Gary is great. Enjoyed meeting him while picking up the trailer. Unfortunately, the right front tire developed a side wall leak during our rental.

mike wMaking a reservation should guarantee equipment at the location reserved. Should not have to drive an hour and 15 minutes one way to pick up a truck, take 30 minutes to mobile check out because there is not an attendant there and then have to drive an hour and 15 minutes back to even begin loading. On top of that the 58 miles it took to get back to loading location and the 40 miles to drop it off (98 miles total) weren't even credited and billed for excess miles and another day when first day was supposed to have truck at 0800 and didn't have until 10:00 and didn't get to being loading until noon. Will not use Uhaul again. Terrible experience. Quoted 347 plus tax and paid almost 500 because reservations don't mean reservations…

I do not want to allow this business know I personally gave a bad review, he will treat me worse, if the service could even be worse. Do you have a district manager or a position like that? If you do, that person should be reprimanded

JOHN WI was confused regarding the comments the representative made regarding the exterior material condition of the truck. The scratches were there when I picked the truck up, but didn't have "stickers" on them. He made it seem it was my problem. I have pictures of the truck when I picked it up showing the damage. I was made to feel uncomfortable and I don't appreciate the experience.

William RGary (Colington, NC) was very professional and efficient in lining me up with the right truck on short notice. It was a local one-day rental and he made himself available on a Saturday to answer any questions I had throughout the day. This was far better than my previous experience where I relied on the regional Uhaul people to connect me with the right truck. They sent me an hour and a half away to Columbia, NC - a remote location where there was no local rep to help me. I ended up having to go to Gary anyway to get the blankets that the other place failed to provide. There was a 15 foot truck there on his lot that I could have taken. I had to learn the hard way that Uhaul corporate doesn't care much about their customer's convenience. The lesson for me was that customers have to reach out to their nearby outlets themselves to get the equipment that is closest to them. Do not use the 800 number.

Stephen PDestination drop off falsely represented Uhaul. Refused drop off after 4 pm when my contract said 5. Got charged for after hours drop off anyway. Complete BS and wasted 20 minutes of my time to sort with Uhaul Corp. Destination reception was clearly inept and provided no assistance, just said to go somewhere else. Ended up dropping the trailer off there anyway per Corp directions. Ended up doing this after sunset by myself. What a hassle after a long day.
Richard MThe location was fine. The problem was the truck was supposed to be picked up in Norfolk, VA when reserved. I had to drive to North Carolina to pick up the truck and to Chesapeake to pick up the trailer.

Lorry LThe fact that I had to drive a total of 80 miles round trip to return the trailer was a big disappointment. It was not the first time this has happened while renting from Uhaul. Not sure whether I would rent from Uhaul again based on these incidents.

Edward KAfter I drove the 20' truck off the lot, the check engine light came on. As general U-Haul procedure, have a U-Haul employee test drive equipment the day before renting.

pete pWhen asked about the military discount, the gentleman said "we're passed that part" and refused to accommodate for the discount. Also, the gentleman here relies heavily on gadgets to check your trailer plugs, his wasn't working properly...he told me my electrical on my truck had issues. I assured him my truck was 100 % and I knew his cheap tester was faulty, I had to convince him to hook up the trailer to verify it worked, of which, surprise...it did. He still defended his little garbage plastic light check. I also don't mind if you're religious however I do not need to keep hearing about your religious beliefs at a business. Very awkward and very time consuming for a process that should have been much quicker. I had also learned the gentleman dispatched 2 trailers to me and had stated they were returned to his yard in North Carolina though I was communicating with UHAUL in VERMONT, I had to send a picture to verify I had the trailer. Politics, religion amd cheap gimmick tools have no place in a business setting.
William TVery happy with this location. Very un-happy with the central booking for U-Haul. I am in Kill Devil Hills and every time I try to rent a 12X6 Trailer, Your system tells me that I have to go to Elisabeth City (39 Miles away) or Chesapeake VA (58 Miles Away). After I returned my one-way rental to: Colington Pawn Shop, 2125 Colington Rd, Kill Devil Hills NC 27948. I find that they had about "FIVE" 12X6 trailers and after talking with the person at Colington, he informs me that he normally has 10 or 12 of these trailers and apologized that U-Haul central was sending me all the way to Chesapeake. I am more than a little upset that I spent tons of time and gas to rent a trailer that I could have picked up less than 5 miles from my home.
Michael MJust want to thank the gentlemen again that was kind enough to wait for us to arrive after a very long drive so that we could drop our dolly off. It was the best thing that had happened to us that day and we appreciated it so much!
