Make sure trucks are well maintained. Not even 3 hours into a 14 hour drive the truck breaks down. Try to use the app to request roadside assistance. App would not acquire the correct location so roadside assistance would not be able to find me. Then called the 1-800 number and waited 48 minutes to even speak with someone. I tried to explain to her that the location was not correct and had to get that fixed. Was told it would take 30 min to contact service and then 90 min for them to come out. I am sitting on the side of a busy interstate at night with a 5 year old and a cat. 3,5 hours later are able to go to hotel down the road. We get there and the hotel has no payment information. Wait in the hotel lobby for hours for payment info and then the card is declined for a $99 room. Truck arrives at hotel before we are able to get checked in. Still waiting on payment, luckily we had car on hauler otherwise we would be on the side of the road for 5 hours with child and cat. Broke down at 8pm and wasn't able to get into a hotel until 2 am. Waited in lobby for 2,5 hours. The next day the truck has to be towed to another location and all my things need to be transferred to another truck. Was told to be there around 1pm and movers would be there help. Waited an hour and a half at location for movers to arrive with 5 year old and cat in car. 4pm the day after moving day was finally able to get back on the road. Husband had to call out of work and had to board his dogs an extra day.

Victor D.I don't have a problem with either the pick up or drop off location but I can't seem to find a place to write a review on the general experience. The customer service in the call centers was horrible! I was even hung up on by an agent named Gary! (I would love it if someone could pull that recorded call!) Every time I called I learned something new or something regarding my reservation was messed up. From the price, to the pick up AND drop off location, to the dates of the reservation. The truck had a problem with the windshield wipers (both of them but at different times). Somehow they just flipped over and the arm itself was scraping on the windshield. We had to pull over on a country road (that had no shoulder) in Alabama, at night, during a heavy downpour, to try to fix them!! Very unsafe! Trying to coordinate an out of state move is stressful enough, and this experience made it exponentially more so!! Hopefully we don't have to move again for a long time but if we do, we will definitely be looking at other options than U-Haul!

Rhonda V.I'm writing this review about the YBOR City, Tampa location. I would review my experience there if it were an option. But, since I wasn't able to get a truck from them, Im not able to review them. I reserved a truck online Sunday night. I uploaded my pictures. I showed up Monday morning as scheduled and I was then prompted to upload photos again (why?). While I was doing that, an employee (no one had a name tag on) came in and offered to help me. She said she was new and asked for patience. I was totally fine with that. Another employee showed up and started helping. He asked me for a second phone number. I responded that I don't have 2 phone numbers. (who has 2 phone numbers?) He said he wouldn't rent me a truck without a second number. I said that I rent trucks frequently and even yesterday from another location, and have never been asked for another phone number. He shot back at me "BYE". I asked for clarification if he just told me bye. He said "yeah, you're not getting a truck". (I have never been talked to like that in any situation ever). I swallowed my rage, I said ok and left in hope that taking the high road would find acceptable solution. I called the customer service line. The Lady helped me to the best of her ability and found me a truck 7 miles away from the location I was just insulted at. Extremely long story short, this ASSHOLE employee at the YBOR location cost me $175 in labor costs from employees waiting to load a truck and I got charged the per mile 14 miles (out of my way), and had to fill the tank for those miles. I was supposed to hear from a manager within 3 days. Surprise surprise. I've heard nothing. I'll be making this review anywhere and everywhere I can until I hear from someone who gives a shit.
Gary V.Milage was incorrect on the first vehicle. That nonsense delayed my departure considerably. I wasn't happy with that, no discount was offered, as though my time is not worth anything, The folk were polite, but not really apologetic. I know it was going to be a hassle for you - but it was a real hassle for me as well,
