The vehicle was poorly maintained. The seats had multiple stains on them. wanted to empty a can of Lysol but I felt I would be charged for it

Derek FAll the rules I understand to protect your investment .. but the language is harsh and once you're desperately trying not to leave a scuff mark- it kind of takes away from the value of the service being provided. I understand people will always mess stuff up, but most people are just trying their best to function in this society
Kaela FThe experience with the app and the reservation system was a nightmare. Moved my pick up location without telling me, after I picked the location based on availability of the truck. Had not "scheduled" the reservation before I arrived to pick the truck up. Had to wait for 1-1/2 hours to get my truck which I reserved via the app days before!
Bruce DThey ripped us off, we had a short move , a grand total of 14,5 miles, I put 3,5 gallons if gas in the truck before I returned it which cost $14 and they charged us $11 more for gas......so $25 in gas to use the for 14,5 miles.....skip this place and go somewhere else.
Brad GThe customer service is abysmal at BEST! The guy at the counter was initially nice when I was renting the equipment and saw that I was in need of a 10' truck. He processed me out quickly. I told him I just needed it for a few hours and didn't need any pads or the dolly nor did I need the equipment insurance. Said ok and I zipped out. When I came back after only using the truck for 3 miles from parking spot to parking spot I wanted to talk to the guy because he added the insurance that I told him I didn't want nor need. I had to wait outside the door for him because he was out of the lobby doing whatever he was doing. There was a "contractor" in the lobby on his cell phone doing whatever. He came to the door and said he would be back in 5 minutes. He took 13. I finally got to talk to him and told him what happened and he said I need to talk to U-haul because it's their fault and he can't do anything about it. I said I reserved it with declined coverage and showed him the screenshot. His attitude changed and he became dismissive and tried to rush me out the door. I said I needed this fixed as this is the first time I've been told that this is a mandatory charge and that U-haul is the only one that can fix it when it was a charge that he added without asking and said it would be on the estimate but not on the bill. Then I asked him if he could go verify the mileage and gas so that we can close this out and he said he would take care of it later and that they would bill my card the final amount. I was no more than 20 yards away and there were still 20 minutes before the location closed so there was plenty of time. He said he had other stuff he needed to do and that that wasn't a priority. I told him that I waited outside of an open location during business hours for 13 minutes and he couldn't take 3 minutes to go and do the final inspection to close out the bill. He blatantly said "NO" and that I will be charged later. Then he ignored me so I left. I called U-haul and the rep said that the location should have removed it. The charge is still there at this point and the next step is calling my card company. This is the first time I've ever been treated like this at a U-haul location and lord knows, I may as well have stock in them at this point.

Zechariah DWhen I received the U-Haul, there was blue paint inside. When I returned the U-Haul, they charged me a cleaning fee saying that I spilled paint. I only packed up tools and glass products. I never put anything in the back that had liquid and all the boxes were clean and dry when I removed them. How many other people have they charged a cleaning fee for something that was there previous? Makes me think I should have gone with Budget Rental or something else. Not happy at all.

Kelly GCheck trucks returned for cleanliness before re-renting. Our truck had spilled coolant and automotive oil all over the bed, but the attendant was very kind and did not mind that we used moving pads to clean it up.

John CI was unaware that the truck I rented didn't have a RAMP until I got to the place where I was to pick up the stuff. ALL the U Haul trucks I'd rented in the past had ramps and I rented this truck over the phone, sight unseen. So I had to do more heavy lifting than I anticipated. It was all good in the end and the gas milage was a very good 17 mpg!

faith tThey charged me even tho they rented me faulty equipment and the reason I needed their truck is because my mom just passed away ! How rude! I did not bring the key right back and they charged me because they could have resented the truck! They had to put it out of commission so they could not have rented it but said I didn't know that ! Well yes I did! Not very professional! Or nice!

Alice DTold when making the reservation and when picking up if I didn't use the 2nd day and all the miles reserved than I would get refunded the money that was on hold for the extra day and mileage. When I got to the drop off only having the truck 1 of 2 days and 15-20 miles under what was reserved, I was told that no money will be refunded because they only do that for in town rentals, not one way rentals. The lady that made my reservation talked me into reserving for 2 days even though I knew I only needed 1 day but did anyways because she Said I would get the money back for the second day. Your employees being misinformed cost me money that I didn't have to waste. And no one can give me a refund. I do not recommend any of these places because you cost me unnecessary money that I DON'T have to waste…
Ryan BNot send your customers to a place that opens two hours after their reservation is scheduled for. Had a res for 7:30 and was, without notification transferred to a third party location that didn't open till 9:30. Truck had 0 % oil life, drove poorly, and had a scratch that wasn't documented by the pick up location.

Heather DI forgot their name, but, as with Greenville and Hendersonville (SC), the agent in Olympia WA was wonderful. The system wasn't working, she had encountered problems with it all day, and she put in a lot of effort making phone calls and figuring it out for us. She had a great sense of humor through it all, keeping our mood up as well. She offered us bottles of cold water as she worked through it, adding to the overall positive experience despite the failing system.
