Although I pre-booked the truck, it wasn't until I went to pick it up that I was told there was an e-alert and that U-haul was not allowed to rent to me. It took an hour to figure out but it boiled down to the fact that my daughter apparently owed $55,4 from her move in 2018. I paid for it, but they took forever to take the e-alert off. Thank goodness the woman at the Stop 21 location in Southampton was so amazing. She did her best to get the problem straightened out and get me on the road. U-haul itself could have hit me with the e-alert problem long before I went to pick up the truck. It was not my best experience with U-Haul but they are lucky to have great people like the one at the Stop 21 location to help people through this kind of problem.

I fact, she took so much extra time to fix a problem that other U-Haul employees caused. She went above and beyond! David FThis representative was very informative about UHAUL, very explicit into what the next steps were. She was very knowledgeable and professional, well spoken and polite. This location was not strictly a UHAUL location, however it is a very efficient location and definitely the importance of customer service for UHAUL customers was clearly evident.
giselle dTo improve this location would require a competent employee that understands Uhauls system and not give false information so there are no surprises when the truck is returned to it final destination … we were told several times that our cost for the rental would be 0,89 cents / km plus 39,99 per day for the truck and they would t charge our credit card if we paid cash at our final destination …( which gave us the ability to calculate our expected expense for the move based on our kilometres and days) … we were told the credit card was just to secure the truck in case we stole it or kept it over our allotted time limit or drive over the guesstimated kilometres… the employee was doing Uhauls business primarily from a cellphone in a “make shift” establishment that doesn’t represent the company in a positive light for cleanliness or professionalism of a service … i was told credits would be given for an early return of the truck which we returned a day early with more fuel in it than when we picked it up but apparently that was also a lie … I’m not a person to write reviews but this ordeal was a complete cluster fuck of incompetence and misinformation … extremely unprofessional!

But my booking was changed 10 times by head office and the last few times has been stressful wondering if a truck will even be there . A person should have to drive for a hour to get a truck because my local dealer is booked and out of trucks .. usual need to bring more trucks

Carolyn DI would hold the rental location in Kincardine accountable for their unscrupulous behaviours. I made my original booking through them. Horrible. They actually went in and deleted my truck while I was there and have it to a man. Women are not equal in business. Shameful. But… So grateful for Uhaul stepping up on line and finding my a truck.in Southampton They were amazing. Thank you again.
LEE-ANNM LWhen we got to the rental place no one was there, even though we were there at our scheduled time. It wasn't until we set off alarms before some one came. We had called every number we could find, to no avail. Truck was dirty inside. I'm sure it was not sanitized after who ever dropped it off last. We had to sanitize before we would drive it. Our original pick up spot was changed to a location over 130 km from our home. So the extra drive, was an additional cost for fuel, as although we were told we had unlimited mileage, we were charged for being "over"! What put us over was the distance we had to pick the truck up from! I'm not happy and feel I should be refunded the additional charges, and even more for cleaning and sanitizing your truck!
