Arrived at the facility and found a closed sign on the door. Left a very bad taste in my mouth because I had to find another place to store my belongings. Will tell my friends not to use this facility for storage. Zero stars

I would like to know if there is a day charge. Because she put on the receipt the return time 4:30 in the afternoon like I said I used it for 2 hours and return it she should have checked it in right then and there again if there's a day charge she's really took advantage of it

David ZielinskiThe person assisting with pick up was rude. She immediately told me I was there too early despite being 5 minutes late. Things don't go well when you feel a customer they are wrong before anything else. The trailer door was very difficult to open. The person who checked it in when we returned was very nice and helpful.
Mary ThomasThe check-in process via app caught me off guard by asking I input two alternate contacts to verify my identity. I have people who prefer not to be called so for them to have to get a text that they will be called by someone they don't know can be a bit jarring. Maybe research other ways to verify identities of someone. Other than that, pretty easy process.
Michael KeenThe vehicle needs work on the rear door. It was very difficult to raise and lower. Also, the driver's side door needed to be slammed shut to properly close.
wILLIAM LammeUnattended when I arrived, but attendant showed up as I was about halfway through the pick up truck function of the UHaul app on my phone. He took over and checked me out at his desk. Attendant was not there when I returned the truck and despite my best efforts, the return truck function of the app did not work, nor did going online. Finally had to chase down the phone number to call you for assistance. Finally wound up leaving the key in the box. Difficult and time-consuming process that needs to be improved. Good points included that the attendant (when he was there) was very friendly and helpful. Also, the truck was easy to find and was clean and in great shape. Unexpected bonus was finding a hand dolly and pack of blankets in the truck at no additional expense.
Kenton ZahrtStaff opened location 30 minutes later than their posted opening time. Turned equipment in 3 hours before scheduled drop off time, but staff did not check in the equipment in the system until after my drop off time so I was charged an extra day. Previously dropped off equipment at this location one day early and equipment was not checked in until 2 days later, so was charged for an extra day also. Also used this location as as a storage location and was told the first month is free, however received an email saying payment is due and now I've lost access to storage unit. Only using this location out of necessity, would never recommend this location to any one and will never use them again.

Rachel LandsnessPeople budget their expenses based on vendor information. This vendor uses "bait and switch tactics" to solicit customers. The price quoted was NOT the entire cost, which included an additional $35 per month. I'll never use this facility, and I'll convey such whenever asked.

Shawn KretschmerWe purposefully returned the truck early Saturday afternoon during regular business hours so we could interact with a store employee, but the place was closed, note on the door said they had to leave. Returning the vehicle required assistance from U-haul support line which was complicated and wasted a lot of time.
KEVIN MULLIGANThe office have "office hours" but no one was there initially when I picked up, and again when I returned my trailer. Also, the return process with location settings on iPhone was not smooth at all.

We know this because there were several boxes left in the back of the truck that staff removed for us before we left. I am handicapped and truck was higher than expected. Was pleased that staff was able to provide a step stool. Overall good experience.

Debora SchulzShortly after I picked up the U-Haul truck and drove out, A warning message on the dashboard indicated that the front right tire needed air. So, I went to a nearby gas station to add air and then realized that the air filling device in gas stations did not work for U-haul truck tires since its maximum pressure allowance is 35 psi. I tried to call the location to seek advice on where I can fill the air to 80 psi, but nobody picked up the phone. Since it was my first time renting a moving truck, I didn't have the experience to deal with this type of issue, I drove back to the location to solve the problem. But the office has already been closed at local time, 11 AM. The office location opening hours are posted as 9 AM - 5 PM on Saturdays. Finally, I figured out to go to Discount Tire to fill the air and resolved the issue. However, it wasted an hour and put on 10 -15 miles, and I was charged the mileage associated to find out a place to fill the tire to 80 psi.
Qinglu KongU-haul employee was very personable and nice. She asked questions on how the ride was and the vehicle ran. I let her know that the right front tire is low and she said they'll get it looked at. I imagine I used more fuel because of that issue than it would have if the tire was full. U-haul was clean on the inside, no other issues.
John DahlgrenFemale representative at the center street storage was not helpful at all. She gave us the truck key and told us to go find it. When we couldn't find it in the location she indicated, we again asked her where the truck was located. She told us she was busy. Eventually, she told us it was the truck not cleaned or unloaded yet. We had to haul all the moving blankets out before we could even use it. This all took another 20 minutes which cost us money for the movers sitting at the apartment waiting for us. We will never use center Street storage uhaul again.
mitch ClarkThe description of the vehicle said it would be pointing North, it was not. Please make sure the location description is accurate. Also, we had difficulty opening the lock to get the key out because it seemed stuck. Please make sure the locks are easy to use.

Angela BurgettWhen I picked up this truck it had 1/4 tank of fuel. I only drove 15 total miles. I brought the truck back with the same amount of fuel. I was charged with a gas service fee of $30 and they put in 4 gal of fuel for $22.50. That is completely unacceptable and needs to be fixed.
Nicholas YaksichI have rarely been so disappointed with a service in my life. I have rented a Uhaul dozens of times and it has always been a smooth process without incident. However, none of those times were from the Center Street Storage location. Every step of the process with this rental was a struggle. My first issue was having difficulty with the self check out process. It was a difficult process and I had trouble with the reservation so I called for help. I had to speak with the call center as it was after hours and the customer service representative actually argued with me and told me I was seeing things that in fact were not on my screen. Logging out and back in refreshed the system so I was able to see what she was telling me. Regardless, the tone and jumping to a combative response verses troubleshooting a solution was not acceptable customer service. The check out process took over an hour which meant I missed the open hours for part of what I was trying to move. Checking the truck in was fine although another lengthy process. So far the above incidents are on the Uhual Corporate side and not Center Street Storage Specific. Those items would have been solved fine with a little bit of constructive feedback but still caused significant delays and cost me additional money. The rest of the story is fully on Center Street Storage management and the reason for sharing my experience. When I returned the truck I accidentally left keys in the truck. I fully take responsibility for that as my error. Getting the keys back should have been a simple phone call and stopping by to pick them up. However, it was a frustrating process. I tried calling three times all of which were not answered by Center Street Storage and sent to the Uhual call center. Those customer service representatives were great and sent messages to the on-site manager to return my call to arrange me retrieving my keys. I also stopped by the office to find a sign saying there was no one on site and to call a local number for help. When I called that number it went to the call center but they were able to transfer me to someone local but not on-site who informed me he just spoke with the manager so he was there and to try the door again to which I informed him the door was locked and a sign said to call for help. A line of customers trying to pick up their truck reservations was beginning to form by this time. I was also trying to pick up another truck to finish my move since the delay the day before caused me not to finish the move. I nicely asked him to change my truck reservation to another location to get things rolling. He argued with me and interrupted me multiple times so I asked him to just cancel the reservation all together. Some backlash later he canceled the reservation and hung up on me without even confirming the reservation had been canceled. (I easily rebooked to the the Stony Brook location who were super nice and I highly recommend). After getting a truck from another location I returned to Center Street Storage to still find a line of people waiting. I checked in multiple times through the day and still was never able to talk to a person. Without those keys I was once again not able to complete the move. Finally the following day there was someone in the office. I walked in and the was a girl at the computer who did not look up from her computer and with a rude tone said "can I help you." I said I left some keys in a truck. She picked keys up from the computer and handed them to me without ever looking up from the computer. I was further surprised to not need to describe the keys or show identification that matched the reservation to price they were my keys. In the end I got them back which I am grateful for. That initial checkout delay caused a succession of events resulted in two very stressful delays compounded by some of the worst communicators and customer service representatives in the industry. It also caused one move to turn into three and cost an estimated $800 in additional expenses and time. In the future I recommend choosing the Elkhorn and Stony Brook locations for all your Uhaul needs.

Khamidjon DjoraevI needed to change my reservation to drop of my trailer at my destination instead of returning to the original location. I stopped by the location, in person, to do this to make 100 % certain everything was taken care of several days before my trip. The location informed me that this was no problem, and there wasn't anything special I needed to do. They told me that when I pick up the trailer, they would handle everything at that point. When I picked up the trailer and I told the same individual that I was dropping off at a different location, suddenly this was an issue. She said go ahead and take the trailer and she would email instructions to drop off. I never received instructions. When I went to drop off they were going to charge penalty dropping off in a different location in excess of $500. I was so upset with this person that told me I had nothing to worry about. I will NEVER rent from this location again!

When I went to discuss the procedure for moving out of the facility, I did run into a problem. for gout days, the office was locked during stated open times, and I did not see anyone walking around the units. That was our only problem during the entire time we rented the facility.
