Three hours after I returned the vehicle uhaul called saying I'd not returned the vehicle. Think this is incompetence? How about getting an erroneous $75 fuel surcharge because "the other person couldn't read the fuel gauge." To err is human, to default to hosing the customer is uhaul.

Glen ManningWhy didn't you ask about the Share Pick-up at 304 E Ben White Blvd., Austin, Texas 78704. I was to take a trailer to Philadelphia, PA 19145. At 304 E Ben White Blvd they had a worker that was so very rude. It is a very large facility. When I pulled into the facility to pick up the trailer, I parked in a space near some trailers. A lady came out of the building and said, "You can't park there." I told her, "I'm sorry, I'm here to pick up a trailer." She said, "Oh, come on in." When I went in, she apologized and said she thought I was returning the truck. This place was very unorganized. The lady told another young girl to help me with the "load share". The young girl stated she wasn't sure what to do. The older lady told her to call a young man, so he could help me. The young man looked up my info and said he needed more information. All three of these employees were kind and friendly. I told the young man that I had some info on my phone, but I left it in the truck, that I would retrieve it. I went out to get the info from the truck and a man ran out of the back of the building yelling, "You can't park there, you can't park there!" I politely told him that I was doing business inside." He never asked what business, or can I help you, he yelled, "You can't park there, move that damn truck!" That made me so angry that I told him he could do the "ride share" himself. I moved the truck to the front door, went inside and told the young girl, which was the only one there at the time, that the S.O.B. could do the "ride share" himself and I left. I called and told them after I drove about 25 or so miles that I wanted to make a complaint. I told some lady what happened, and she got permission to refund me $50.00. They didn't take in the fact that I spent an extra night at a Hotel in Austin so I could pick up the truck on time. Because of traffic, it took me one hour to drive from the hotel and back to pick up the "ride share". I had told U-Haul that I would be there between 9 and 9:30am to pick up the trailer. I got there about 9:10. The people at U-Haul didn't get the message until 9:27. If they had gotten the message as to when I would pick up the trailer, all this would have been avoided. I spent $125 for a hotel room so I could pick up the trailer early in Austin and not be late. I left San Antonio the day before. I spent an hour on the road to U-Haul and back to the hotel for the trailer, had to put up with an irate employee that should have been fired on the spot, and was offered $50 for my troubles. I have used U-Haul many times through the years, it will be the last if I don't get refunded more than $50. Let the irate employee pay for the delivery of the "ride share"!

Bennington service was great but it was also 40 miles away from home when there were other places much closer to us that had trucks . We reserved a truck in williamstown and were moved to Bennington.. not great customer service in my eyes and I have rented a lot of trucks and trailers from Uhaul..never again!

Anthony FazzoneWhen you arrive, even though you have spent a lot of time on the computer prior to fill out all of the applications, they make you wait while they conduct their other businesses and then go through the whole application process again with you before they will assist you to the vehicle. Then after I returned the vehicle, they sent me an extra charge which they did not identify. I still don't know why I was charged $130. I filled the tank with gas before I dropped it off, it was cleaned out. The person that checked the vehicle back in told me just to expect an email. I said I need the keys to my vehicle so I can leave. Then he went back to find the keys - there was no protocol - my keys didn't have a name attached to them or anything so he couldn't find them right away. I was seriously concerned that my vehicle could have been driven away by just anyone at that point - that they hadn't even made a record of my vehicles' keys to go with it. It seems like their Uhaul business is not efficiently operated.
