I returned the van within 24 hours, but was still charged for the original 48 hour contract because the dealer closed early on Saturday and is closed on Sunday. I returned it with more gas than I received it with only using 10 miles because I was afraid to use it very much. The dash indicator kept saying a door was open even after I repeatedly checked to make sure they were shut. There was also still trash in the cab from a previous user. I will probably need to rent trucks or vans in the future, but not from this vendor.JOHNRICHARD B.

Staff was not helpful. Lady who answered the phone gave me attitude, then gave me more when I arrived. Both times spoke as if she did not have time for me and carried herself with a unpleasant disposition. She seemed to be rude to other customers too. I also work in Customer Service, so I know how customers can tuff to deal with, but my situation certainly did not warrant it (only simple drop off that took a few mins).Randy T.

Horrible experience. Had a reservation for 5 months for a 26' truck. Gave us a filthy truck that needed service, broke down in first 5 minutes. Left the back door open with a dolly in truck which flew out into the road. Took it back to u-haul center. They did a diagnostic on it. Said the truck should not be on the road!! Said there was only a 20' truck available and could there was only a smaller truck. This was the Manassas Park VA uhaul and the guy's name is Johnny. Awful representative. Refused to give us a discount or any assistance and very rude about it. This messed up our entire move as we then had to put a lot in storage and come back to VA later to get the rest of our items, as well as incur huge extra expenses. This is totally unacceptable, and we are thoroughly disgusted with Uhaul and will never ever use your company again.Lynne W.

I do not understand the logic used for billing. I rented a van on 07/10/2022 around 10AM for 1 day and I was told that I should return it by 07/11/2022 10AM. Make sense. However, I had to keep the van for an unplanned trip so I returned it on 07/12/2022 around 9:30AM. To me, its a day more so I was expecting U-haul to charge me for 2 days but they charged me for 3 days and the explanation given to me was that my day 1 started on 07/10, day 2 is 7/11 and 7/12 is day 3. 07/10/2022 10AM to 07/11/2022 10AM - 1 day 07/10/2022 10AM to 07/12/2022 10AM - 3 days??? Can anyone please help me understand this logic?Ravikiran N.
I returned the truck 4-5 hours earlier, and asked the front desk if their tech will do the inspection that time, she said no, I can leave and their tech will do inspection later. Next day, I got a phone call from U Haul, asking me if I returned it yet. I said yes, and told her what happened. Apparently the front desk didn't put the info into the system. This location was a maze there were no other U-Hauls there and it provided no personnel to come assist me. I was so flustered and overwhelmed hoping I put it in the right spot.Wyatt J.
I opted for mobile check in but there is no service there. After spending an inordinate amount of time trying to check in I finally had to go in and wait for someone to help me. I could not check it in after hours either because of problem with connectivity they told me they r in a dead zone. Very frustrating.Cheryl M.

I had the worst experience ever with my last reservation. The first time worked great. I reserved a truck online, used the truck sharing 24/7. Came in, came out with no problem. The 2nd time I reserved a truck, I got a confirmation to be picked up at 8:30 PM using truck sharing 24/7. I went there, I was not able to pick up my truck. Had to stay on hold for 30 minutes to get a representative, to tell me that there was a problem with my reservation. So I had him rescheduled it for the following day. He confirmed that the truck will be available. The next day, I went to the location to pick up the truck. I went through the check in process, but when it asked me to locate my truck, it was not at the location. I walked around the parking lot at least 5 times, just in case I missed it. I even checked all the trucks that were blocked in. Was not able to locate my truck number. I called and was on hold for 30 minutes ago. The representative told me they had to move my reservation to another location. So, I went to the new location to pick up the truck. I was not able to proceed with the check in because the GPS is not pinging me at the Autobody Chantilly. So I opted to scan the barcode, which didn't read well. So I went a step further and take a picture of the barcode, but it kept giving me an error, saying barcode cannot be read. I spent another 30 minutes trying to to get the barcode to work. As I was about to give up, I got my GPS to ping point me at the location. The whole experience of my 2nd time reserving a truck was very very very frustrating.NHATVAN V.
Online rental experience was terrible. No follow up instructions on what is needed prior to getting keys. Rental should have started at 8 am and could not retrieve it until 930 am. I had to contact customer service which took over 20 minutes just to talk to someone and then talked to several people from different departments who weren't able to help us. So wasted a ton of time. Also, I expected a dolly to be in the truck and it wasn't there- but I got charged for it. Will not use uhaul in the future. Also- there is a uhaul office at the location but no one was there to help. So much for making online more efficient. Completely unsatisfied.Joy P.

I was surprised there was no veteran or AAA discount. Most young people find the remote drop off and pick up more convenient, but I think next time I will pick up from the UHaul place, as I struggled a bit with the pickup.Christina L.
