Some sort of customer service would be good. I was handed the keys with the sentence: Van's outside. Which one of the four vans is it? Had to go and try the key on all of them to find out. After checking damage and mileage, I only found out on the road that the right signal in the back wasn't working. Very dangerous when switching lanes, making turns, etc.Dominik E.

I was charged a cleaning fee for a vehicle that was not clean in the first place and had a terrible odor. I submitted photos regarding this matter to no response. I usually use u-haul for my moving needs but am reconsidering this going forward.Robyn B.

when i went to pick up my cargo van the left tire was low when i told the angeent he look at it and not only changed it on the spot he let me pick witch one i wantted with no hassle tell you this if i need a rental agin im going right back to them( ***** stars)ANGEL D.

The vehicle was DISGUSTING - I got sticky mucus on my hand when touching the dashboard. The vehicle also smelled of dead bodies. The vehicle was missing both the dolly and furniture pads that I paid for which in turn caused a MAJOR delay in my move. The app didn't work properly during pickup so I was not given an opportunity to enter mileage, gas, or survey the vehicle damage. Very poor experience, I will not be renting a Uhaul van for my next move due to the quality of this experience.Daniel G.

The van was not cleaned out properly. When arriving to my destination I noticed two crack pipes under the passengers seat. YES TWO CRACK PIPES. I AM DISGUSTED AND WOUKD NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE AGAIN. I SPENT OVET 500 $! I DID NOT EVEN RECEIVE A PROPER APOLOGY OR DISCOUNT. NOTHING!!Lee Q.

I originally made a reservation for a different site in Brooklyn but got an email immediately afterward saying no trucks were available and the reservation was changed to this (Armida Service Station) location, which was not at all far away from where I originally chose. Then there was a major snow storm and I couldn't rent on the day I wanted. The day before my reservation I switched it online to a later date with no problem. On the new day there was still a very lot of snow on the streets and parking was a major challenge, so I arrived to pick up the truck 2 hours after I originally reserved. Nonetheless, the truck I reserved was ready and my in-person pickup went very smoothly. Masks were required for customers and worn by employees and the clerk was behind a plexiglass screen -- all good. The truck was easy to get to, was clean and in good condition, except for an overpowering marijuana aroma in the cab, which was not the fault of U-Haul. I returned the truck after regular business hours, but I had been given instructions to return the key to the gas station clerk if I returned late. I had to struggle to find a parking space given all the snow, but was able to park the truck just down the street from the station and turn the key in to the clerk. The following day I got an email invoice for exactly the agreed-upon rate, taking into account the actual miles I drove and the fact that I returned the gas tank full. The truck I rented was filthy with dried mud, both in the driver's area and in the back. Everything I moved was covered in dirt by the time I finished.Megumi Y.

Overall the vehicle and equipment were well kept. However, my only issues was charged for 10 furniture pads that I never purchased and also wasn't present in the vehicle at the time of moving. Also, the transparency with details. I was charged for a whole second day of service because I was 2 hours over the time I was suppose to return the truck and when I called and tried to sort all of this out nothing was really explained to me.Tauren J.

I opted for contact less pick up. The van assigned to me was already given to someone else. I in turn had to go inside the location and start everything over. Very little space inside and too many people waiting inside. ZERO SOCIAL DISTANCING!!! We literally were standing on top of each other. Women behind the counter helping us wore NO MASK!! Van was filthy. Luckily I had alcohol wipes in my bag to wipe things down. Horrible Horrible service. When I asked what was the purpose of doing contact less pick up if Im still in contact with her and others (wearing no mask), she merely just brushed me off. She could care less. Don't go here. Go to Bushwick because the Malcolm X location is just as bad.eva R.

The Uhaul location is a Shell gas station. Despite small and dingy gas station, their customer service is excellent, and the truck and equipment are well maintained.Halloran C.

This location should not be authorized. The vehicles were filthy, the van's battery died and we were stuck in the cold waiting for help with a fully loaded vehicle blocking traffic. The employees of the station were rude, unhygienic, thought we were morons, and caught attitude when they were told about themselves. Check your authorized dealers more often.Joshua N.

The representative is very rude. I rented a van from this location on Dec.1st. When I tried to pick it up earlier, this rude rep told me that nothing was available and instructed me to call uhaul. He watched me call uhual and wait on hold for over 30 mins. When I spoke to the rep on the phone, she informed that he had 6 vehicles available. When I went back to the desk, he goes â€œwell I have them nowâ€. So why couldn't he have said that instead of watching me wait on hold. Now today I give this location another try. Same rude rep, he doesn't greet me. Doesn't communicate in more than two word sentences and throws the reciept and key on the counter without saying a word so I took it and exited the location. I went back in to ask how am I supposed to know which van is which, he goes â€œwell you left so I couldn't tell you.â€ Providing customer service is a part of the job. I tried explaining that he could have said something and he goes â€œbro leave me tf alone, I didn't say anything to youâ€ THAT IS THE PROBLEM. I am a customer and expect customer service representative to communicate with me. He cursed at me and behaved very inappropriately so that another employee had to come and tell him to relax. He's rude, disrespectful and interacts differently with women than men.Tywanna W.

This place is a joke. No boxes, dollies, carts, etc. Total mess, one guy behind glass that i could barely see. Signed a few things and given a key with no explanation on where to find the truck or even what roads or bridges to avoid. Told to walk into a garage bay and wave the key around until someone found me. The worst part was the cost was almost 40 % more than what i was quoted. Totally unacceptable, I will be reaching out for more information.Christian S.

As a film producer, I have been renting from U-Haul since I started working in Savannah, GA in 2014. Never have I had a worse overall experience in my years of renting from you. The location was small and did not have all the items I needed. The hours on your site were wrong, and although I know I am contractually entitled to my rental equipment for 24 hours, youâ€"or the person working at this locationâ€"double-booked my equipment. I originally reserved for 10/31, 7a-5p. However, it being an in-town move in NYC, things changed throughout the day and I needed the truck for a few hours longer. At 4:15pm I called the specific location to notify the staff; no employee at that physical location picked up the phone, so my call was redirected to your 1-800-GO-U-HAUL number, where a customer service line representative informed me that I was, in fact, correct, and as long as I returned the equipment before 7am the next morning, I was within reservation guidelines. However, At 5pm (when said location was allegedly already closed according to your website) I received a very nasty call from one of the two employees that work the location. He proceeded to berate me and yell at me on the phone because the person who had booked (the ONLY 15' truck at the location) at my original drop-off time was there to pick up his reservation. I could not get a word in and explain that I had spoken on the phone with someone about this matter already, nor was I listened to or helped. He proceeded to (which was very unprofessional) put the customer on the phone, so we made arrangements for me to haul a*s and return the truck as soon as I could, which ended up being 7pm. After dropping off literally all of my belongings on the sidewalk in front of my new apartment and speeding (unsafe) to the location, I realized I had forgotten to bring the dolly I rented out. I was, however, not worried, because that morning the same abusive employee who yelled at me on the phone had mentioned that "people take the equipment and then don't bring it back," as an excuse for not having my furniture dolly and furniture blankets that I had reserved months in advance. I get to the location, hand him the keys, and he says, "where's the dolly?" to which I respond, "I don't have it; I forgot it, as I was rushing here in the midst of my move. I will bring it first thing tomorrow morning." Him: "Well then I have to call this guy and tell him I have to cancel his reservation. I can't close your account until all of the equipment is returned." Me: "I thought you told me this morning people sometimes don't bring back the moving supplies they rent out, so which one is the true statement?" He then proceeded to yell at me some more, at which point I had had more than enough, and just left. To anyone who has moved to, from, or in-town in NYC at the end of the month, you know the process is already overwhelmingly stressful and upsetting. If you can't afford movers or do a multi-day move like me, you're looking at 12+ hour days. I cannot begin to explain how much more unneeded stress I had to endure because of the horrible service I received. U-Haul has no business double-booking their trucks the way they did in this case, especially because they did it out of greed, since end-of-month is when they get all their business in the city. They are playing with people's lives and they should be ashamed, not to mention punished legally and financially by the state and the city. That employee should be fired, and that location closed down. Absolutely horrible experience; one of the worse ones of my life in general, not only re: moving and renting trucks. 0/10Isabella M.
