The rep just pre-billed me 100km despite telling him and also an estimated distance in my reservation. Seemed very adamant on billing that as if it would be final so I would recommend the rep taking the extra effort to look at the reservation and ask the client for estimated distance (unless his current practice is the accepted practice at u-haul then I have no other recommendations).Alan T.

I wasn't happy with U-Haul. I originally order a 15' truck in the first week of May for pick-up on May 22 from the location at Major Mackenzie and Newkirk (Rust Check) This location is less that 5 minutes away from my home. When I went to confirm my order on May 17, they told me that everything was in order and that I could pick up the truck at my scheduled time on Saturday. Then on Friday evening around 5:00 pm I received a call telling me that my truck was not available and the only think they could offer me was a 9' cargo van and that I would have to go to 2300 John St. Markham to pick it up. Needless to say I wasn't impressed. I had to change my whole plans. First I had to tell my helpers of the changes and then we had to make a trip on Friday evening with 3 cars full of boxes to the house. On Saturday when the van was loaded and another 3 cars full of stuff we still had to leave some things behind. Thankfully we didn't have to move any furniture or appliances, etc at this time because if we did I don't know what we would have done. You can't get another truck at the last minute. This was a very stressful experience. I figured it cost me an additional 20km in charges to drive to pick up the van. I hope this never happens to anyone else booking with U-Haul. This could have been much worse than it was.MICHAEL S K.
It's was my worst experience with uhaul in general , first you change my order from truck 26 to truck 20, when I went to pick up , I find out my order was changed from Saturday to Sunday , m moving was arranged for Saturday with helpers and condo elevator, with uhaul very poor arrangement and responsibility I did compensate 200 $this is all due to Richmond hill branch irresponsibility.amir Z.

I couldn't make changes to MY order online because I listed my partner as primary driver, but then in-store the person only wanted my information which made no sense. And then the truck was dirty inside, with empty water bottles in the cab and just debrief in the back everywhere. For the price we paid, we were very underwhelmed.KELSEY ANNE P.

Ran into issues with another location as they were closed yesterday (Easter Monday. Not a statutory holiday, uhaul is telling me they are open so I drive 200km to drop off the trailer to find out this is not the case). Then call uhaul today and was told the additional days would not be charged (spoke with Jackie from uhaul call in center). Then when I drop off the trailer today at the location which is actually open, I end up being charged for the 2 additional days. I will actively encourage others to use anyone else, unless someone from uhaul would like to call me and address this issue.Jamie D.
I had to go 20 kms out of the way to get a truck as apparently it was the closest to me and pay 69 cents a km , for that truck was under 1/2 a tank of fuel , I put 30 dollars is it only went 100 kms and they still charge me 15 dollars for fuel , it's a scam the way you do it , I drive a transport for a living and don't pay that much in fuel to go 100 kms !ASHLEY S.

My over all experience with U-Haul and this particular location was horrible. Even though I reserved the dolly and other items in the reservation, nothing was available. I got a lot of advice from the person on how customer should be knowledgeable rather the u-haul understanding the customer as if it was my mistake to book u-haul on month end. Also, he charged 17 dollars for 15 km usage.GURUPRASAD B.

I had to wait longer than I expected because of other business that the owner had to service. Inside the car was some dirt on the cupholder area. I reported this in the application when taking the car. There was also some dust. I had to use your application to return the car and if chose the report car was dirty I had to pay 25 $for cleaning. This is flaw in the process. As a result I chose car was clean, so the next customer will face the same issue.Kamran M.

1 - don't make the customer have to re-answer all the online pre-check in questions when they arrive for pick-up, especially when doing it online was supposed to speed up the process. 2 - check that your vehicles are working before the customer arrives 3 - take responsibility to fix the issue with the vehicle and not leave it to the customer when the vehicle hasn't even left your property. Serious need to improve customer service. 4 - keep jumper cables available on siteJennifer P.

I do not recommend mobile pick up to anyone at this location particularly. It was very confusing and the sales man at the LED store was very rude. He did not offer to help me. I asked where the keys for the car were located and he just told me at the back of the building. I walked all the way to the back but could not find anything. When I walked back to the store askikg him for help he was rude and very unprofessional. He kept on saying you did the mobile pick up and it's your job to find where the car or the key is.Roxana M.

The rental vehicle was honestly disgusting from top to bottom. It is abundantly clear that Uhaul does not conform with COVID-19 safety procedures. When I disputed the charges when checking out, nobody contacted me to discuss. They just billed me anyways and pretended like I was a satisfied customer. Honestly a shameful display by Uhaul and I will never ever use them again or recommend to a friend. They should be reported to the local health authority for noncompliance.Anthony N.

The process for registering and finding the keys was the closest thing to an escape room since COVID hit. We didn't want to dispute any photos in case we were locked out of the van. Photos weren't up to date.Hayley M.
I would not use the smart check-out again unless I have no other option. I had to send a picture of my Driving license 3 times, and my head shot 2 times, one of them during the long wait in the parking lot while someone was verifying my appointment, this took around 15 minutes, plus the time needed to take photos of the vehicle and confirm stuff on the app. so about 20-30 minutes after the time I booked the Van, I was able to get out of there. An in person check out is much faster and easier.Mahdi K.

Feedback regarding U-Haul Contract 28037823 This was a very disappointing rental experience for me. The service at the John street location was great. However, I had placed my rental with the location on Doncaster. When I arrived at 11:00 yesterday, I tried to pick up my vehicle with the website and received a message that the vehicle was not available. I went into the store and was advised that the vehicle I had reserved was supposed to have been returned the previous night but had not yet been returned. Despite the fact that I had a reservation and the vehicle had not been returned, the proprietor of the store had not contacted the previous renter in the two hours the store had been open to ask about getting it returned. To make it worse, she told me that this had happened several times before with this same person. She offered to rent me a cargo van as a substitute but did not offer any sort of discount given that I would need to take multiple trips if I switched vehicles. In the end she found the alternate rental at the John location, but that resulted in my having to travel and pay for an extra 12 km of driving. (Plus related gas charges). This experience has been very disappointing and soured me on the idea of using u-haul in the future.ROBERT J R.

I gave average not to the location itself. But rather to u-haul reservation system. The guy at Americo Lighting was great, for him i will give 5 stars. I booked the 15 ft truck at a location near me. And as the truck was not available they sent me to Americo. To my surprise they change my order to give me a mini cargo van. The reason I booked a 15ft truck is because I know how much stuff I have to move. So there was some discussion that went by. And 2 hrs later I managed to get what I needed. Everything shifted by 2 hrs and even then UHaul charged me extra fee for returning the truck late..???????Elvin V.

Again, at this location, the attendant was quick to comment on how nice my car is, and just as quick to indicate that I can disconnect the trailer if I wish. He then proceeded to tell me to hold off because this may be the wrong drop off location. This was after we had spent 20 minutes talking to Uhaul on the phone hoping to drop off at a location that is 2 minutes from where we were and insisted I drive 20 minutes away to a farther location. Needless to say, I am disgusted by Uhaul and it's customer service. Two location, over 4 hours driving apart from each other, with employees showing great disrespect and disregard to the customer. This tells me it is a systemic cultural problem at Uhaul. I will take my business elsewhere next time.PIERREANTOUN B.
