Issue was with the Winner SD office that indicated they had a trailer ready to go then I get a call shortly before pick up that I would have to drive8 hour round trip to get a trailer. When Inwent to the drop off office they were not set up to receive car trailers but gacefully accepted it do to the run around I already experienced.

Need a convenient pick up and drop off in Box Elder SD? This place is the best. It doesn't look like much but the Operators no-nonsense convivial attitude is all you need. Well, that and a trailer of course.

When I took the appliance dolly I had rented back a couple of days after dropping off the truck and car dolly, the owner showed me the truck. The bearings went out on the rear axles, and there was very little oil in the rear transfer case. The truck had 20,000 miles and was poorly maintained. He got permission from U-Haul HQ to do repairs in his shop, because after a short test drive, he didn’t feel safe taking it to the main Rapid City U-Haul terminal.

Charo Automotive was part of a larger issue. I had booked this rental online and requested a different pickup location. No one from UHaul contacted me to let me know that the pickup location had changed, and I ended up taking a cab to the wrong part of town. Here is the problem with Charo. The owner doesn't understand U-Haul's online system at all. I had pre-paid and pre-checked in. All I needed to do was pickup the keys and go. My reservation was for 7:30AM and he didn't arrive at his business until after 9AM, and I wasn't on the road until close to 10AM. Instead the owner spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to figure out what to do. When I finally was able to leave, he swore at me, he told me he hated this UHaul business, oh and by the way, he had a loaded gun behind the counter. I have pictures of that for proof. He should not be representing your company. Lastly, the gas tank was empty, the inside of the cab was dirty with dog food on the floor and pet hair on the seats, and the windshield was so covered in bugs, that I had to stop and scrub it right away just to see.

The agent delayed our moving by about 45 minutes because he wanted to talk about his life story. We were charged a $25 cleaning fee and cannot reach anyone at the location. They don’t answer the phone or return phone calls.

This location is extremely pleasant to rent from. The owner has the customer's best interest in mind when renting out trucks and equipment. I would recommend this location to anyone that has a pending move!

The Australian guy who runs the place was just awesome everything just like it should be he hooked the trailer up mad sure it was put on right i put over 900 miles on it with no issues at all thank you Jim from Algonquin IL

Don’t change the location of the rental pick-up. The trailer was not sealed and snow got inside and soaked the items that were inside the trailer. My reservation information (destination) was not in the system when I went to pick up the trailer.

The hours were not the same as listed. When we went the first day to drop it off it was earlier than it was due back but the door was locked and no one was there. We went back the next day and the guy was really nice and helpful and explained why no one was there. There was a key drop off there so we still could have dropped it off we just preferred to do it in person.

Brakes were awful! Maybe our fault for trusting and not verifying mileage, but did a local move 2 miles from original residence (3trips total back and forth) and were charged for nearly a 100 miles when we didn’t put more than 30 on. Pretty disappointing especially when you don’t have that kind of money to waste in the first place!

Agent was cranky on the phone before we got there, and didn't seem aware of the correct time we were to arrive (may have been a corporate scheduling issue). Pleasant and helpful once we spent 15 minutes on small talk as we arrived to improve his mood.

I was not happy that the location site I chose to pick up the truck was changed and I was not notified. This caused a 2 hour delay and I was on a tight time schedule to begin with. Then by luck someone was dropping off a truck that someone else had reserved, after several phone calls that one was given to me since I had made my reservation 3 weeks in advance and even paid for it. It is very frustrating when you think everything is in place and you call to confirm your reservation and your told there is a shortage of trucks in your state and we don't have one for you. I feel sorry for the person that was counting on the truck that was given to me.

Horrible! He took my contracts and did not know how to check in the equipment. I had to call the 1800 # to get receipts. The phone # is not even set up to leave a voice mail and he is not there during his "business" hours. After paying that much money I am disgusted by the service I received at the drop off location. DISGUSTED!!!

We were not well informed as to the whereabouts of the owner of this dealership. He would not answer his phone, and when we got ahold of someone, were informed he had a family emergency, we were unsure till the last min if we would even be able to get our truck that day to move!! Very stressful, especially since we called weeks in advance to ensure a truck for that date. We had enough stress as it was and did not appreciate the run around.
