern me, the inside of the trailer had some nasty, sticky substance on the floor that should have been cleaned for the next rental. Some lights on the trailer, namely yellow running/marker lights, didn't work. That's not safe for pulling a trailer at night that's wider than the tow vehicle on narrow roads or highways with narrow lanes and oncoming traffic. Clean the trailers out if the customer doesn't. Check them at pickup to make sure a new customer doesn't have to deal with a previous customer's mess.

The employees really need to work on how the interact and speak to the customers. They can be very rude and unprofessional. Specially to repeat customers that bring in money time after time again. It makes no sense you have to deal with bad behavior after moving and heavy lifting. The experience should be easy and pain free picking up and returning the uhaul. This is the only location that gives so many problems and what seems to be made-up rules.

Location was great. The issue was with the 800 service. Called me the morning of my pickup and told me the location did not have the truck so had to drive 15 minutes out of my way. Then they told me the new location had the blankets I ordered and they did not. She even put me on hold and said she called them to verify. Second time this has happened. Do not trust the 800 line people!

Wanted it to be nice simple service. Employee was unprofessional and something is not quite right. That van did not get dirty by me. I drove on Main Street and a very nice neighborhood road. And I was charged for cleaning. It was not dirty. Two other people looked at the van inside and out as well. Never never. Will always tell others to never use melrose location of Uhaul or any Uhaul service

I made the reservation online and when I got to the store the rental package was completely different than on the website. A nice young man helped me and explained why it was that way. He was very efficient and cordial but did tell me since I was paying $99 per day instead of the $19,99 per day that if I did not bring it back by closing the following day I would NOT be charged a second day $99 rental fee. I was charged the second day fee and when I called to complain the man at that store was filling in from another store and just said he would let management know. I want a refund of $99 because that's what I was told I would pay upfront. Also at the time I returned the vehicle your app was not working and neither was your one 800 number.

Service person/employee was very rude on this day when I called the store(4-25-2022).. Lots of customers there in the store on (4-24-2022) this is the day I returned the truck.. Several trucks came in. We stood around an hour or more before our truck was checked in. We got there on time. It was almost 10:00AM before we were checked in. I called the store (4-25-2022) when I got another bill for $59,4 and the same rude man/employee answered the phone. I explained the situation and he said he could do nothing about it for me to call the 800 number. He said we were late getting there. I said you were late checking us in because you were dealing with other customers.I asked to speak to the boss/store manager and was told that he was not there and did not know when the store manager would be in as he only opens the store. The store manger who checked us in Sat.(4-23-2022) said that he would modify the time we were to return to a later time. However, we got the truck back at the time it was to be in on (4-24-2022) We had to spend time just trying to find a place to park the truck on the lot. The lot was full of people returning trucks and trucks sitting to be checked in. This employee was going from truck to truck. It was this worker/employee that was backed up and made it seem as though we were late. He was so rude. I am having a hard time even trying to get customer service on the 800# number. when I did get customer service the lady was nice and helpful. She tried calling the u-haul store twice but got no answer. She said she left a message and a dispute/complaint.I was told by the lady on the 800# that I would be notified by the store manager in 3 days in email and by phone about this complaint and she apologized about the rude employee. Today is April 25, 2022 This has been very disappointing and upsetting. Rude employee blaming us for being late when he checked us in an hour late because he was busy with other customers. I do wonder how many people have been treated and done this way by this u-haul store??? Very poor customer service at this store as to how they treated me.

I rent the 20 ft truck two weeks in a roll and both times the gas was under 1/4 tank I have to stop by gas station put gas in first, very inconvenient, need to fill it up or at least 1/2 tank
