Both Patty and Keshia were exceptionally helpful. Your on site check-in procedures are cumbersome if not impractical. The requirement to have your team personally engage with two of my contacts came as quite a shock, especially since this was not mentioned in my online pre-registration. How do people who are new to town--with no local contacts--meet this requirement? And what if my contacts had not been readily available? Also your exterior signage at this location lacks drama. The "COMMUNITY" sign overpowers the modest U-Haul signage. Hard to see and discern from the street. If it weren't for the branded trucks parked under the driveway, I would have driven right by. The online app was an absolute disaster, I do not know why you cannot check people in by customer service at the location - to be fair she was helpful in helping me through the app, but it toke 1 hour 20 minutes to check in! The return was not great using the app also...trying to park at this location on return is hard also, very tight and a safety issue, fortunately the same lady let me park in front of the store.Adrian C.

The truck I rented was not available. I was given an alternative, larger truck for no extra charge (which I appreciated). I rented a dolly as well and I was told by the employees the dolly was at the location. However, when I went into the truck there was no dolly and the location did not have another dolly. I was forced to rent a furniture mover instead, not from Uhaul, but from the storage complex I picked up the Uhaul from for an extra charge. One of the employees at the location was decent to work with, but the other was generally sarcastic and rude and made it feel like the location's inability to give me what I already ordered and paid for was an inconvenience to them, not me. Overall I ended up spending >1 hour in the store even though it should have taken less than 5 minutes.Andrew E.

Customer service was terrible here. We rented our vehicle and confirmed pickup time verbally with the front desk, and asked some questions about drop off. On the day of the appointment, we were told our reservation was double booked and there were only 2 box trucks at this location in total, none of which were available. We then had to scramble to find another vehicle, but tried again after calling U-Haul support and confirming our reservation was in the system. When we called again there was another woman who answered and said our vehicle was available. When we got there, there were 5 box trucks parked in front of their storage facility, and we were able to get ours. When we asked again about drop off terms, we were given a different answer than we were told at the time of booking and had to pay for an extra day because of this. We also heard the desk agent take a call while helping us, which I distinctly heard her tell them they had no trucks available, then upon hanging up she told us that she did have them, but she was trying to finish our transaction first. This was the same woman that told us earlier in the day that we were double booked and had no truck available. Only reason she didn't recognize our name is because we checked in with my name as the driver, instead of my fiancÃ©e who did the booking. We've never had bad experiences with other locations, but this was unacceptable. We paid for the extra day instead of figuring out a way to return it on time, because I just wanted to be done dealing with this woman and make sure we had the vehicle for our scheduled move.Christopher C.
This is the first time in my many years of UHaul experience where uHaul was unable to provide the truck I reserved. The report was that my 6:30am mobile pick up Was Unavailable and required hand delivery when the store opened at 10am. The truck was sitting on the lot. Phone conversation with UHaul was not helpful. The rep that helped me when I arrived at 10 was very apologetic and tried to be as accommodating as possible. I lost my scheduled movers, my unloading scheduled parking time slot, etc. in the end I was able to work things out. Lots of time wasted. UHaul offered no apologies. The whole world is stressed out it seems so God bless and stay safe. I'm sure it will be better next time.Jeannie H.

Very poor customer service. They wanted me to only use the app for picking up and returning the vehicle. They did not want to help or interact at all when I explicitly requested customer counter service in my reservation. They became visibly annoyed when I asked for assistance.JOHN N.

We have been waiting for almost one week to see what the status of our requested refund is. The Uhaul we rented was not safe to drive. I called Roadside Service to check the UHaul and they indicated that there was no transmission fluid, low oil, no grease in the underbelly, alignment issues, problems with the brakes, etc. The UHaul location we rented the truck from stated that they would have to inspect it and make a decision. I have not heard back from anyone. Additionally, the truck originally had the wrong mileage (which we pointed out when we checked it out at pick up) and has clearly not been serviced in quite some time. I live near the storage facility and can see that one week later the truck hasn't been moved...so I've been charged and no one is inspecting the truck (which was apparently the condition upon which they would even consider refunding us). I was told by the storage facility that only Roadside Assistance could get us a replacement truck. Roadside Assistance told me that only the storage facility could get a replacement. So I was stuck with a non-Maintenanced, un-safe truck and still no one has reached out to let me know what the status is/what the manager indicated about our refund.Megan D.

Picking up the UHaul on the day of a move should be the easiest/ least stressful part of the day. In my case, it was absolutely the opposite. I reserved the UHaul weeks in advance and completed the check-in process ahead of time to ensure pick-up went smoothly and efficiently. However, to my disappointment, none of the information that I entered was able to be seen by the individual handling my reservation, despite having a confirmation email/ code stating that I had completed this process. I then was asked to provide this information 4 more times. Finally, the information was "saved" in the system, but payment would not go through. After being there for an hour an 45 minutes, I inquired about paying cash as this had put a major delay in my day. I was able to put down 100 $in deposit to then take the truck for the day. Upon prompt return of the truck, again, the system was unable to generate my change. I waited another 35-40 minutes for this change, while AT&T was calling to say they were on their way to set up my internet. For the size of this company, this was a totally unacceptable experience and I will not use your services again.Amanda H.

My uhaul experience more or less was very good. The truck was good and everything was as expected. But the older gentleman that processed my rental on Saturday 5/23 was very very rude. He seemed upset I was even there taking up his time. I was wearing a mask, being very polite, but he must have had a bad day and was taking it out on customers. He needs to work on being nicer and more polite. This reflects poorly on uhaul. One thing that also bugged me is he called me on my personal cell phone to â€˜make sure' I was going to be here on time. I think that should not be allowed. I was the only who made the appointment for the time I specified. I will be there on time. He should not be abusing the company data and calling people on their personal cell phones throughout the day.Darian B.

The only issue I had was when i returned the van the app asks you to drag the indicator to the level of fuel the van is being returned with. It would not let me drag the indicator to the full mark. I am aware that a picture is required for proof which I did and it clearly showed full but i was still charged for refueling.Virgeana L.

I began my rental process online with my phone. I did not upload pictures of my license as that was optional and I wanted to eat the lunch that had been served to me while it was warm. I don't remember all of the process but it seems that at some point I was given the option of checking out self-serve or at the counter. I chose the counter. When I arrived to get the truck, there were two women there. One was seated behind a computer; she did not speak. The other was doing some physical work. She greeted me and asked how I could be helped. I said I was there to pick up my van. There was a pause and then the seated woman spoke to me. I thought "Oh, she's going to work with me, now. I wonder why she didn't speak to me first." She never once smiled at me. She asked for my license and when she returned it, I said "Thank you." That's when I realized she had not said "Thank you" when I handed it to her or at any other time during our conversation. As the checkout neared the end, she gave me a form to sign/initial that said I had checked the condition of the van. Since I had not yet looked at the van and had not even been told which one it was, I wasn't ready to sign/initial that form. She said, in a rude tone, "Well, you're supposed to be out there checking it!" I said, "There's a good reason I'm not; it's because I'm here working with you." In all, I felt the checkout experience was very unfriendly and I was made to feel like a burden. It was only later that I realized that since the process is set up for the renter to do almost all of the process self-serve, that this particular employee viewed any claim on her energy as an affront. I'm happy to follow whatever procedures you have set up to rent from you, but I don't need a surly employee to treat me like I'm an imposition. You could do a better job of communicating to your customers what is expected of them. You could do a better job of training your employees to deal with elderly customers who don't know your procedures by heart. I will not return to that location.Larry P.

Sometimes when I rent from here I can turn it in after they close that option was not given to me so I did not get it for a full day it would of been nice if that was extended to me since I picked it up after 2230pm I should of gotten a 24 hours at least since I paid for a full day. I put only 6 hours but it just would of been nice if that was offered to bring it in later.Channon D.

Maybe have the uhaul maintenance guys checkbor inspect if all the fluids are at least half tank full before allowing the truck to be driven off the premises...we almost caught on fire cuz there was absolutely no coolant on our way home from a 30 mile distance which is not far at all. We were delayed stalled in the middle of nowhere for hours. And then the storage closed at 12 am and so we didn't get to get all our stuff up to storage due to the car engjne overheating! I was never greeted or dismissed. They simply pointed. They were very nonverbal during my transaction. I was passed off three times. The first man pointed to another man and said he would help me. This second man asked my last name. and then stood up and asked someone else to finish with me. This man just printed something out and began walking outside. He never even communicated to follow him. He just started outside so I figured I must need to follow him. He told me to walk around the truck and look for damage. I said it has a lot of scratches. He said roughly, only major damage. I signed and wrote on there that there were scratches. He tore the sheet off, handed me my copy and walked back in. Never asked if I had questions, etc. I just love great customer service and try to provide it to my clients so I am always amazed when customer service is this poor. It was almost comical how poor of a transaction it was. Also, they were out of moving blankets. The truck was surprisingly easy to drive.Marjorie S.

I should have gone with my first mind, and not accepted the vehicle. It was full of water. The representative that checked out the vehicle, said the back gate was open, and the representative checking in said it was condensation. The vehicle leaked and ruined a few pieces of my furniture. I wasn't even able to finish moving, and when I took the vehicle back they didn't even offer me help of any kind. Nothing like, we have a different truck or we can make a reservation on a different day. They offered no help at all. The driver's side door leaked as well. Cynthia Lewis insinuated that I don't know how to drive by saying I didn't close the door right. She was condescending, rude and disrespectful the entire time. I was hoping for a much better understating. But, the entire time they made it seem like it was my fault, and that I left the door open, or that I don't understand how condensation work. I have never felt so inadequate in my life. I will never rent from this location and I will never refer people to that location for anything.Martin R.

I've rented from this location several times. Yesterday I picked up the truck at about 11:00 am and ran into a parking mess. There is a dental office in the same building and no parking for that business. I couldn't park my car until I backed out the truck, but dental patients and their drivers made this difficult because they didn't want to move their cars. They were parked directly behind the trucks! These two businesses seem incompatible because there isn't a parking lot available.Suzette M.
I ran approximately 75 to 100 U-Haul's per year. In my entire experience with U-Haul I have never been treated so unprofessionally and with no type of courtesy whatsoever. This location had the truck I was directed to Louisiana st location. After a hour of driving around in limbo. Your customer service was amazing. He made me comfortable and calmed my nerves. The truck was clean but it wasn't well maintained. The truck had terrible suspension. It bucked and bolted at 30 mph and shook the hell out of the stuff I was transporting. There's a loud squeak between the cabin and the box and the passenger door was hard to close (had to give it a huge slam to close it), I've rented the moving vans from the same location without experiencing any of these problems. I was charged the 181,50 $ at pick up( correct amount) and then now also have a charge of 477,00 $ on my credit card. It should have maybe been about 20 $for my over mileage Called and they said that I need to speak to uhaul. Currently on a 10 Min hold with uhaul. Not the best experience so farMelissa H.
I had a VIP corporate code for a 50 $credit that I used when I made an online reservation that did not appear to work properly (I emailed customer service about this issue before and a â€œJohnâ€ told me â€œwe can't believe it doesn't work it looks like there's 50 $USD on itâ€). When I told Cynthia about the code and credit problem I expressed concern that the code wasn't working. She swiped my card anyway and said when I return they should be open and they can try it then (my reservation was from 1pm to 5pm and they close at 5). I left with the truck and arrived at my storage unit to empty it out when I open the back and realize the utility dolly and cart I reserved were not in the truck. I had to turn around and return to get them. I told Cynthia when I returned and she didn't seem to really care. I finished my move and returned the truck at 4:55pm. I sat down with Cynthia who was closing out my contract and I was on the phone with U-haul (Sharla, who was excellent customer service rep) discussing the issue with the VIP credit. I put Sharla on speaker and she was explaining how to apply the credit to Cynthia and Cynthia got extremely argumentative with Sharla. She eventually charged my order without attempting to enter the VIP code and basically told Sharla to deal with it, all because she was â€œready to leaveâ€ since it was already past 5pm when they close. So I ended up paying the 50 $and extra fees for mileage due to the lack of equipment. The 50 $credit was for a poor experience from a prior rental and I tried to apply it to this rental and had a similarly bad experience. Even when I emailed customer service weeks ago about how the VIP credit code wasn't working John brushed it off and made it seem like I was lying about how it wasn't working. Well, I wasn't. The credit didn't work and Cynthia was very rude, discourteous, unprofessional, and lacked any kind of empathy or concern for my needs as a customer. Sharla on the other hand was extremely kind and courteous and made sure to document all of this along with submitting a request for review of this contract and the issues with the VIP credit. I would like my card refunded for the experience.Josh K.
