The employee couldn’t locate the keys to the van. After an hour of searching he informed me that I wouldn’t be able to use the van I had reserved and I would have to go to the SE Marine Drive location instead. I was told that the charges to my credit card had been reversed and that I would also receive compensation for the inconvenience, but so far neither of those claims have proven to be true.

If the fuel for the vehicle was full. It was only an eight full and they want you to return it exactly the same, which is very tough to match. Why not have it full always like every other rental that requires the user to refill?

Inform the customer that there are numerous hidden fees! Upon booking for 4 hours my bill was 35$ which included collision insurance. The rep said I didn't have to add gas to the tank. What wasn’t mentioned was that there would be a $30 charge! On top of that I paid another $60 in extra fees and taxes so my final bill was $122. This was totally unexpected. I was looking for a van to transport a couch and that was way above what I consider acceptable, especially as I didn’t know about it.

Learn to read a gas guage. They insisted I didn't fill the tank to where it was when I got it and incorrectly stated how much was in the tank to start with. They put one quarter tank instead of the correct one eighth of a tank and also tried to add 5.5km to the mileage reading, then called me a list when I attempted to correct them. Not impressed! I will be submitting a formal complaint and WILL NOT be using U-Haul again.

There was only one gas station close by -- a PetroCan, some difficulty with filling up as the gas pump nozzle didn't fit the Van properly. It was a struggle to get even 2litres in the tank! Some sort of adapter might work.

The clerk was pretty friendly, although definitely some areas of opportunity for the location and U-Haul. Getting the truck took much longer, as we needed to remove the furniture dolly from my order since they did not have it at the location (even though I rented it when booking). They also needed to enter my credit card information upon check-in, though I had already done it on the app. When I asked about it, he didn't have an answer as to why it didn't go through from when I booked. Just took some more time to grab the truck and go. I was also charged fro Safe Ride insurance when I did not select to purchase this.

The staffs were nice here but one of them is not familiar with the process and the other one works on fixing the wifi there. So I had waited for 1 hour before I got and returned the equipment. Hopefully they will be better with the process. The van was good and clean although it smelled like it had been used to carry some cattles.
