The truck smelt REALLY bad, almost as if someone had carried manure in it!! The windscreen was very dirty, had a film inside it so when car lights came towards you it was difficult to see. The gentleman in the store is always very friendly and helpful.

The seat of the uhaul truck wasn't comfortable for a three hour drive. It only had 60k miles on it, but the seat felt worn out.

the equipment was clean but there was a check engine light that was on when I picked up the truck. I found out it was a known issue after calling back in to ask about it. Overall, the folks were courteous and friendly

I have used this U-Haul location in Apex North Carolina probably a dozen times over the years and every time, it is a five-star experience! Whoever your person is that runs that franchise is very meticulous and takes great care of every customer!

My initial reservation was canceled with short notice(voicemail) that the vehicle would be at a different location. I called the new location, and they had no vehicle or knowledge of my reservation. I was told that they would call corporate office to look into it and the individual hung up. Leaving me in a horrible situation. They did not even ask me for my number or tell me that they would call me back. This is unacceptable. I was totally inconvenienced on this day!! Reservation #25250246

The location is a “desk” inside of a street convenient store and smelled terrible. When I rented the truck the gentleman processed and took photos of my ID on his phone, not a computer set up. Then the printed receipt was so bad that 1/3 of the page is missing informs you cannot see. I got the keys and went trudging through some nasty vacant lot place to find the truck because he just gave me the keys and didn't tell me which one it was or brought it to the front. He never did a walk around with me so I did my own video for my protection. I took a picture of mileage and noticed the fuel was not full like he said it was. After I drove off I was able to see on the receipt that I was charged $14 for insurance that I specifically declined and a dolly I never asked for. We used the truck for not even a full hour and put 8 miles on it. The truck had the hardest time going over 30mph and when idling would buck and shake. The inside was so dirty, looks like it was left with the windows down during a dust storm. As I arrived to drop off the truck I pulled it to the side and went in to return and go over all the discrepancies and get a receipt. The gentleman acted surprised the fuel was not full and admitted to charging me the insurance and proceeded to tell me the new price was $65 instead of the $84 he charged me. I said absolutely not, the truck was $19.95, I asked for 1/2 dozen moving blanket, $5 and I put 8 miles on it at $.89. Where in the word do you get $65 after taxes with these things? So he was confused on how to rectify this and had to call someone and talked to them in another language and said it will be dealt with in the morning. I asked if he could please write on the back of my paper what is being charged because I did not feel comfortable with this verbal agreement with my debit card. He never checked the vehicle or anything. I did not feel comfortable with this because it had damages and I did not want them to make my responsible. I have photos/videos for my protection. I saw in the morning a new receipt was sent for $55 which was still too high. I called back and spoke to another gentleman who advised he still sees the $14 insurance charged, that I did not ask for. So he said he would process another refund of $19 since the truck was “returned”. I got another 6 emails with different receipts, none of them correct. So I called back after another hour and complained again that nothing was right. He finally sent an email showing the $55 charged and another showing a refund of $14 plus tax. I still have no idea if this is all correct and I'm waiting for my bank to release the $84 he originally charged. All in all, I will NEVER rent at this location again!!

Tire monitor system called for repair. Tire pressure on driver side rear tire was down. This was known by the location before vehicle was rented to me. Was never told this. Screw was in tire. Had to call Roadside to get it replaced at 3am. Still charged full price. Awful experience overall

It's convenient, but also old and needs much work. Selling items to smoke marijuana-pipes and bongs.. Odd to be a U-Haul location.

I reserved a 26-foot van, and the remnants of Hurricane Ian hit us the day I was to pick it up, knocking out electrical power to the U-Haul dealer. When I arrived to pick it up, the dealer was closed, but when I called the dealer's number, the owner answered from his home (where he still had power) and advised me that my truck was ready and gave me the code to the lock box to get the keys. This was service above and beyond during very difficult circumstances. Upon returning the truck, it got stuck, but U-Haul had a wrecker out within the hour to get it back on the road and at no additional cost to me. I'm very impressed with U-Haul's customer service and will use U-Haul again.

The only thing I have a complaint about is that we had requested for a closer pick up location (Holly Springs) instead of Apex, and was not notified that location to pick up truck in Apex til the morning of move.

Horrible customer service!!!! Owners of locations rushed me and kept telling me to “Hurry up!”. I asked 4 times to move the other trucks so I could get out. The insisted I could and just left. I was stuck for almost an hour until a random customer can me to help me. I called customer service and asked for a refund. No one has yet to call and follow up or email.

Truck was beat up as hell with claim stickers all over it. The transmission was shit and wouldn't upshift in or out of tow mode. The fucking god damn air conditioning didn't work and it was like 95 % outside and it pissed me off so bad.

Had a very hard time understanding the staff. Very rude with how they interacted with customers that came in the store, that wasn't the same cultural background as they were. Store was very dirty and unkept. When I was doing my walk around the trailer I had rented, doing the u-haul pre-check that was sent to me from u-haul documenting any damage on the trailer and the condition of it. The staff at the store got very angry about it and stormed off back into the store.

Did not come out to check the truck and only ask me if the dolly was in there and if the gas was where it was supposed to be when I asked if there would be a refund or anything for bringing it back early I was told no that would be like putting the milk back in the cow. Also I took pictures of my gas before I left Philadelphia and once I returned it to Apex but the attendant never came out to check and I was charged $33 for the fuel. I do have pictures if I need to send them to anyone for proof of where the gas needle was when I returned the truck.

When I went to pick the van up at 6:00 AM. I opened the U-haul app and was told I couldn't get the van until 7:00 when the store opened . Why didn't U-Haul notify me beforehand? I checked in online the night before ? Waited over 15 minutes for a customer service rep explanation. Basically was told location forgot to stage the keys in the lock box. I have used this location before with no problems with the after hours pickup . Waited for an hour in the parking lot . Late for a very important job . A notification would have prevented a lot of headaches

The trailer was ready and waiting and in good condition. They helped hook it up and check lights, etc. They went the extra mile after I returned it and tracked down tie-downs and straps I had forgotten in the trailer when I returned it. Great service.

We rented a minivan and it was very dirty and smelled pet pee and pet hair was everywhere especially on the front passenger seat. I could not even drive with my husband and had to follow him in my car. Same thing for cargo area. It was very dirty.
