When you confirm the mileage, make sure the agreement is updated because they use the mileage from the previous contract when it was returned. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but it can cost you. For example, there is a different cost for 1 mile vs 1,1 miles even though they say there is no difference.Lisa C.
My debit card was charged two times for the estimate before I returned my truck. Then charged the actual which was less than the estimate charges after I returned the rental. I spoke with 3u haul reiterative and all they did was determined me to the next person who finally told me I had to take it up with my bank. This is totally unacceptably. The lady there was uselesd. I told her that the truck gave me problems. All 495 miles, all she said was your balance is applied to your crÃ©dito card. She wssnr friendly, helpful or customer service driven.MARY C.

I would only recommend this place to a friend because of the Uhaul manager at the location. At this time I can't remember her name, but I do know it started with a "J". Although I set this as my preferred location Uhaul changed my location and when I received the phone call confirmation for picking up the truck no one from the other location (7624 SE Crain HWY) told me the location had been switch. When I arrived at Colonial although the manager didn't have me in the system she contacted UHAUL corporate who still had me in the system for her location. After 2 hours of waiting (because 7624 wouldn't let me pick up the truck after they stated the day before I could pick up the truck earlier, and had stated the truck was at the location then said I could not pick up the truck early because it wasn't ready). Manager J finally got me taken care of by giving me someone else's truck who I am sure came in after me and was annoyed. This is a great location and has great staff. If I were to refer someone here I would tell to ensure that their truck is there by calling before they actually get there.Kimberly S.

The rental location initially said it was going to cost me 190 to rent a ten foot truck for four hours with a total of 30 miles. Totally outrageous when it went 120 miles with a 20foot truck the day before for less than that! The rental place finally 'discounted' me ro 50 dollars if I hadn't needed it so much, I would have walked out!karen J.

The truck was excellent as was the office service, but I needed only a cargo van, which this location does not have, so I had to rent a ten-foot truck, which bears a slightly higher rate per mile.FRANK H.
My entire Uhaul experience was frustrating. I'm not sure if it the problem of local offices or the entire Uhaul computer system, but i would never recommend Uhaul or use Uhaul again. After filling out my preferred pick up and drop locations online, neither of the correct locations were notified. When i called each location, they had no record of my reservation. When i finally switched my location to the correct one, they then had the wrong truck size (but kindly upgraded me for the same price). I continued to receive emails that i was expected to pick up or drop off at locations that were not what i choose (and not convenient) with language indicating that if i didn't not show i would be charged. I had to call numerous locations to deal with this discrepancy, which is very frustrating when trying to move! The colonial pick up site was friendly, but extremely slow service. I"m not sure if there was a nail already in the tire or if i somehow got one on the three mile drive to my house, but i had a flat tire by the time i loaded the truck.KRISTIN C.

Best rental experience we have had with U-Haul ever.Cathy E.
Store was closed when we arrived. Phones were not being answered. Has to ask the car shop attached to the rental if anyone was working. Took 2oms for the cashier to show up. Rude unapologetic, ran out bank card told us it was declined. So we wNt home brought back a different card. Ran this card said It was declined.. It wasn't until we caused a scene that the cashier actually looked into the fact their system was not running properly. They called in a field specialist for u-haul. So after waiting for him to get there they finally realize they could have just had us call the main phone line and paid over phone. We arrived ar 1pm. Did not leave with the u-haul until 3pm. Not only did they waste our time we had rented a dolly which they did not even have on site. Do not use this location.PHILIP B.
I was told that they open at 8:30 am. I was there but on the door it said it opened at 9. At 9:15 as I was calling the main number for U Haul a gentleman came up to me and asked if I was waiting for a truck and I answered yes so he said to come around. I had seen hime go thru around 9 but he didn't say anything to us and since had entered thru a different door we didn't know he was the person to open up.OLLIE S.

I reserved a 24' truck the day before in Dunkirk, md and when I got there they only had a 20' truck. The colonial Auto store had a much better inventory and actually had the truck I requested. The people are also very helpful at Colonial!Joel W.

U-Haul needs to have teh capability to store/save customer info in the system. I rent 6X12 covered trailers several times a year and everytime i have to get the same info. Even when i have filled out the info ahead of time with the email you send, the U-Haul rep (in several different locations) still has to ask for the info i put into the sytem via teh U-Haul email.GEORGE W.
I planned to pay cash for my uhaul. Julie and Kim were my attendees. It was obvious that Julie hadn't rented many uhauls and was fairly new to the process. Kim was extremely rude, playing on Facebook instead of trying to assist the only customer in the rental office, myself. When Kim heard that I was taking my uhaul one way and wanted to pay cash for it, she advised (in front of my face) Julie NOT TO RENT A UHAUL TO ME. This was a $743 uhaul. And the morning of my move you tell me that I shouldn't be allowed to rent a uhaul because because I'm paying Cash? I had a debit card and explained that I couldn't put money on the card because my bank was out of state. (There are no chase banks in the md dc area). Julie was very nice and trying to help me despite Kim who was admonishing her (whilst playing on Facebook) not to rent me a uhaul. After I contacted customer service ( who has been having phone issues for the last four days) and Julie finally reached her supervisor I was able to rent the uhaul. THANK YOU JULIE FOR BEING POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL DESPITE NOT KNOWING THE UHAUL RENTAL PROCEDURES. KIM was rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate and obviously untrained on uhaul rental policies/ and procedures. Her attitude was completely out of line. No one checked the truck to verify mileage and fuel levels. The fuel was lower than what was listed on the contractual print out, and best mpg gauge was broken in the truck. The left turning light signal was out on the auto transport, and the tags were expired on the auto transport, (this however was explained later and turned out to be ok).
