Kathleen RUnfortunately my rental started out with the issue that the wrong equipment had been checked in, leading to a necessary change in my reservation. Luckily, the crew at Aubuchon were quick to realize this and we're getting started on fixing that as I was trying to check in via mobile. There were two negative things: first, this was way more truck than I needed, and though the website said the smaller truck wasn't available, it looked like there were a couple on the lot; second, the back of the truck was still quite dirty.
Patricia GI would LOVE a refund since I had to have pickup and drop off the rental 4 hours. Which I should be get it for the full 24hrs. I asked if I could bring it back the next day and was told NO. I was told I had to bring the uhaul back by 7am the next day when I rented it between 9:30 or 10:00am.Keep in mind it was myself, his friend. The truck uses A LOT of GAS because. I NEEDS A SERIOUS SERIOUS TUNE UP. The truck was sucking up gas due to the fact it NEEDS A SERIOUS TUNE UP. I used all of my knowledge from running one of the largest Uhaul facilities. I was a uhaul storage/property manager , and Uhaul should know, How old and horrible the are. The customer is always right. Remember it was only my husband and I living on site (can't afford to hire anyone) I should have had the rental for the entire day. Keep in mind I should've had the rental for $19.95. When I was only renting it. I was told they needed it back that night because they rented the 10" truck for Sunday. Yet there were two other truck there There was a 14' and 26' yet I know they could've rented one of the other trucks for the price of the10'. But i was told the truck better be back by 7:30am because i was rushing to get dressed. Rush and Return it in four hours. The truck needs a serious maintenance . The gears kept were slipping tacking A LOT and when slowing down it was worse. I am truly disappointed and disgusted how uhaul has gotten. (I worked at uhaul and their storage properties, and never have I had any of these situations.) And having the price of the truck and $1:65 a gallon makes me not want to tell anyone. I know I'll NEVER rent another uhaul. I am asking for my money back due to our friends were coming over to help move my stuff in, since there were my husband and I. Thank you Tracy

Richard REvery time I rent a U-Haul they call me and try to shorten my time. This time I rented the U-Haul for 24 hours and they asked me to return it early. The last time I rented a U-Haul I rented it for 24 hours and when I picked it up, they said I had four hours. This is unacceptable. I should be able to rent a U-Haul for the amount of time that I request when I'm doing it in advance.

Josh CThe person was not at the counter top turn in the vehicle. The fuel surcharge is not accurate or fair. 5/8 of a tank is not marked and impossible to hit it exactly so I was charged 9,5 for 2 gallons of gas that I was supposedly short. That is excessive as gasoline at the closest station, 1 Mile away from dropoff, is $3,55 per gallon

john cThe people at the Walpole, NH Aubuchon Hardware are fantastic! They are just wonderful. I have nothing but praise for them. They sincerely care about their clientele. It is always a pleasure to go to that store for supplies and whatever. This time, it was a moving truck and they took good care of me. They also agreed that my following concerns were justified. Having said that, I have a lot to complain about on U-Haul's end! This was a large GM truck that was a junk heap! As far as I could tell, it had the original shocks with 181,000+ miles on them and it rode like the proverbial buckboard! I could feel fly wings if I drove over them! I'm amazed that our load survived! The maintenance on this vehicle was apparently ZERO! It was beaten up pretty badly on the outside but, that's not an issue. The fact that it had suspension problems was an issue. If anyone does rent one of these heaps they had better use LOTS and LOTS of extra padding in every box that they load! As for the cabin, well, let's start with the fact that it smelled like an ash tray! The last moronic pig who had it smoked like a chimney and I had to drive with the windows open to help reduce the smell! Even though there was a no smoking badge in plain sight! (I do NOT fault the Aubuchon staff for this because they just couldn't smell it when they were outside of the vehicle checking it in.) The floor could have used a sweeping because it was full of dirt, ashes and a few cigarette butts UNDER THE SEATS! However, it is a big truck and the weather hasn't been very nice as of late which I will consider as a handicap. Also, they are a bit understaffed and quite busy so THEY get a pass for missing the cab floor. They did sweep out the cargo bay and it was open for inspection when I arrived to pick it up. Next was the driver's seat. It had such a rake to the seat back that I am still recovering from that drive! I had it as upright as it would go and it was never upright! It is raked back to the point where I thought I was laying down instead of sitting upright which made it difficult to control the vehicle. It also gave me a severe neck and back ache which then led to a nasty headache. The headache was further aggravated by the asthma attack brought on by the foul stench from those filthy smokers! I'm just glad I had my meds and inhaler with me! If I need another truck I may well consider using a different company. As noted, the staff at Aubuchon were wonderful and I praise them highly. Especially, since this was the only rig left available. However, the lack of maintenance by U-Haul gives me cause to think about it. Fortunately, I highly doubt that I will be needing any such truck within the foreseeable future. At best, I may only need a pickup truck and I can get a better truck and rate at the local Toyota dealer if I do need one. They take VERY GOOD care of their equipment! Also, they do NOT forgive people who smoke in them and fine them heavily! For the last time I wish to make it perfectly clear that the staff at Aubuchon was fantastic. The truck was a severe let down. Regardless, we completed our mission which was to move my ex wife and her stuff back home. I have a suggestion for the brass at corporate. I believe that you should make it a policy to send the vehicles out with a FULL TANK OF FUEL and require it to be FILLED UPON RETURN OR PAY FOR IT! That would make things much easier than trying to run back and forth to a questionable fuel gauge! Trying to determine how many gallons have been used and returning the tank to the level when delivered is really stupid! Have the agent check the tank and if necessary, go fill it up! Then, bill the clown who did not fill it up upon return. That is how most rental companies work. It is far easier to do that than to have a pissing contest over 1/16th of a tank when the gauges are not certified to be dead on accurate. I should think that the boys at the top of the ladder would have thought of that decades ago. Maybe that's expecting too much from college grads and career executives in the world of today. End of rant. Take it for what it is worth.

Jeff PThis is the fifth time I've rented and each time it has been excellent.
Jeff PI think U-Haul could do a lot better. 1. I was given too large a vehicle. I only needed to move a mattress and box spring, which would have fit into a van. Perhaps there was no van in the lot at that moment, though there certainly was when I returned a few hours later. But I don't believe that was even mentioned, and I was given a 10' truck. (A 16' truck was also suggested!) It turned out to get ca. 13 miles/gallon ($40 worth of gas to go 130 miles); surely a van would have done better. 2. The mileage rate of $1,29 (not including gas, of course) seems very steep--more than double the official IRS depreciation rate of $.62 for trucks in business use. Not that U-Haul shouldn't be allowed a profit margin, of course, but this is excessive. 3. The truck's tires were utterly unsuited to a New Hampshire winter. The truck had trouble even climbing hills on the tarred road, and in my unpaved driveway it twice got seriously stuck. I hope I never again have to use U-Haul.
Mark SI originally reserved the truck in Springfield, Vt a week before I needed it. I was later called by UHaul and told that I can only get the truck I need at the Walpole, NH. location. Why can't UHaul ,make arrangements ahead of time to move the truck to the requested location with advanced notice?

Harneet STo charge me what uhaul did for the service I received is just crazy I had to pay for a whole day of using the uhaul van that I was assigned and it was broken down the whole time. Uhaul had someone come service the van I was using and they deemed it not safe but I was forced to use it anyways it took 12 hrs to get a replacement from uhaul after going back and forth I was threatened that if ANYTHING was to go wrong with the replacement I was fully 100 % responsible for it the customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with and the company I picked up the uhaul from was very rude and disrespectful I'll never use uhaul again and I will spread my experience with the world

Victoria HI did not want to use this location. I was supposed to pick it up 10 minutes away in Hillsboro, but I was forced to drive an hour away and an hour back, having to pay for gas for both my car and a UHaul truck. Now I know that is how you do business, I will not use UHaul again.
Lucille CUhual's inability to have a full tank of gas when beginning allowing for easier customer experience to just fill it back up at the end of the day baffles me. Great location, customer service but the gas component makes me not want to utilize uhaul.
Justin AWell the Aubuchon hardware store was more than helpful this location was one hour from where our reservation was confirmed. This caused great inconvenience and hardship to an already busy and stressful move. U-Haul gave us extra mileage and an extra day which offered us no benefit. We needed the two hours. We had people hired to help with the move. This caused an added expense to us because of the incompetence in confirming a reservation that was not available. U-Haul did not even give us 24 hours notice which would have allowed us to come up with a back up plan. We will never rent from U-Haul again you have lost us as a customer. After spending 53 minutes on hold the customer service representative offered nothing. We expect a $100 credit to compensate us for the loss of time And inconvenience in having to drive in additional two hours round-trip to secure vehicle that we were promised would be available in Lebanon New Hampshire.
STANLEY LBeen renting trucks from this location for about 7 months. Always had a good experience with the employees. As far as U-Haul though my experience has really been challenging. I operate and own a moving company in rural Vermont. Most costumers are moving a distance away I need to rent trucks for a certain amount of time. And they don't allow that. I have been threatened and told I will not be allowed to rent trucks if I don't have the trucks back on time. I am at a loss over this. I have people's belongings on a truck and no place to put it until I can get to the place to unload. I spend thousands of dollars every week with this agencies and that doesn't seem to matter to this company. They are now starting in September only renting trucks for a 8 hour period at a time. I have no clue how anyone with more then a studio apartment can pack, load a truck drive 180 miles, unload and have a truck back in 8 hours. It is impossible. To me U-Haul is making it impossible for anyone to move.
