I felt that I was scammed into paying an extra cleaning fee. When I picked up the truck it looked clean and was well maintained, but I did not look closely at the "tracks" where the door shuts. We moved furniture. When we returned the truck to the Fortuna Airport Road location, we had to pay a cleaning fee because the person that we returned the truck to in Fortuna said that the back of the truck was "filthy" and that the tracks were filled with mud. We did not have any contact with mud, so it had to be there from when we picked up the truck, but was so minimal that we didn't notice it. We swept the truck out before returning it and it looked clean. We felt that the person receiving the truck was being excessively picky in order to charge us for cleaning and that it was a racket / scam in order to get more money from the customer. This definitely turned us off from the Fortuna Airport Road location.

STEVEN DStaff was friendly, called to confirm the night before and assure me they had the equipment needed, and pickup/dropoff was way faster than I've experienced it in the past. MUCH better than having to drive all the way to Eureka.
kelley yWe dropped off after hours. We received our email receipt in a very timely manner. The key return box wasn't labeled so we just put it in the mail drop slot. WE GAVE UP ON THE APP TO CHECK IN AGAIN. IT WOULDN'T EVEN OPEN UP. So I called in on the 24 hour line and they answered pretty quickly. We used this drop off site before and it was very neat and tidy and the ladies very knowledgeable and efficient!!

Sarah LStaff was super friendly and took care of our needs. The 26' moving truck we rented was clean but my only concern were the brakes. They worked, don't get me wrong, but for the size of the vehicle, you really had to lay on them to get them to engage properly. Even while in idle and stepping on the brake pedal, the truck moved as if they weren't engaged. So, just be aware of that for the larger trucks, especially when they are loaded. Brake early!

MARY BI rented a 6x12 trailer, hitched up by by the U-Haul representative, 2 of the 4 tail lights didn't work on the trailer. He insisted that they never work. He been doing this for nearly a decade and they never work, he said. As I was driving out I saw the same model of trailer hitched up to a U-Haul Van that he had just set up and all the trailer lights worked. Proof he had just lied to me. I've rented this size of trailer several times and there's never been a problem with lights working. I pointed out to him that the all four lights were working on the other vehicle he had hitched. He said something to the effect of the lights work for U-Haul trucks but not for anything else. This is completely ridiculous and obviously he was just too lazy to fix the problem He'd rather lie to me than investigate the problem.

Krystle WNothing. The truck I rented, a 15' was fast and easy to rent, clean and fun to drive. I especially that you could add a bundle of 10 clean blankets to wrap fragile things for only 5$ and all you need do was fold them when done and leave them in the truck.
Sarah Tcell phone coverage is a little spotty. This is an issue when picking up rental via cell phone
