Check-in experience was absolutely awful. Return time was based on reservation time and not Uhaul's approval time. This wasted 30 mins of my personal time and also shortened the reservation. I will use a different provider next time.

I have specific criticisms of the booking/pickup which do not reflect on Action Event & Rent. Action Event & Rent was very supportive and made the rental work despite problems with the U-Haul process. I booked the truck ahead of time and flew in for a 1-way rental. On the day I was traveling I received a notification that this would be a "remote" pickup or something like that, meaning no one would be onsite. The pickup process, in order to verify I am who I say I am, required 2 of 4 possible identity verifications: 1) a person who knows me, 2) my employer, 3) my passport, 4) a lease agreement that I have signed. For a domestic flight I did not bring a passport, and I do not carry a lease agreement with me. I am also not asking someone to call my employer, which is a very large company, because I am not going to ask my HR department to deal with a U-Haul ID verification on a date which is a company holiday anyway. Bob at Action Event & Rent, however, made it work and I was able to get on the road with the truck. But the pickup system overall stinks. Despite U-Haul, I was able to rent a truck and accomplish my moving mission.

Bob and his team were life savers. I would definitely recommend this location. They do offer a 24 hour self service option at this location using the Uhaul app. This is great to know for my future business needs. It seems really convenient.

Jonathan NTruck was dirty. It was backed all the way to the wall so we had to climb down from the red ramp to reach the lock to get the keys. Furniture pads and dolly were missing but I still had to pay for them.

Ashley HI was told an employee would be present and there was no one. The roll up door was frozen shut with ice and required significant effort to lift. Had I not had useful tools with me this would have required assistance. The cab was dirty. The latch lock on the back was not well lubricated and difficult to operate. Overall it took an hour to get the truck on the road. This greatly inconvenienced me and the friends waiting to help me move.

Jonathan NFirst of all, difficult to find even with GPS, since it's in a big complex of businesses and his is not marked at all. Our truck was the only u- haul there. The truck smelled like cigarette smoke so bad, i left the windows open the entire trip (mid November). I had to wipe all cigarette ash from the steering column and seats and cleaned the cup holders and trays that were full of trash. Had to sweep out the truck that had dirt and leaves in it before using. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE- it's clearly a secondary business and afterthought for this guy - stick with legit u-haul dealers.

DUANE KThe first problem with my rental was they changed my pickup location to 5 mi away across town The second problem was when I showed up no one was there they claimed there's a family emergency and they had to leave I had another appointment and showed up 2 hours later to receive my rental they weren't there for another half hour after my appointment to show up to receive their rental then when I went to return the equipment the returning office said they cannot accommodate me because they had no room to put my equipment so they sent me 8 mi away across town to return the equipment this is unacceptable very poor way to run a business I'm very unsatisfied

Bill RFender on car dolly had been previously damaged, was unprofessionally repaired, and failed during use. Had this happened with a car loaded, it could have been damaged.
Thomas HOffice closes at 2 and the drop off lot is somewhat small if there are several units waiting to go back out. I was able to back the trailer into a space after a couple attempts but this location will require someone with moderate to advanced skills driving a trailer in reverse and getting it to turn into a space without damaging surrounding units.

I arrived to pick up my truck before the store opened, by 30 minutes, but the gentleman who worked that morning was already there and let us get the truck. He was super friendly and very courteous. Jeffrey DDidn't really have issues necessarily with the pickup location - nobody was there for us to get our keys, but once we figured out the app, we were fine. However, calling customer service was next to useless. The first person I had (didn't get her name) was helpful with information and getting us transferred to someone who could answer our questions; but it was Margaret who could learn how to provide adequate customer service. As SOON as my call was redirected and put on hold (again), Margaret picked up and in the rudest tone said "UHAUL, CAN YOU PLEASE HOLD" and then immediately put me on hold before I could answer. When she finally got back to us, it was nothing but a bad attitude. There was music playing loudly in the background, and she seemed agitated when I couldn't understand her because of it. She insisted that I use the app and provided literally ZERO help beyond repeating "well you need to use the app." My career is in over the phone IT customer support. Simply telling someone "well you need to use the app" vs. "I'll help walk you through the process" shows a huge lack in skills, actual customer service abilities, and just generally positive customer interaction. By the end of the call, I told her I'd like to file a complaint with corporate, and she responded with "Why?" As if the service she was providing should be good enough. When I asked her if there was another available truck in the area, she wasn't making any efforts to look or assist, and continued to repeat "just use the app." (AGAIN, with no actual assistance.) I've used Uhaul for a few moves now, and I have NEVER gotten such a run around, lackluster service, or the level of customer service difficulty employees like Margaret provide. That being said, I don't plan on using Uhaul ever again, and will make sure any friends, coworkers, and associates know the (lack thereof) service I've received. Again - I had no issues with the location, or the folks who we picked the truck up from. My woes are specifically with Uhaul's lack of quality customer service, and especially Margaret. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you for the final reminder on why I will avoid patronizing this company going forward.
