Do not ever use this location. Very odd and unprofessional, representative was swearing, annoyed, asking personal questions not related to this rental at all. I was very uncomfortable the entire transaction. As well the truck was difficult to steer, so much slack and play in the steering wheel and it did not feel safe especially while driving on a wet road. Yet the truck was clean.Corinna S.
We rented online and DECLINED insurance . When we went to pickup the truck we waited 35 minutes with his 20 year old SLOW computer, And were asked if we wanted insurance , we said NO ,and were asked again for credit card number. We had already declined online the insurance and had also submitted the credit card number. And were billed WITH THE INSURANCE. The amount was small, however it is the PRINCIPLE of the matter. We had declined online and verbally. It took some doing to get a refund from 4D Feet Shoe Repair pickup location. as a text message ....we are watching our credit card to see if it gets the refund.Turgut C.

Not only was it over an hour to get the truck. I received it filthy and with mechanical problems. I left it with more fuel than I got it with and I cleaned out the entire back of the truck. Still got hit with a 25$ cleaning fee? BrutalTyler M.

When booking the 10' truck, I was not aware that there was no ramp on the smaller trucks. I was not asked if I was aware of that nor if I wanted one (extra charge or not). My help and I did move successfully, however would have been easier on these knees and back if there was a ramp, esp since there are hook holes for a ramp. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers. This was the worst experience I have ever had renting any kind of a vehicle. First of all, your website and phone app are not easily used. I started on the website, moved to the app and was unable to upload my DL. The front part of the bumper lost a screw between the rental place and my home. THEN.....I have problems with the Storage place that I am putting my belongings in not being available on Sunday although I was told they would give me access. I, therefore, required the truck for an additional day. That was very difficult to find but I eventually did an on-line chat. The next morning, Monday the 25th I was to call the rental place at 10:00 am. As I was arranging my workers and driving to the storage location at that time I was unable to phone right away. The owner of the location phoned once to my home number and 3 x to my cell before I saw I had a call. When I answered he was extremely rude and accused me of knowing that someone else was waiting for the vehicle (as if I would keep it an extra day if I didn't need it). I would imagine that a truck being delayed for unforeseen circumstances must be a common occurrence in your industry and this man was unable to handle this in a polite manner. When I returned the vehicle around noon, as I walked in the door he said "someone yells at me, I pass it along". It went downhill from there...this man should not be in customer service if he can't handle a simple problem without being rude and insulting. When I responded he told me I was never going to be able to rent from his location again!!! When I listened to all of the messages he left me, in one message he said "I am trying to recall if you did this last time". Does he think I have nothing better to do??? I have never rented from that location before, so he must have me confused with someone else. I have had him repair my shoes for the past 10-15 years and he has always been a little grumpy but never outright rude like he was...this man does not represent your company in a positive light. I would never want him to represent my company and if he was my employee he would be fired for incompetence and for his disrespect to customers. I can only think that you must get many complaints about him. Not only will I never go back there for anything, I will tell my wide network of friends to do the same.Catherine P.

It may be a good idea for disinfectant wipes to be included with the truck at this time. We got the truck immediately after the precious costume with no way to disinfect.Martina M.

I would like to make an official complaint about this location and the man running the shop. He was sexist and completely unprofessional. I would NOT recommend. Unfortunately, when I tried to live chat with UHaul the assistant ended the chat while I was explaining what happened after she asked me details for my complaint!! NOT impressed UHaul!Julie C.

The truck was not clean on the outside and smelled like someone had smoked in the cab the entire life of the truck (which was 65 000 mi). The windshield wipers were not working properly as well.Ian G.
As I have used uhaul in the past and found you to be a well run company. So I was shocked by my experience this time. From my first contact to the last with the exception location in Nanaimo that took my reservation I found the service lacking. Also I have yet to receive any sort of receipt. I rented a 15 foot Uhaul truck February 26th at 6pm from Frank at 1619 townsite Nanaimo location. During our phone conversation I felt the broker was aggressive. This rental location being my only rental option as it was very last minute I decided to proceed with the rental. When meeting Frank he was condescending about my arrival time and payment decision as well as had open beer sitting on the counter. When renting the uhaul truck he told me it would be 101 dollars, he failed to mention any 25 dollar rental fee or any other fees. Upon returning the truck I parked it in the lot and he asked me to move it to another parking spot for his convenience which I did. Tonight when I received the invoice I had been charged for fees which were not disclosed at time of rental. Furthermore he claims there was broken glass in the truck. While removing the contents last night I never noticed any broken glass and when taking a look at the condition of the truck I didn't notice any mess. I proceeded to call Frank tonight to ask about the fee and he hung up on me when I confronted him about the situation. My experience dealing with Frank has been unexplainably frustrating and unsatisfactory. I hope I can get a response to first off explain the situation and second off rectify this complete lack of customer service that reflects very poorly on the company â€œUhaulâ€. I've had two experiences with Frank now...well sort of. I rented a Uhaul from his location and from start to finish he was excellent. My wife needed his shoe/foot expertise recently and this is why I'm writing a review. Uhaul rental is one thing but this guy knows his stuff, is personable and compassionate. She's been struggling with bad foot pain and conflicting advice/solutions and today Frank made her feel like someone is listening, understands and can help her. Thanks Frank.DAVID L.

I was charged 17,00 $ for insurance that I stated that I did not want but did not realize until we were on the Ferry home (with the truck) & I was able to look at my emails. The attendant pointed to the spot where I had to check so that I am aware of NOT accepting the Insurance. I feel that I was mislead by the agent who would NOT provide me with a copy of my credit card transaction - he said that they will email a copy to my email address. They are going paperless. 239 $+5=244 plus taxes and unwanted insurance of 17,00 $ for 47,13 Totaling 291,13 $ for the use of a 10' Truck (38 km) for same day 8 hrs use.joe T.
