I didn't really enjoy my experience with this rental, at the shop, it felt a bit like the person running it didn't want to be there and was â€œdoing me a favorâ€ or was put out by having to do their job. The truck itself was great, easy to drive, clean etc, but I felt ripped off, overcharged for the trip mileage (had to pay for 150kms when I only really drove maybe 90, with zero explanation of the insanely expensive charges), plus gas (they said it was 7/8s when it actually was less, etc, so I don't feel like the proprietor was that honest. Anyway, I don't know I didn't really love this experience.Bonnie B.

Low tire pressure light was on, truck was banged up and the pretrip link to take photos wouldn't work. The person there wasn't able to help either. The interior wasn't too bad but definitely wasn't cleaned with a broom. I tried reaching out to the location before they closed about the truck but no answer,tried many many times. The truck had no Uhaul markings seemed like a random truck. The return process was pretty poor too, the website they told me to use was slow and kept crashing. Had to take photos in the dark without flash.Dan L.

Terrible, terrible, extra terrible. When I pick up the van it was dirty, I took a picture of what the van look like when I got it. When I brought back the van they try to blame me for it and wouldn't take any responsibility at all. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCE! WOULD NEVER RENT FROM UHAL AGAIN!!!!! The manager this location was rude and possibly racist. I try to explain to him that the van was like this when I pick it, and he didn't care all he wanted was for me to pay extra money for it. Ask him for a number of somebody above him and he gave me the number for the call centre. The guy at the Call Center, Nicolas he didn't give two rats ass of what I was saying all you wanted to do was rush me off the phone because again they don't care! It's all about money for them. I brought the van a couple of hours late because we all know when we're moving unpredictable stuff happens. They proceed to charge me $50 for that, which is fine I paid for it. But the way that I was treated was absolutely unacceptable. So yes the service was shitty! And will never ever rent and I will tell everyone I know to never rent for that location and or uhal altogether.SHANICE M.
When a customer says they are travelling over the mountains In winter make sure it has good winter tires. Before you say it's ready for retal. I had to wait two extra hours for them to change a bad tire so I paid.movers 179 per hrs for them not to have a truck to load. Just garbage service No help and no discount for their mess upMICHAEL M.
When I was renting the van, two staff members were taking care of my paperwork. They both said I could return the van the next day by 12:30pm (I rented it at 10:30am). I clarified "really? is it the same price?" they both very clearly said yes, same price, no extra charge. I returned the van by 12:30pm, and was emailed a receipt that they charged me for 2 days. I called and explained that the 2 staff members who did my rental told me 12:30pm. He asked one of the staff if they said that and they did. He told me sorry, it's 2 days, I'm sorry if they told you that, and that he can't change anything. When I insisted that they both were really clear I could bring back at that time he said the same thing. Since I was getting upset I said how can this be, when it was your staff that told me this and that it was the same price? He said he doesn't like my tone and that he would "refund me out of his pocket". Would this not be because his staff made a mistake? Of course it is. He did not refund me one day, however he actually put another charge to my card of $3,58! Turns out their staff can say anything and you have to pay for it. Get your receipt from them BEFORE you leave!!! What sucks is I had frequented this store for purchases and Canada Post and this has really soured my view of them.PAMELA V.
Rented a 20 foot truck. It was absolutely flithy from the cab, exterior and cargo area. We cleaned the cargo area before using it. Less than 1/4 tank of fuel. Check engine light is on.DAVID R.

I came early to pick up truck, and yet was given the keys 15minutes after scheduled pickup. The truck was sandwiched inbetween 2 cars (under a foot space on front and back), which mean't I had to spend 7 minutes slowly inching it out. Upon dropoff, nobody could even provide me receipt or final bill. It's actually 24hrs later and I still haven't received confirmation on the amount my CC will be charged.Meron H.

They are super helpful.... I wouldn't have minded a few more pointers about driving the van... Even something as simple as the emergency brake operation! Luckily I had my nephew with me. They were super nice at the location... and I was able to put the Van in place. I did think the key drop off was a bit "insecure" it just goes through a window..and I was scared someone would fish out the key!! But the location and the help from the staff was AWESOME!! I HAVE never rented a U-Haul and my nephew who was with me.. was like.. THIS is amazing.. now I don't have to call my Dad with a Truck. LOVE the convenience of the pick-up spot...and glad I returned it at night..because I was able to put it in the exact same spot. Having access in your own neighborhood is a game changer!!Anita F.

I asked for another location when I ordered, I did the online check-in with the other location. And when I went to the other location, I was told I had to go in King Edward. Finding the agency in King Edward was difficult. Only the street number can help. Not easy when under stress. The people in King Edward were fine. But my planning was super tight due to that. I had to rush like crazy and I was not able to eat before being on the ferry. This is super bad.Vincent K.

The cargo van was clean enough but I found Starbucks garbage under the passenger seat. Not sure if anyone actually checks between customers. Really nice guy running this location, return parking is easy, I used the automated return option as they are closed Sundays (got a call to pick up Saturday late afternoon as I'd booked for Sunday but like I said, closed that day)KARYN M.

This location has no dedicated parking for its U-Haul vehicles, and it was difficult to find parking for the vehicle when we brought it for return. This may not be solvable but it would be great if some arrangement could be made re this. Staff was pleasant, efficient and helpful.Michael C.

I received excellent service from the staff of Arlines Gift N Things. Although there was a lengthy delay caused by a technical issue, they were incredibly friendly and made a point of offering me extra time and assistance to solve any issues caused by the delay. Merci.Carly W.
There was one person in charge of the entire store (mail & ups, gifts, and U-Haul). Huge line to get the truck. When we got in to the van and turned it on-there was an immediate alert for â€˜right front tire' indicator light on. So while my husband went to fill tire pressure, I ran back to inform the U-Haul representative. He was very dismissive and told me â€˜yes yes I know. It's ok' so I asked that he put it in the file right away so I wouldn't be charged or penalized after drop off if the tire pressure got low again during the rental or after drop off. He said it was in the file in my photos and â€˜no problem' then rushed me out of the store. I called u-haul right away to let them know about the tire pressure and that I'd been given a truck like this. Nothing was actually in my file-he lied. The representative on the phone assured me he'd write it in the file and gave me the number for road side assistance just in case as we would be traveling about 100kms. When I dropped the car off, I again called U-Haul as one of the drop off questions is â€˜is there any issue with the van that may impact the next family'. I selected â€˜Yes' and then spoke with a new representative. The tire issue still hadn't been reported in my file as a pre-existing issue. We'll see if they try and charge me. I have all the call info recorded- but wasn't very comforting knowing that 2 people had assured me of something that wasn't true. Thank god the tire didn't deflate on our move. Won't be using this U-Haul location again.CAROLYN H.

Overall good experience. The place was hard to find (hint: it's a gift shop); and the owner is a bit strangely aggressive but nice enough to make do. Fast in and out, easy process and didn't get over charged. If 3 stars is average, I'll give it 4 stars for being a smooth experience. Would come againReka G.
