It was not easy to find the lock boxes with keys; the photo provided by the online check-in was not of this location, and I mistakenly went to the wrong door at first. Otherwise the pickup and drop-off process was the smoothest experience I've had with U-Haul to-date. Much easier to use the online check-in than have to work with someone at a desk, though some clearer instructions might be called for. (I relocked the key box, since I didn't know what to do with the lock after I grabbed the key, for instance.)Michael R.

Just want to acknowledge the person who helped me get an early check in. Trucks were scarce and I was moved 3x to the final pick up point. Each person on the hand-offs was splendid, but the woman who assisted me in getting an early check in allowed me to pick up an elderly gentleman moving from assisted living back to his home. Her customer centered assistance allowed an old manâ€"and Korean Wat era veteranâ€"see his home in the daylight hours. Moves are always about human stories. Stephanie was one who made my experience awesome! She was very helpful & even came out to meet me by the truck I was returning back after using. I was very impressed because she was the only individual working at this location and she made me feel like family. The website listed a phone number but when you called the phone number it was for the storage rental place next-door it wasn't actually for U-Haul so it was hard to get through to someone. The location posted a closing time of 3:30 on Sundays. I also checked with the staff and both women said 3:30. I rushed my move in order to make it back to the location by 3:00 to ensure I could drop it off with a person. Showed up at 2:58 and the location was closed. Closed sign posted and all. The after hours return process was exactly what I was trying to avoid. After a day of moving that was the last thing I wanted to do. If I had known that they were closing early, I would have returned it earlier. For next time, please stay open until your posted time, and/or let the customer know you will close early so as to not inconvenience movers.ANGELA M.
The day I went to the pick up location, I arrived at the time I had indicated online to pick up the UHaul vehicle. There were two people ahead of me in line and it was nearly an hour before I was assisted by the single desk worker present. She was chatting casually with the people in front of us in line, which I normally appreciate as good customer service, but I simply had to hand her my card for payment and receive the keys--it took maybe 5 minutes by the time we got there in line. This delayed my moving experience and set my schedule back an hour, and her behavior was simply unprofessional. Please consider either having additional staff members available (this was a weekend), or potentially providing some additional training for your employees to improve the patient experience.Jim K.
Customer Rep was not in office. Called national uhaul number, they couldn't locate your employee. Uhaul rep made childish excuses for not being at work, saying I should have known she wasn't there. She had huge attitude problem. I nearly died in the truck when it started raining due to faulty windshield wipers. Had to buy a 30dollar wiper blade at truck stop. Horrible experience.BRENTON S.
Make sure you tell people what they'll pay. We went on the site and got the 39,95 $ truck with the 0,79 $/ mile. We went to pick it up and they charged us 139 $. We used the truck and went under the time and mileage we said we were going to use, cleaned the truck out and topped it off with fuel. We are extremely frustrated with our experience with Uhaul. We requested to get a motorcycle trailer and were supposed to get it at the Barnes location. We were then informed that our location changed to 3073 S Academy which was an extra 30 minutes away. Once we got there, I was charged an extra 2,73 $ on top of the price I already paid and the staff member there couldn't explain why. Then when we went out to get our truck and motorcycle trailer, we were actually given a different type of trailer and were told that it was because motorcycle trailers couldn't go out of town. We moved 15 minutes away from town. But we were assured that the motorcycle would be fine, but it was not. We couldn't drive the motorcycle in the trailer we were given without risking it tipping over, so we didn't even end up using. We had to do extra driving and paid extra money for a trailer we couldn't use and the overall experience was so awful. The staff at both the Barnes and Academy locations were rude and uninterested in our issues. I will not ever use Uhaul again.Matti S.
Handle to roll down window was broken. It was apparently glued back on. Being charged an after hours rate for renting a truck for 12 hrs and returning it in 6 just to pay another 20 $is ridiculous because I returned it the same day instead of selecting a 24 hr rental and returning it the following morning would have save me. Makes no sense. Uhaul on Barnes and Powers (Wheels and dealz) will be my go to from now on. Super friendly qnd no added charges.Stephanie K.

I was charged for extra mileage when I ordered my truck online and it sent me to the closest location to me. When I got there that location wasn't even open and I had to drive 25 minutes away from there to get the truck all the way 30 minutes back up. She informed me that the Uhaul portion of the business didn't open until 10am so I sat in front of an open business for 45 minutes to get my truck. I was charged convenience charge for what I do not know, I swept and used a leaf blower to clean truck. The crank for window was broken. I do not understand the mobile return did not work I did attempt 3 times before I gave up. I have rented a truck there 3 times over the last month and it always smells like weed on Saturday or Sunday when older lady is there, thought someone should know.ANDRE M.

Did the online check in & payment to make pickup quick. Still spent over an hour at pickup because they wanted more money even though we paid in full online and amount was what we had been quoted. I made a truck reservation for Saturday at 1p as per the website. Then I was called and given the option of following day 9am, which I accepted with hesitation. I Needed it as earliest as possible so I agreed to 9am when they open. I'm there 8:43 but office is closed as expected so I wait. 9am comes and still not open so I go back to wait then others that arrived after me and start forming a line. Now I'm third. I call twice, rings then answering machine. Finally see a brown car racing through parking lot and someone speed walking through the door. They are late by 10 minutes and the two prior people take long with her that I don't get out with the truck keys until 40 minutes later. I'm extremely aggravated as I needed it as earliest possible not close to 10am. Plus the office person not only was late, but I upset of the timing and experience told her I already did the online check in and needed just the keys (but it didn't work that way, which I understood). When she finally gets to me, I couldn't take a picture of my license and I told her that, so she offered to do it with a remark about being done if my phone worked properly. Then she tried to do it herself, it took her several tries as well, until she was able to do it. Apparently her phone didn't work properly as well. And then when I returned the truck I was not told of the time she closed same day. So when I tried to return it at 3:40 she tells me they close at 3:30p and I can do self drop off. When I asked her how to do it, she said to leave the keys in the ignition and the instructions we're on the wall as she points outside. So she's late which made me late, gave me a snarky comment about my phone with a smile, then when it comes to dropping it off 10 minutes late (which I didn't know as the door said closes at 4pm) gives me vague information that was going to be misconstrued and she was not helpful. I made my reservation online and when I arrived to location to pick up my rental, I was told that they didn't have my truck. It was extremely inconvenient and a waste of time. There needs to be a better stream of communication when making online reservations. I had an entire schedule for that day, and the process threw my day off.Cassandra B.
