the truck's windshield was buried under 8 inches of ice-crusted snow. Once we removed that, it would barely start.

Maybe don’t overbook your trucks and send us almost 2 hours away from our pickup and then screw us over by messing up our reservation for a trailer:) we ended up having to drive two vehicles across the country instead of one, spend way too much money on gas, and put miles on my personal vehicle that was not necessary.
Austin HRenting the vehicle through the phone was a problem. Did not receive the number to obtain the key, for the vehicle. Call placed to uhaul and the instructions were hard to follow on the small screen of the phone, especially if your vision is not good.
Cathy RWish you can pick the keys up from an actual person. I can see having a drop box for them but it was difficult to obtain the keys. Was there for about 2 hours attempting to use the clitchy software.

Cobleskill Collision is very easy to find and a convenient location to get in and out of. I would recommend renting a Uhual truck from this location. Thanks Uhual and Cobleskill Collision for helping our family move!
Holly S24/7 Lock box is nice but the Uhaul app needs to be worked on as it took over an hour and a half to get to a agent after putting in information.
Jeffrey WI had trouble getting the U-Haul app to work. Location services, even with full access did not work. I had to scan the barcode. The app seems to allow for alternate ways to get individual steps to complete...but only after primary method fails...and after backing out of original method. Support was responsive and helped me get through the process. Returning the truck was the same. The app disconnected after erroring out due to too many redirects. I successfully completed the return with no indication that it was complete and could find no indication I even had a reservation. Support was very helpful. The app was a callenge.
JOHNPHILLIP IThe app needs work. It is clunky and hard to understand. It is a valiant effort. Next time I will go through a live person as it was too hard on me as I prefer working with people not a machine

Melissa SOn July 8, I reserved a 26' truck to be picked up 7:30am in a nearby location on August 20. The day before pickup, I received an email telling me to pick up the truck 20 minutes away and an hour after I had initially reserved it because UHaul let the prior customer keep the truck an extra hour. When I arrived to pick up my reserved truck, I was told there was no truck available at all for me because the prior renter was given permission to take the truck an extra day. This is totally unacceptable. My son called UHaul's central number, which was able to locate a truck for us an hour away, saying that was the closest one. So we had to drive 2 extra hours to get the truck on top of our long move and started packing the truck 3 1/2 hours after our planned start time because UHaul messed up. On top of that, our belongings were covered in white powder when we unloaded them. Was the truck used to carry flour or drugs previously? I will never use UHaul again.
Elliot SI reserved this carrier 3 months ago and was sent to a location "Perrones farm" which was closed. After several calls the folks with Cobleskill collision came and hooked up the trailer. Poor customer service from a National perspective. The guys who came to help me were ok but this was a terrible experience.

Victoria KThe owner was very rude to me and my family, did not fully explain the rental process and gave me a hard time when I asked why he needed to see my credit card after I had reserved the truck online already. The owner didn't have any equipment dollies available, but did not how to remove the equipment from the bill so I was charged for something that I couldn't utilize. This also confused the drop off location when they thought there was supposed to be a dolly returned with the truck. The battery on the truck was dead at the shop and needed to be charged, but did not hold a charge so the truck would not start when we were done loading the truck later in the day. We then had to wait an hour for the owner to bring a battery and replace it in the truck.

Kimberly PBeyond the scope of the dealership: It would be nice if there was a one page description of the controls in the cab - and what they do. Not sure how the headlights worked - used the "automatic" but don't know if they were on all the time or if they turned off during the day (The dash lights seemed to, even though I would have liked them on.) The 4 or 5 push buttons on the left side of the dash I never did figure out. Does the radio have AM? I like talk radio, but couldn't find any. I probably could have figured it all out - if I had had an extra day to spend at it.

MARYE PNo directions on how to get our key!? We were waiting for a code to open the box - but found out the box was open. Took over 1 1/2 hours to return the van! The website nor the app would give us the Return button. We called Uhaul and was on hold once for 15 minutes then was disconnected. Called back on hold for 30 minutes! Finally called again and in 5 minutes got to talk to someone who transferred us to live verification. The 3 women we got to speak with Jennifer, Katie and Rachel were very nice and extremely helpful.

William GI was unable to pick up trailer myself so I had a friend pick it up for me. Rental facility charged me for unneeded trailer insurance as it is covered under the vehicle it is being towed by. This was not part of the original agreement as set up by uhaul. The only way I could get the additional funds refunded was to take it to the pick up location. A 4 hour trip as it was a one way rental. Disappointed in the extra unnecessary fees. Trailer did work out as planned

Isaiah MThis was the worst experience I have ever had when utilizing Uhaul. My order was made for an hour before I needed it, upon my arrival there were no representatives on-site nor was any direction given on how to hook up the trailer until I reached out to the help line. The return location was not specified to me prior to me contacting the help line once again. No return instructions were given until 2 minutes before the trailer was supposed to be returned. At this point I had drove the trailer an hour out of my way to make sure it was returned to the location given to me by the help line and upon receiving the text notification reminder for return I had to turn back around and drive a half hour extra out of my way to ensure I had taken pictures of the unhitched trailer. The day after the trailer was supposed to be returned I was sent photos of the trailer to confirm the existing damage before I rented the trailer. All in all the worst service I've ever received. That is until I spoke with yet another phone representative that assisted me through the proper return process and she was extremely helpful and courteous.

Debra SI ended up returning the truck early - the parking lot was totally BLACK. The lot was muddy and full of pot holes making it very difficult to return the vehicle. I couldn't see anything and was stepping in water! Awful awful experience
Shauna RThe owner of that business is one of the worst people I've come across in quite some time. Lazy, rude, and dishonest. His 9 am opening was 10:35-causing us to stand around for 35 minutes after we drove 45 minutes to get there. I clearly stated I did not need insurance. He tacked it on anyway and I was so late getting out of there I was rushing and missed it. The inside of the Uhaul was dirty. A tire had a big piece of tread missing which I didn't notice til later. I asked him if we could mark the damage to the Uhaul so I wouldn't get charged for it. He said no. If I wanted to report the damage I could call Uhaul. I asked if he had an email I could send photos to, he said no--you can call them yourself. He treated us like we were a complete inconvenience. My mom and I were appalled. And he owns his collision company. Clearly his ambition and general human interaction skills are long gone. his affiliation with your business is a stain on your reputation. Alternatively, the Charlottesville, drop-off, man was lovely.

Robert TI don't think it could be made much smoother. My experience was much better than I expected and if any if my friends or family in Cobleskill need a moving service or truck, I will recommend this Uhaul to them.

Cynthia LI was told that the pickup location could only be guaranteed 48 hours in advance. This makes it difficult to plan a trip well in advance. It would be nice to know in advance where you'll be getting your rental.
ALbert FI used the handy helper is moving crew recommended from your location This company arrived on time and ready to work and did everything so quickly and smoothly I was very impressed I would definitely use them again The truck I rented was great they gave us a smooth ride to our destination
