Better self check in process on cell phone, would not work on my cell, location services are active on the phone, but the self check in would not work, had to use friends cell phone, if I was alone, would not be able to complete self check, would be waiting on hold for an hour with uhaulJACOBD R.

The pick up location was great, very friendly and professional. The U-Haul corporation has a lot to be desired. They waited until the evening before I was scheduled to pick up the equipment to call and tell me I had to go four counties away, a 90 minute drive each way, to get the equipment instead of my local dealer 2 miles from my house. They should have transported the equipment to my dealer or given me more notice. Not a great business model. What happened to customer service being job #1?BRUCE A.

I ordered a dozen blankets, which were not in the truck as I was told they would be. Called 3 times to try to get some, waited on hold over 20 minutes each time, never got any. I was told I would be refunded for the charge, but never was.Roland W.

This location does not accept returns and is not actually in business at this address. I had to return the truck at another U-Haul location without any guidance or assistance - wait times on hold were 30+ minutes and there is no chat function on the website. Just a huge mess, will never rent from U-Haul again for a one way move.Eric P.
Hard to tell from just the reservation info that we'd have to drive around to the back of the building to find the truck - no signs except for seeing the truck back there - but after that it was smooth sailing, there's no need to have anyone there to help you, just use the uhaul site on your phone and you'll get a code to get the keys out of the lock box. If you need help from someone, maybe do not choose this location as that could get confusing and they're closed on the weekend.Stefan M.

Contactless pick up is a little confusing. It would.be smart to give customers a heads up with what to expect. Perhaps give them an opportunity to upload documents needed beforehand. A passport!? The truck was clean and ready though. Once I got through the process, I was on my way.Valerie G.

My original pick up date/time was for Sunday. When arriving to pick up self truck and following all instructions the truck was completely blocked in by another U-Haul and I could not get the truck out. I then called the company where truck was stored and then were off for the day. I called U-Haul they told me it could be fixed and I waited on the phone back and forth for two hours while they tried to make new accommodations then finally said they would give me another truck on the lot, they then did the contract and gave me the numbers and that truck too was blocked in. They told me there was nothing they could do and that they could only accommodate me at another location which was 45 minutes from mahwah. This was absurd as we were already waiting around two hours I had to cancel my move for the day and try again the following day. The following day all went well however I am now being charged to separate charges and would like an explanation. Our U-Haul experience was horrible and I would never recommenced again to anyoneKaitlyn F.

The staff is great and worked around my schedule. I rented a 15 foot truck and it was in good condition and I had no issues. Finding them isn't difficult, their entrance is in the rear of the office building, with the uhaul trucks standing out front.daniel L.

It was extremely difficult to find the drop off location. The instructions were terrible and this company's name was not anywhere on the building. The only way I knew that it was the U-Haul drop off was I saw some other U-Hauls parked out back, behind the building. There was no place for me to park so I had to park in front of other trailers. First time user, would be helpful to know that setting up a reservation on the phone with the local agent on Friday does not set up your account when you need it on Sunday morning to access the keys. Account set up should be done first, before rental or it does not show up on your account. Sunday morning, local agent number went to voice mail, 25 minute wait on U-Haul 800 number hold, very helpful phone staff walked me through the account set up process, it requires phone-a-friend as a reference so be ready for that. Also, don't drop keys into the lockbox before you realize the 24/7 web checkout service requires photos of the mileage & gas...JAMES R.

The gentleman was very nice but the renter in front of me had he reservation held for a pending review. Once I started the pickup process on the iPhone app it hung for 10-15 minutes while my ID was approved. In all I arrived at 8am and didn't leave with the truck until 8:30. Last time I rented a u-haul I walked into a scruffy gas station but I was out in 5 minutes. Your technology looks good but sorely lacks in execution.Joseph F.

Upon arrival to get my truck rental from a lock box. I was not informed I needed an app on my phone. And I had no battery left, and I'm not phone savvy. So because know one took the time to pre warn me of what was required it took me 2 hours and like 6 people from u haul to walk me through. An awful experience and so stressful. Also when I got to key for my signed truck there was another truck blocking me in. I had to back over a curb and on to grass to get out. Best part when returned uhaul rep gave me a ride to my moving semi 1,5 miles away. Ty Carl BesemerCarl B.

The number of U-haul trucks parked out back should be an indicator of the location, but given that the entrance is hidden, it is still difficult to locate the place. I highly recommend the addition of signage at the entrance as well as in front of the trucks.Wayne K.

The return policy should have been explained better at the beginning. I dropped the key into the box (because the shop was closed on Sunday) and then discovered I was supposed to take all of these "confirmation photos". I had already locked the truck and was unable to take the photos.Steve L.
