Two days before pick-up, our location was changed to a place that was 15 miles further away and not open when we needed to pick up. We were not told we could do an "after hours" pick up. So we lost 45 minutes for that. Then the truck was stuck in mud, which delayed us another hour, so we almost missed the closing on our new house. We were flat out pissed off about how UHaul handled things. If it were not for some very nice people who worked at that office and lived nearby, we never would have gotten the truck and would have been unable to move the few things we needed for such a small truck.Dennis D.

Horrible experience with Uhaul. Assigned us 4 boxes in the system instead of the two we used. Could not fix it. The mover we contracted through Uhaul never showed up which put us in a bind to find someone to pick up our uboxes that were 100 miles away from our new home two days before Thanksgiving. Our dealing with Uhaul was a nightmare. The only help we received was from the kind receptionist at the winchester location who tried all day to resolve the problem (she could not) and our new neighbors who personally drove the 100 miles to go get our uboxes.Maria K.

This location was closed on Saturday the 13th when I returned the uhaul truck also closed on Sunday the 14th. They were open on Monday the 15th. There was a lady and gentleman that really didnt even know what they were doing. The reason I went to that location on Monday the 15th was because I spoke with Twanda Uhaul rep on Monday the 15th because she said the truck was not returned yet. I told her I live about 2 miles away from location and I will go over there. She also gave me ref #1671641. I spoke with Allison at Capital was not helpful at all. After all this and she was probably the lady that was at the location on Monday the 15th she called me today the 16th for my discover credit card security code so they can charge me an extra day because the uhaul truck was suppose to be returned on Friday the 12th. I explain to her that I am waiting to hear back from the General Manager for Uhaul because the weather was horrible rain ice snow on Thur the 11th that I could not use the uhaul truck. So I called Fri the 12th and explain this issue for a free extra day. Still waiting for Manager to call me.Javier R.

This place was a mess... Other than the fact it was almost 100 miles away from my desired pickup location, it was a disaster inside. The folks were nice as could be but I wanted to get out. Below this is a note for U-Haul in general: To whom it may concern, Hello, my name is Justin LeBlanc. I recently rented a U-haul truck going from Lincoln, IL to Lansing, MI confirmation number (). I understand that I am one of many thousands that you were helping move this holiday weekend, but I must make note of a poor customer service experience and the reason I will not be using U-haul trucks in the future. I understand that it was a very busy weekend for u-haul trucks, and I made my reservation only a week ahead of time. I was unable to make my reservation earlier due to unforeseen circumstances. However, not only was the original tuck size that I wanted unavailable (I had to downsize and may not be able to move everything this weekend). The telephone call I was supposed to receive to confirm my pickup location and time never came. To ensure that I would still have a rental truck, I called my preferred pickup location (???) the day before. Not only did he not have a truck available as requested; he referred me back to corporate to sort out the reservation. The corporate headquarters informed me that there were no rental trucks available at all in Lincoln and that the closest one was more than an hour away (70+ miles). This is unsatisfactory. Due to this poor customer service and the ineptitude to schedule properly, I will no longer consider U-haul for my rental needs in the future. I find this a disappointment as I am a young man, recently married, and new home owner who will have many rental needs in the future. Sincerely, Justin LeBlancJustin L.

The truck would not send a charge through to the trailer when got it hooked up, had to go to a 3rd uhaul to get it fixed. Didn't test it first.kara N.
I understand everyone has to learn, but the idea of someone finalizing a contract and collecting money for the first time, I feel it is very important as well as crucial for their to be another person standing by to help or assist if needed. The lady finalizing my contract did not have a clue as to what she was doing and told me several times that this was her first time. I made my reservation through the Internet and instructed to pick up at this location. It took 40 minutes to sign the contract, pay with a debit card and receive the keys! I was very upset due to the fact I had scheduled my movers to be at my residence at 1:30 to complete their job. Needless to say I was late! The papers/contract also showed the gas level to be full and it was to the left of the full mark, nowhere close to being full! I not only paid for fuel to drive the extra 18 miles in my own automobile, but in the U-haul as well. There was a lot of extra expense having to pick up the truck 18 miles away. Yes I was allowed the extra 18 miles on my mileage, but no allowance for the fuel tank not being full and the fuel and time spent in my own automobile. The truck was clean, drove good and the destination where I returned it to was awesome!!!!Kathy C.
