This was my 2nd UHaul experience. On the first one, they kept moving my pick up location farther and farther away until I cancelled it and had to rent a closer truck that was triple the price at the last minute. In this 2nd experience, the truck stalled the minute I left the parking lot. I got it going and had to let it heat up for about 5 minutes. Luckily I didn't have to go too far, but the engine sounded like it was gonna explode. So loud and a struggle to get it up to 40km/h. UHaul also forgot to include the dolly I had booked, so we had to lug a bunch of heavy stuff with out it. All in all, the experience was pretty sketch. Also, the online check-in where they have to call a reference before they will give you a key also feels super weird. They really make the customer feel like you're guilty until proven innocent. Will I rent again to save the money - maybe. But would I recommend it? No.

I was over charged and am still waiting for Uhaul to help with this exceptional scam this location has going. The fact the I wasn't aware there was link coming to me to verify the mileage that soon expired anyways was really unprofessional. Normally I would sign off on the mileage via a contract.

We appreciated that our truck was there for us, however we didn't like finding out on our moving day that the extra equipment we had included in our order hadn't been provided. We had to scramble at the last minute to locate an alternative and that's not very good customer service - particularly during a pandemic.

Shortage of equipment made the rental inconvenient and meant having to travel to another location for pick up of equipment despite reserving online. After hours drop off instructions were unclear, now having to pay additional charges despite not doing either of the things I am getting charged for- very unimpressed.

The guy who was renting me the truck was extremely rude and sketchy. I thought I was getting scammed from how pushy he was about my credit card information. No people skills whatsoever, he didn't want to answer any of my questions and I was being completely calm the entire time. A terrible experience overall. I'm also supposed to get money back from sweeping the truck, which I didn't.

Fire the old man at this location. That would improve the experience, having quality people with excellent customer service skills. I told that old man (using two pairs of glasses to see) that his customer service was horrible and he told me there is the door you can leave. I told him I just needed to get the service I already booked online. I saw that the reviews were extremely low but I did not care as it was the closest store from my address. Biggest mistake because just dealing with that asshole for 5 mins can make any person's day a very bad one. Imagine for me that I was lifting furniture all day for days and then this idiot calls the police because according to him I was a danger for him. Just a young professional lady that is an expert in customer service, of course I'm not a danger for him. He is a danger to be in front of customers. He does nor have people skills and should never be working facing customers or people. Worst experience ever.

Give us our preferred location, or at least help us understand the factors that prevent you from giving us the preferred location. Dignity Auto Repairs (my preferred) is a block away from me. 374 Dupont Street was 2.9km away from me and I was angry that I was notified of the change the morning of. Also, 374 Dupont smelled of cigarette smoke..

There was nobody at the office when I arrived. A man working on washing a car told me to leave the key on the counter and I could close the rental online. Nobody checked the truck for condition or cleanliness. I had added fuel to the start level before arriving at the office, but I was charged for a fuel charge. This location is not worthy of operating under the U-Haul banner, but it does not show a U-Haul sign anywhere on the site. I suggest that the company checks the validity of their agreement with you.

There was cardboard and a couple of receipts in the truck. Not a big deal but it only takes a second to take out before the next customer. Now makes me think that the truck wasn't sanitized prior to my rental.

We were not told that we had to fill up the gas tank and were charged a $30 dollar penalty fee which I find very sneaky and rude. According to google, this seems to happen a lot with U-Haul.

1) The pick up time was changed 30 min. before I needed the van. That resulted in major issues for my time windows. 2) The van I rented was substituted for a track without telling me, again last minute. I had issues parking and driving in the city because of it. 3) The track consumed 12 dollars of gas, for just 10 miles. That is way too expensive. 4) Customer service was aweful, I was on the phone for 30 min and no answer.

Employees were rude and attempted to communicate via hand signal instead of just asking questions. Before taking the p/u they required a call to the manager but did not explain why and expected use of personal device for this. Vehicle was given with minimal fuel in it, yet was expected to be returned with more. I at no point in my checkout process requested furniture pads yet can see on my check out and final invoice I was given these and charged for them. (I paid for the reservation but a friend was listed as primary driver and made p/u. Didn't know these shouldn't have been included) The check out requirements are ridicules. Calls to employers and family members, presenting your passport or providing lease agreements are all very over the top requests to rent a vehicle when you already have credit card and drivers license info.

the worst experience I had in truck rental. the truck was dirty with used masks inside, the attendant was terrible and very unfriendly. in my order there was a doly that was not in the truck. Did not have furniture dolly that was ordered - only told when we reached location. furniture pads were not folded and just left scattered in the truck. Truck was very old and had issues with mobile return so was charged an additional fee the next day.

It was just a key drop-off, but the location was pretty sketchy as well...maybe U-Hall should be a bit more discerning about what service stations they affiliate themselves with. The rental vehicle worked just fine, the pick-up and drop-off experience / customer service was dreadful.

No one was present. The parking lot is in rough shape and instructions on obtaining keys was very unclear. Car was clean and uHaul itself was nice, just the pick-up location was really rough.

This was by far the worst experience renting a uhaul truck. The guy at the counter gave me no notice in advance that the location did not have any equipment (dolly, cart, blankets). He just erased them from my reservation without notice. I had to move a 2 bedroom apartment without a dolly. The costumer service was even worse. I called to let them know the situation and they did nothing, and offered no help. To conclude, the app was not working at the time of return. This was an awful experience and expect some compensation.

I have been charged $90+ for gas for a 16km trip. I expected a gas charge as I did not top up the tank before returning the vehicle, but this amount is unjustifiably high. Also I selected contactless/self-service pickup but was directed to an office when I arrived at the location.

I got my van, and it was clean. The driver's side window did not work though. It rolled down but wouldn't come up. I noticed this after about 5km and when I told the pickup location, he told me to go to the Rexdale location. I went there, and had to unload the van, and then go, after waiting to get approval that it was ok to return the van back to my original location. The second van was ok at least. An hour wasted on a day I was already busy on. Anyhow, that's that. In the future, I would suggest you check your vans better prior to renting them out. There's no way I was the first to notice the window wouldn't close.

Site Manager was rude - accusing me of not having pre-paid, which I had, and offered no apology when I showed him my credit card statement with the transaction having gone through. The office stank of cigarette smoke and was generally unpleasant to be in.

Uhaul was horrendous. We arrived at the location that was selected and were told that U-Haul changed our location. Uhaul changed our location to somewhere so outside of Toronto it would have been impossible for me to pick up the truck! Without sending an email stating the changed it!!!! So I almost didn't have a truck for moving day. Luckily the man at the counter said he had a truck but we would need to return it in 3 hours. It was the most stressful move of my life. I can only imagine if he didn't have the truck and then I wouldn't have been able to move out of my house at all! What the fuck guys. I would like a refund.

The truck I had booked with a competitor fell out on short notice. Kaz went out of his way to make sure I had a suitable truck on a day that I needed. He saved the day.

The time requested for was based on booking of service elevator and the one that was confirmed was at the end of the booking - Service elevator was booked after booking the u haul! Furniture pads and utility dolly were requested for, however neither was there. Not too sure on the viability of using u haul again with such a terrible and unfortunate experience.

I was charged extra charges when I returned the truck during office hours. No one was there. I used the after hours key drop and online app. I was still charged the After Hours Service Fee. I was also charged for gas that wasn't accurate. (I have photos of the fuel gauge. The local dealer wouldn't help me and told me to call 1-800. Now I have to wait for a district manager to call me back.

Customer service was extremely rude and not helpful. I ordered a furniture dolly and a stand up dolly, both weren't at the pick up site. I had to waste time going to home depot to buy one to use. As a result we were late for our elevator time and had to pay more. If you are not going to provide the equipment it would be nice to know in advance not the day of. Also the return was horrible the app couldn't use location services to verify that I was at the drop off area. I had to use a friend's phone on an obscure browser for it to work. The whole experience was horrible, I probably will use budget or any other rental company next time I have to move.

Please honour request. (Dolly not Provided despite being booked) User App is not at all user friendly. The attendant was pissed because he had to work hrs after his shift. Since the app isn't user friendly he helped check-in online. And I was charged overtime despite returning the vehicle 2 hours early

Reserved and paid for furniture pads that were not at the store when we arrived. we reserved multiple days in advance, and if the location had notified us that they were unable to provide this service we could have made alternative arrangements. As it was, we were set back multiple hours and therefore had to pay for more in gas than anticipated. In addition the person we interacted with was very unhelpful and rude, we left the store confused as to how the drop off worked. We refilled the gas tank to where it was when we received but then were charged extra for it upon return. The person running the U-Haul didn't look to see where the gas was when we picked up the truck. And if we were supposed to take a picture before hand, we were unaware because he was so obstinate in helping us. Overall, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Would strongly reconsider ever renting from U-Haul again.

I booked the van rental at 6 hours, picked up at 1 pm and dropped off at 6:45, so was shocked to see about $50 in additional charges for dropping off after hours (a $30 fill up fee for $10 worth of gas? Really??)

Our van was rented to us with no gas in the tank. The van is advertised as 19.95 plus milage and fees. Our final bill was over a hundred dollars for 16km of driving. We were charged a 30$ fuel fee dispite having been rented a nearly empty van. We feel mislead and we will not be using this location or u-haul going forward.

The service was acceptable, no surprises. The location is convenient for me so I used it. I did get a run around when I tried booking through the number displayed in the front of the store but when I booked online everything went smoothly and predictably.

Kill your scumbag staff, and then yourselves for advertising a "$19" day rate that adds up to $60 in unspoken surcharges that I have to find out when I get my bill from you. Oh, and it looks like I returned the truck from my total 5 km trip with a micrometer less than 1/4 tank, so I guess it'll be about $80 now, huh? Not that anyone ever thought to mention that, because, as established, you're scum and the only way you'll save your ugly soul is if you write a letter to your loved ones (if anyone can stand the sight of you, that is), then leave it on the table and jab the pen into your neck. You. Yes, you. Truck works fine though. Very spacious.

The owner kept accusing me of it being fault that when I showed up the keys were locked in the truck. He said it would have never happens if I hadn't been late. He then accused my wife of locking the keys in the truck even though we literally just showed up. Be said I would have to pay the tow-truck driver to open the door. He then left with me having to wait for the tow truck driver to show up. The whole thing was horrible. I'll never use UHaul again.

They didn't have the furniture dolly and furniture pads that I ordered, but I was promptly given a refund. My understanding is that a lot of things were out of stock due to the pandemic, so I don't blame Baga at all.

Do not rent here!!! Scam alert!!! They overcharged me for gas even though I filled the tank to what it was when I got the truck. I have proof of it, before and after photos of the dashboard. They overcharged me late fee even though I brought the truck back within the 4 hour timeline and dropped the keys off in the side bin because nobody was there. This was at 1:30pm. I have proof of this as well, gas receipt.... SCAM Do not rent here!!!!!

The man working at this location is a rude and unhelpful. He refused to come to the van to confirm damage on the vehicle before we left the lot, waving me off dismissively and saying "take a picture". He said we would need to complete the online check out when we returned the vehicle, but failed to mention it had to be done before we locked the vehicle and returned the key. While I had taken a picture of the odometer, your system would not allow me to upload it. the vehicle itself needs cleaning with lots of waste from previous renters. I will most certainly never use this location again and question whether I will use Uhaul again. The practice of making people send in photos of their drivers license is deeply unsettling and an invasion of privacy.

Overall easy to get my truck and a good central location. When I called the location (because the door was locked, within working hours) the guy walked me through how to get access to my truck. In getting a little bit confused by his descriptions, he continuously yelled at me. It was very unpleasant and a poor customer experience.

The equipment was very dirty, there's chocolate melted in the cupholder, so dusty and smells very awful inside. For an hour trip and used 10kilometres ang pay 69$ is not worth it. I felt i scam. I would never rent again with this f*****g asshole again. Sorry for my word but i had a horrible experienced with uhaul davenport.
