The rental process itself is ridiculously onerous, invasive, and complicated. Procedures as opaque as those employed by UHaul are undoubtedly a result of substantial abuse of the rental process by customers. I'm sorry for that but, gee whiz, what a nightmare for "normal" folk. Fortunately, the customer agent at the Corvallis site was extremely patient, courteous, and helpful - he is the ONLY reason I just didn't walk out of the store. Despite the agent's exemplary service I will NEVER rent with UHaul again.

This is an extremely well run location. I have used them 3 times in the last month since relocating here from southern California. Each interaction has been excellent. UHaul switched my order from a 5X8 trailer to an 8X10 trailer without asking me. The consequence was that the trailer was too big to fit in my family's campsite. I will warn friends about your policy of not informing customers of changes in time to make other plans.

Overall excellent. One exception to the friendly staff. Two weeks ago I had a bad experience when at 5 minutes before the opening time of your office, I had to use the bathroom and was bluntly told by the young woman when I told her that I needed to urinate badly, was 80 years old and might wet myself : "No, I don't care, you are not allowed in the building at this time." I did have an accident and will never deal with her again.

I was delayed an hour getting my rental and almost not given a truck because I wanted a one way rather than in town rental. It was suggested that I resubmit my order and when I did they said no trucks were available. I then had to take a truck that was in town and much bigger than needed, then drive back and return it, costing me extra in time and gas. I also requested a furniture dolly that was said to be in the truck, but when I got to my location and looked inside the dolly I needed was not there. They suggested I come back to get it at the U-Haul place , which would have cost me even more in gas and miles. I cancelled that dolly rental instead and struggled with the furniture without it

I came late at night when they were closed and I was never told I needed to have an account to drop off the truck. After a very long day of moving, I was stuck here much longer then planned setting up an account to drop the truck off. Please warn us of this when we pick the truck up so we can be prepared!

When we dropped off the Uhaul the document said we had rented several pieces of equipment and more pads than we had. When I picked up the UHaul a woman asked me if we wanted each piece of equipment and I said no. It was early and she was tired and curt. This needs to be better coordinated. We have never had this issue in the past. Merci.

This location is very well managed and operates extremely efficiently. The employee who checked me in was outstanding. There is not much lighting. I accidently set off the alarm on my unit and no one ever showed up nor did I get a call. What is the point of the new alarms if no one responds??

The staff were friendly and efficient. Even when I had to go back to the office regarding a question they were attentive and helpful. I had paid for the unit and moved in, but was still treated very well. They are true "service" people as opposed to being just "sales" people. I felt comfortable leaving my belongings there.

My U-Haul experience was great. The employees are super helpful and friendly. The facility was exactly what I needed. My only problem was the difficulty getting through on the phone. Sometimes I just drove to U-Haul instead of waiting on hold. That was my only issue. Everything else was great.

The only reason I did not go with an excellent is I had trying calling the facility twice on Tuesday of this week, and no one answered, and there was not a voice messaging option. Instead my calls were auto-routed to UHaul Customer service which is a nightmare during the day - with hold times to get through to a person of 30 min plus. Yet when I called other UHauls in the area on Tuesday, I could at least leave a message and someone got back to me. Being from out of town I initially assumed on Tuesday that maybe it was an unmanned facility, as us the customers seem to have to keep doing more and more of the administrative work when buying something, renting something etc. and that is a big bummer.

Overall everything was very good. The only issues we had were that there was nearly 1" deep standing water in front of our unit, #141. It just wasn't level for drainage. The other issue was the expense. Paying nearly $180 p/mo.for the 8X10X20 storage unit was pretty steep. I looked around and found another storage place with a unit that was taller, wider and deeper about 5 miles away for only $130 p/mo with the third month free. It is well worth moving out.

Online rental was quick and easy (similar to other services Uhaul provides), however storage access times are misrepresented. See screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/s4wayiH . "Storage Access" is stated to be from 5AM - 10PM with the option of 24hrs access as an additionally sold amenity. Unfortunately, this is not how the location handles it's accessible hours, instead you must use dual locks on your unit and request a key from the front office upon each visit, to unlock a secondary lock that the location owns. This must be done within business hours (7am - 7pm) and requires the physical surrendering (this is written during statewide quarantine) of a Uhaul accepted identification card, significantly reducing the usability of the storage. After 30 days, this inconvenience can be remedied by a fee increase of $120/yr for 24hr access. While stated otherwise on the rental webpage, there are not any actual access hours allowed between 5am - 7am or 7pm - 10pm unless special arrangements have been made with the front office per exception. This was not explained in any form upon move in. In fact, required front-desk sign in or supervised unit access is mentioned as a punishment for customer disturbances within the rental agreement and contains no reference to actual office hour requirements. Additionally, the confirmation email itself states that access hours are 5am-10pm Mon-Sun without any mention of a required check in. At this point I am curious what other red flags or fees will come about during this process that were left unexplained at the move in time or inaccurately represented on their website. I am understanding of the rules, that the location is allowed to set rules to maintain order on this premises, that the management is working hard to keep units secure for everybody and why this policy would be in place in absence of a gate. But with the combination of the false access times represented online & in the confirmation email, no mention of the specific access hours within the rental agreement itself and increased rent to use the access time already thought to be paid for - I feel that future buyers should be aware of this up front and take the omitted details into strong consideration when evaluating this location's service.

This is a poorly managed facility. The staff appears to be under constant stress and frustration. Maybe there isn't enough employee's to handle the load. I also was charged an astronomical amount for being late one day on my storage unit, I was charged for more gas on the truck that I had rented, which was clearly not needed and then when I closed my account a week earlier was told there was no prorate. I will have to deal with another company in Corvallis now.
