I could not locate the drop-box. The area was very shady and there was nothing to indicate I was at the correct location. I contacted customer service and was not helped at all. It was extremely frustrating.

The crew at ACME Muffler was fracking super. Too bad the rating scale doesn't get any higher than excellent. I found the U-Haul website difficult to use getting different results on desktop vs mobile. The crew at ACME Muffler also seemed to have issues with the site. Glad it wasn't just me having issues (especially since my career revolves around the web). What I wasn't able to do on the web or over the phone, ACME Muffler took great care to make sure I was set to move. It's just too bad they declined my request to help me load and unload the truck with heavy furniture.

Although I made my reservation to pickup at the Vestavia Hills U-Haul center near my daughter's apartment that I was moving, I was redirected to the 6th Avenue S location in downtown Birmingham for pickup instead. This location is actually an automotive repair shop and there were no signs identifying it as a U-Haul rental location. The small parking lot was full and I was forced to park about block away on the side of the road and walk to the pickup location. At the pickup location I was initially told that the person that did the U-Haul rentals was gone to the dentist however after a few more minutes another individual was found that could help me. This person however initially told me that he couldn't find my reservation but after I provided my confirmation number he was able to get me into a U-Haul truck. This all took place in a very noisy repair shop environment. All of the trucks were parked across the street along side of busy 6th Avenue S making it difficult to examine the exterior of the vehicle that was assigned to me. If I ever rent another vehicle from U-Haul, I will refuse to pickup at this location.

Acme told me to take the Uhaul to a different location because they didn't have room. I found out I couldn't simply take it to another location. After a worker at the Quickee Wash told them they had to take it I took it back. They told me to use will-call next time. Completely unprofessional.

I registered online for a truck and chose a location 9 minutes away from my house, however, when I received my confirmation the location had changed to place 25 minutes away.

Nice people but it’s not a regular U-Haul place so if you needed anything else for packing and moving it wasn’t there. Also it’s like an autoshop and they smoke so it stunk. I couldn’t breath

I wish I could just rate uhaul, and not the pickup center. Uhauls inability to deliver on the truck reserved, and confirmed via email, caused a lot of headache. I reserved a 10 ft truck in Birmingham and received a confirmation email. Imagine my surprise then, late at night, when I received an email confirming my 15 ft truck for pickup in talledega - an hour's drive from the original pickup location. I then spoke with a slew of customer support personnel l, only one of which seemed remotely interested in helping me, before I finally had a 20 ft truck reserved in Birmingham. Then, the next morning for pickup, the uhaul app indicated that no equipment had been reserved for my order. Finally, my wife and I managed to pick up the truck after a half hour of dealing with more customer service.

Please be sure to provide a person who listens to the customer and doesn't assume that insurance U-Haul insurance is a necessity. I told the person at the pickup location that I had my own insurance and asked him if he needed a copy. Instead, the person at the Birmingham AL location told me my information was already in the system. He stated I just needed to sign the paper to get the U-Haul. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received starting with the person who made the confirmation call. I was overcharged for services I didn't request, the money was taken out of my account before I completed my moving process. I am very dissatisfied with U-Haul services. I made at least 8 calls to U-Haul trying to have a positive and smooth moving process, but instead, this is the worst service I have ever had to deal with. I would like a refund of my entire fee due to being overcharged, the usage of a little over 100 miles, and overall encounters with U-Haul process, including having to drive across town to pick up a truck after driving 3 1/2 hours to get to the location. I am very dissatisfied with U-Haul services. I have never had this problem in all the years I have transacted business with U-Haul.

There are no external signs that this location is affiliated with uhaul in any way. The hours of operation are limited and there are no instructions on how to drop off after. The "key drop" is a hand-cut hole in a metal garage door with no indication that it is the correct place. ACME has made zero effort at customer service.

horrible experience! reserved a truck a long time ago for a location near my home--- the day before it was changed to a remote, random location--- could not easily leave my equipment in Auburn--- i will do business elsewhere in the future. made moving even worse than moving can be!! very disappointing

On line reservation offered packing blankets however this location says they never have them and so this option should be deleted. This was very inconvenient has we needed these blankets for packing.

People were great, but truck was filthy and smelled terrible. NO stand up dolly, and furniture dolly was holding a greasy engine. It was totally messed up and could not use it. Again Great people, but definitely not equipped to rent UHauls.

We drove up & down the street trying 2 figure out where the U-Haul drop off place was! There was absolutely nothing 2 indicate that Acme Muffler was moonlighting as a U-Haul spot! It took some one from the business across the street from Acme, to tell us that Acme was indeed where the U-Haul place was. The Acme personnel were friendly though.
