John BThe truck I rented, as with others I have rented was run down and dilapidated. The parking brake was sticky and barely came off. During the pre-inspection it was brought to the Agent's attention that the passenger side reverse light was out, as well as the drivers side running light. He did nothing about it and just handed me the keys and said "here you go". The Agent was hard to understand and went through the details way too fast, even after my request to repeat himself.

Cong LU-Haul changed my reservations time and location , left me a message on my phone for ersa which was not my name. So location changed and pushed time back to arrive later. When arrived no truck had been returned so I had no truck mid day on my move. I won't be using U-Haul again

John GI don't know if this review actually come to Uhaul customer service but I have to speak from my experience. I came to this location and the check in process was okay but the return process was nightmare. The lady at this location was rude and unreasonable when she asked me to pay $10 more for the gas amount which I already filled up to the indicated amount in the contract (it happened sometimes to me with a little amount of gas - like 1/20 inch short but other retailers never asked me to pay any extra money for this little amount, because I always filled up after using the truck everytime) Also, the parking space for the truck is not ideal and safe for drivers to return under bad weather condition (it was raining and dark that day and they don't have enough parking space for the truck since it all occupied and no signage to guide drivers). After long, exhausting of moving, I didn't want to argue with her any more but this is the worst experience I ever had with Uhaul. As a regular Uhaul customer ( you can check my rental history), I highly recommend you review this retailer's condition to be a Uhaul agent. It will affect Uhaul's reputation and business. I will consider to go for other rental company next time for truck rental and absolutely never come back to this location to rent a truck again!
QUOC PThe truck was certainly clean - the back seemed freshly washed, which was very nice. Every little nick and scratch had a little marker so we were comfortable that we would not be accused of any damage. The unfortunate thing is that the roof of the truck leaked - a previous renter had damaged the roof with a big gouge, and that had been patched in some way. Unfortunately in the heavy rain the patch was inadequate and the rain water was able to make it's way into the compartment. One other minor quibble - the truck gas was not filled up - the gas gauge was "a bit above a quarter". This then was a challenge to match on return so there was a minor disagreement about the level. It was nicely handled so I have no real complaint. But it seems a poor system. Perhaps if we knew the mileage the truck would get we could have put in exactly the right amount......
richard mThe guy charged me for $7 extra gas dollars even when I tried to show him the picture (from gas tank) from before and after. He went a check it and with out checking on the computer said "is $10 more dollar" I tried to explain him and he just walk away, then he said ok just paid $7 all of the sudden. Been a costumer of uhaul for 6 years, never before had this kind of experience.

Mallory GBetter requirements on ensuring the gas is filled up before the vehicle is returned. It is inconvenient to have to find a gas station to begin your trip and then again to refill it before it is returned. The online process is fine to obtain the keys however the online could be much improved with a bunch of the required information being asked and answered before pick up. The pick up process was far slower than advertised

sarabjit sI was charged $118 on my VISA and my receipt was only $87.31. This is completely unacceptable to overcharge a customer on their VISA!!! And, I donated $10 which I now regret for being charged an extra $30 I will not recommend getting a truck from this location to any of my friends or family in our small city of New Westminster, BC

Mauro GMaybe I didn't look at the pre-collection email closely enough, but I don't remember seeing any requirement to photograph/scan my driver's licence and submit it. However, the operator at Arnie's Grocery (maybe Arnie himself!) spotted that lapse and quickly did the scan himself. The whole rental episode was much faster and smoother than my previous UHaul rental experience, where I had to remove a key from a lockbox. That was REALLY slow and difficult. When I need to do the next rental, I will definitely return to Arnie's Grocery!
