NORMA GIVENSI need a UHaul truck or van 4-6 times a year. My preference is to rent exclusively from Big Mikes Food Mart (39777). The vehicles are clean and always ready when promised.

Michael HydornI would recommend the location as far as the actual truck rental goes. However, I needed equipment and booked equipment on the website. Upon arrival they did not have it. Would have like to have been told in advance as it cut about an hour into my time to go rent it from Home Depot. I feel I should've been refunded that time.

They tried to scam me into just giving them the key (he took the key and I had to go back in and get) and just giving them my email address and there was nothing else I needed to do. Well I am glad I read the contract because I would have been charged the $20 fee. Also after I completed the return process, I went back inside to return the key and was told that need that they did take it. I asked were do I drop it off, I was told "China"…. Really. He then told me to go find it outside! I was thinking about going on social media to warn people NOT drop it there, this place is bad news! One other thing I wasn't happy about - When I set up the reservation I gave my home address and the final destination. The reservation gave me 86 miles and it ended up being 26 over, and I all I drive was from the pick up point to the starting point to final destination to the drop off point.was kind of surprised to see the excessive charges.

Hannah StofferWe rented a truck for 6 hours to move within Tampa at Big Mikes Food Mart. The guy behind the counter (Tall, overweight, maybe 350lbs and in his 30s) became agitated when I asked him in the morning when they were closing later that day so I could bring the truck in time before they closed. I did not make much of his rude answer at that time thinking maybe he is having a bad day. When I returned around 5pm, I informed him politely and in what I consider a normal voice that the truck was parked in the correct place, that we returned it with 1/4 tank more fuel than when we borrowed it and that I made sure it was clean. I then had the "audacity" to ask if I could get a receipt showing that the truck was returned on time or if everything was done online. That is when things took a turn for the worst. The guy behind the counter, same as in the morning, started screaming at me so loud that the store came to a complete halt. I stayed calm and turned around wondering if he was yelling at somebody else. I have never seen anything like this from a U-Haul rental location. The guys in Wesley Chapel are completely different than this guy. I think he may be suffering from bipolar disorder or some other kind of mental condition. Be aware that he has a very very short fuse and you are not allowed to ask him any questions. I will never rent a truck from this guy again. He refused to tell me his name when I asked him. DO NOT RENT FROM HIM. Note to U-HAUL management, you need to check on this guy. You have a law suit waiting for you in the near future. He called me names, screamed and even threw the truck keys at me. I prayed for him in the car on the way home.

Risa GrizzardMy complaint is that we reserved a dolly months in advance, however the day of, we were told they didn't have any dolly's. The dolly was essential for our move, that's why we reserved it. They should hold the dollys for the people that day with reservations.

Christopher ComeyCustomer service was terrible, very unorganized. Originally made my reservation for $29 and 0,99 cents per mile. The guy told me there was a 20 mile minimum so my cost went up & on top of that they charged me this morning $26 for 5 gallons of gas. I traveled a total of 16 miles, the 15' truck gets 10 miles per gallon, so if used less than 2 gallons, why in the world was I charged so much for gas? This place was very unclear & very sketchy about their operations. Would not go back. Went from spending $30-45 to now being charged $90.
Thomas Marshalli rented a utility dolly, got there and they said they dont have any. When i returned the vehicle 3 hours early, they said i was good to go then i was contacted the next morning saying my rental is over due. i was told by uhaul to contact the place i got it from and they do not respond. i better not be charged for overdue equipment.

Megan Hallhorrible experience. i reserve weeks ahead of time, request 2 locations not 5 minutes from my loading area, they give me a pick up place a half hour each way away. 15 minutes before pick up they call, no truck, i have to travel another hour each way. they say theyll credit me $50, no credit and to top it off, they sent me so far i had to go on a toll road and now im getting billed for the tolls! Ludicrous! poor poor service.although when we finally got to the pick up location they were very nice and knowledgable
Mary KanarvogelPlease have better visual communication/directions for renting/picking-up/dropping-off U-Haul vehicles/equipment. Very little visual /or other communication was observed during my U-Haul rental experience with Big Mike's Food Mart. When I first came by to check out the U-Haul rental availability, the cashier barely knew what to say or what was available. Upon returning to rent a vehicle, the cashier had to call other personnel up to the front to actually conduct the transaction. Upon returning the vehicle, I parked right outside, to allow store personnel convenience to come right outside to inspect the vehicle and retrieve mileage/fuel notations. Instead, the store personnel handed me a sticky note, told me to write down the mileage, go park the truck, quite a distance away, in another parking lot next door. I did that and returned back to the store with mileage recorded, only for the rental personnel to close/lock the store's front door and left me standing outside for a few minutes in dismay and wonder. (???). The store personnel proceeded to walk a distance away, where the truck was parked, in the parking lot next door, to retrieve the mileage. (???). That was the logical thinking when I first arrived, to conveniently park out front upon returning the vehicle, so that the store personnel inside could come out to check mileage/fuel, condition, etc., while the truck was still conveniently parked out front. Maybe I was wrong and that's just not the way that they do things at Big Mike's Food Mart with their U-Haul Rental operation. So, from my experience, I will say that there's much to be desired when it comes to this store's clearly communicating or its operation being logically conducted. But, other than that, they're nice, happy people to deal with & they are conveniently located to the Home Depot. So in a pinch, it works for me!

Then when I asked about options, they got defensive, instead of helpful. Happy I never have to do business with them again. Place is a fucking shithole too, and I would never go there again.

Elsa PerezIf and I mean IF you absolutely need a Uhaul and nothing is available elsewhere, DO NOT rent from this location. The owners are nothing but scum and will do what they can to cheat you and not take accountability when they are wrong despite having proof of pictures. They charged me for 30 miles when total miles were 10. They also charged me $30 fuel charge as well. Their system had the wrong miles and fuel gauge indicator. I went back and showed them proof from pics I took prior to leaving the lot and when it was dropped off in which the pics also show timestamp yet still said it was my fault and not theirs. Asked them how it was my fault and was told that when I picked up the truck, a text message was sent and that I was supposed to go to the text to update things through that. Told the guy at the counter that he never told me about doing this or at least give me a heads up. All he did was give me the key and from there, I asked if that was all and he said yes. Proceeds to tell me that it is not their responsibility to tell me about the extra steps I needed to take. They stood their laughing as if the fact that I had proof and called them out didn't matter, yep scum! So a quick call to Uhaul, explained the situation, they agreed and asked me to send them the pics showing proof with timestamp and boom...$78,83 refund.
Charles WrightThey didn't have a furniture dolly after I reserved one. Second the truck was old and beat up. However it did the job. One thing that needs to be changed is the side mirrors do not turn which can be hazardous

Lukas AndersonI contacted U Haul and was sent to several different locations before I found a location with a truck that I needed. I was grateful for finally getting a truck after a few failed attempts. Big Mike personally rented me the truck that I needed. The truck was fine. In very clean condition. Although it might not have been the fault of the other locations that didn't have a truck available. Big Mike had the trucks and was extremely helpful to me.

Kelly OliverI don't have an issues with this location. I have an issues with reservations. I reserved a truck at the Hillsboro location. When I went to pick it up they sent me 10 miles away. I don't care if I got a text the day before. Don't allow people to reserve equipment and then change it. Location is important thus the reason I reserved there. Your systems is fucked up and not customer friendly. And the attitude of the staff at Hillsboro was unacceptable. Uhaul will never be my first choice again.

Anthony Ligenzaonly one problem is that you deliver it at the time it is and since it is closed they tell you to park it on one side and throw the keys in a mailbox and when you check they tell you that you delivered it an hour later
Wilfredo PerezThe trucks battery died and I tried calling the location for assistance 15 times and did not get anyone to answer and I could not leave a voicemail. I had to call AAA at my own expense to have the truck jumped and had to wait 3 hours to get the car jumped, which delayed my move. When I went to return the truck I mentioned this to the employee and he asked me why I did not call the 1-800 phone number, because he wouldn't have been able to help me anyways. I responded that I was never given or told about the phone number and I would have been able to figure that out if the phone would have been answered. He mentioned that he would wave all of the fees, but then mentioned I needed to refill the gas tank which was only given to me at 1/4 of a tank. There were no other fees to waive. This experience was absolutely terrible as I was given a faulty truck and the employee did in no way apologize and was willing to accommodate my troubles for the day.
