The the day I went there was a older lady working in there she was very rude... All I wanted was to rent a truck and she was mad about it for some reason... Besides that the back door of the truck was broke and I'm literally still in pain... You would think they would do a walk around inspection before renting out the truck... Apon returning the truck the younger lady was sweet...

Ms. Teresa was especially knowledgeable in helping me select a properly sized truck. We were moving a large household to a new home and with the extreme heat being a detriment, the move took longer than expected. When you make a one-way reservation, Uhaul ONLY "includes" the EXACT amount of miles to the DROP OFF location. So unless you are unloading AT THAT UHAUL, you WILL pay extra, PER MILE. We had scheduled to drop off a 26' truck at this location. They WERE NOTIFIED that we were bringing it in ahead of time. They DID NOT prepare for our arrival and made us WAIT with the truck, while THEY made a space for it. Then had US park it ourselves.

This location is making people take the insurance when you say you don't want the insurance they go back to the insurance and then tell you that you have to take the insurance or show them proof that your car insurance will cover the uhaul truck that is not right. It do not say that we have to take the insurance for the truck unless it's the cargo van and the pickup truck.

The employee who was working the day I picked up my U-Haul was terrible. She was uncaring, indifferent, unhelpful, and on her phone the whole time. She refused to show me which vehicle was mine to take. She told me to look for the number on the vehicle. I was so upset when I left because of the way she treated me and I can't believe that they have someone working with the public who has such a bad attitude.

I originally had a reservation and went to the 3015 Plaza Cir, Port Arthur, TX 77642 location. Only to find it being uncomfortable shady and only had the one 10' truck. And I was told it was the last one and it was red taped due to an investigation. I went to Central Maxi Storage to find a few available and a much more affordable rate. Saving me money and more comfort. Central Maxi is the place to go! Quality equipment, so much better maintained, and so much better environment and people. So much more equipment and options.

It was so easy to just check in the truck online and be done. The instructions were clear and concise. The drop box was visible and clearly marked. There was plenty of room to back in and park the truck. The drop point was close by and between the locations we were going back and forth from. Truly, the Uhaul rental and return were the easiest parts of our harrowing move.

Everything was perfect. I was running behind schedule, but the manager was still able to get me the exact truck and storage unit I needed.

Truck smelled like smoke after the a/c ran. I told the front desk I should make it before they closed. Said it was ok and there was a key drop box if needed. Hour later I get a text that box truck due back at 130pm or I'd be charged. On top of that there's a 20$ fee if they uhaul site checks it in. I had to submit photos, basically doing the employers job. There's a sticker on the back of the truck that says save $25 by returning it clean. I didn't see any discount for returning it clean. The pictures of the box truck are from about 30' away. You can't see any of the dents in the truck so who knows what maxi storage has claimed the customer has done. I won't use this dealer again.

The front desk staff person was always friendly and helpful. But I did have several issues that could not and were not fully satisfied. I rented a regular unit then decided my important things probably needed to be in climate control area since it was all I had left of my home and life. At one point, I stopped by on a Sunday to get some critical paperwork for selling my home. There was a lock on my unit for non-payment - which turned out to be on there illegally (as I was paying through autopay). It was inconvenient because it was Sunday (the only day I could make it to the unit to retrieve the needed documents. The only day the office is not open at all on Sundays. So I had to have someone go through all my docs on Monday and it delayed business I needed to have done as well as inconvenienced others and allowed them to see any docs they might have wanted to. Lastly - I finally made it to the unit in September only to find mold growing on several things and my boxes collapsing on them selves. When I contacted the manager - he stated I must have moved into the unit on a rainy day (remember this is more money for climate control unit) I responded that it had not been raining. I had sent pics but He then wanted to see for himself. I could not make this happen as I could not return to let him in. Not everyone lives close to their storage or has the ability to go during office hours. This was my situation. When I did move my things out this last weekend - my wooden furnishings, cloth items and piano - ALL had mold. A box of papers which sat on the concrete floor - was completely saturated and molded on the bottom. This things inside it were ruined (and not replaceable). SO while I answered yes to all the pre-generated questions on this review - No I would not recommend this storage facility to a friend.

Upon moving out I notice a few items from the back wall that had contact with the floor had water damage. I know most likely due to our extreme crazy weather we had last year is likely the culprit.
