On the mobile return the rental was supposed to be returned to Bedfors Va which was another 20 miles out of the way. We returned it to Alyivista because it was 2 miles away. The extra milage was from having to drive farther for the pickup and drive even farther to pick up a hand truck. That was supposed to be guaranteed at the first stop. We had to make a call to return the truck to different locatiin in which we stayed on hold waiting for about 30 minutes. Then had to argue with the person on the phone just to let us drop the truck in Altivista. This was the worst experience ever with uhaul.John J.

When using the website to take the picture to start online pick up of the truck, it didn't work. I called the customer service number and was on hold over 40 minutes. I finally decided to download the app and that is the only way I was able to complete the steps to pick up the truck. I lost about 50 minutes of time doing this. There needs to be better customer service where you can actually speak to someone and not have to wait on hold for so long without ever talking to a person. The website needs fixing so people can take pictures without downloading the app.James W.

Tried 10-15 times to take needed pictures and could not so had to call uhaul office to check in and then service couldn't be done Monday morning due to lady left her phone at home. Given that I had completed all the questions associated with the rental agreement via the online form, I expected to be in there for 10 minutes and was there for almost 30 minutes. This was because I was asked all of the same questions I had previously answered. While not the worst experience, it was frustrating as I had chosen the online check-in to avoid prolonged interaction per COVID precautions. The 24 hour checkout with your phone process was an utter nightmare. My reservation was at 9:30 and I was there to pick it up at 9:25. The online check out process was so difficult it took until 10:15. I went through ALL the steps as instructed to take pics of my drivers license and myself. Then, I had to WAIT for approval from an online customer service agent to finish the check out which took then forever. They barely responded to me, and when they did finally, the person wanted to call someone else just to verify who I was when I had already proved that!!!! After 45 minutes of hell dealing with your ridiculous system and agents I finally get the truck and the dolly, I paid for, was missing. Then, when I was done, I took it back not knowing that I had to put in gas and check mileage. That should've been something the system tells the customer as soon as we pick up the truck. The entire experience was awful and I'll never use this company nor recommend it again.Pamela R.

The UHAUL representative from this location was not helpful when she confirmed our reservation the day prior. We had to drive from 30+ minutes away, and they did not have all of the equipment we requested. Rather than providing which location in our area had the outstanding material, she informed us that we needed to call the other locations ourselves. I made a reservation weeks ago for Lynchburg VA. I saw nowhere in my contract that it was possible I wouldn't get a vehicle at my desired location after I made my reservation. The day before I made my out of state move I get an auto generated email saying my new location was Alta Vista. I wasn't even given mileage to cover the extra drive time. I had to call and ask. I then had to drive to Roanoke to get the tow dolly and then back to Lynchburg to pack the truck. I will not be using uhaul again. The lady at this location was very pleasant.Benjamin D.

Had to call customer service to change the drop off location. The lot was easy to maneuver with a trailer. They were closed when I dropped off the the trailer. But customer service at 7am was helpful even though I was not gonna drive 250 miles to drop off the trailer.richard G.

We were charged an extra day due to poor communication. We had originally wanted to pick up at 11am, and told we should return at 11am the next day. And we were told we could pick up at any time before 11 am. When we picked truck up at 9:45, we still believed we could return at 11 am. But we had an emergency at home that night and were unable to unload. We were called in the morning that they needed it by 9:45, unbeknown to us. We unloaded in the morning and returned it by 11 am --AND WERE CHARGED AN EXTRA DAY. Communication was bad and we were charged an extra day due to poor communication! I want my refund.Edward R.

The location opens at 9 on Saturday I needed to be hooked and gone by 730. Got the dolly had to hook it up myself with no help. Didn't even help check the lights. Just went inside. However, the telephone representative I spoke to on Monday regarding a change to the drop off location was very rude, unaccommodating and not helpful. I encourage you to pull the telephone recording and listen to the interaction that transpired. I rented an auto transport. All equipment was available (straps, ramps, chains, electric, ramps) and working however the trailer hoped excessively, It was not my inexperience since I had rented several from the Lynchburg office. A wheel or axle may be causing an issue. All other services and experience was excellent and I will rent from this location again in the future. another note. This was a NIGHTMARE. NOT due to the actual franchisee, but dealing with Uhaul as a company. They screwed up royally, booking a truck 41 miles away, when my move was 42 miles in a different direction. They "confirmed" a reservation with a store that was CLOSED FOR SIX WEEKS FOR FAMILY REASONS. THEN WHEN THERE WAS THIS PROBLEM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON NEVER CALLED ME BACK.
