Reserved Uhaul online at 6008 Madison road and turned around in search of another truck rental because place was so bad-overgrown, scary “market” with blackened barred windows. I was afraid to walk in to the place. I would NEVER recommend. I called to request another location and they put me on hold for a very long time until I finally hung up and researched myself!!! People were great and very friendly and helpful at the MARBURG location.

I made a reservation about 3 weeks prior to the moving date, and after calling and confirming 3 separate times the week of the move, I was called 1 hour after the box was supposed to be dropped off to tell me that they couldn't drop the box office until the following day, and that may reservation was only a preference, they weren't obligated to deliver then. On the back end of the move, the box did not reach it's destination until 3 days after the contract and multiple confirmatory emails indicated it would. The customer service (with the exception of the New Haven office staff) was terrible throughout the process. I will not be using uhaul again.

The entire experience was a nightmare. My truck was cancelled without any notification to me. When I logged in the day of and saw that it was cancelled I had to spend time and energy to get it (I thought) straightened out. When I arrived at the location, it was still cancelled. I eventually got the keys but was unable to ‘add drivers’ and the truck stikl had trash in it from the previous driver. The location eventually realized that the reservation still wasn’t confirmed on about day two of my trip. They then ‘updated/renewed’ the reservation but with different days and a different drop off location that was a significant distance further away from my location. This change cost lost time and stress in the calls I made to attempt (unsuccessfully) to have it changed AND it cost me 20+ dollars in the uber I had to take because of its location. Ultimately, I spent hours on the phone because of their failings AND had lots of stress added to my move. All without any real apology or compensation for the time I had to spend fixing/addressing THEIR mistakes.

The staff person had no idea who I was, didn't even check my ID and just gave me keys. He didn't tell me which vehicle was mine, nothing. He literally just gave me the keys. I didn't sign a contract or anything. The gas tank was not full; it was only filled to a quarter of a tank.

I was not given a code to the box to get the key. The phone number given to me for help sent me to a storage facility that had no idea about my truck and had to transfer me. But the staff there was helpful.

The concept of self-pickup is great but, had a terrible experience with it. I asked reservation agent if there were any kinks with it and she did not advise of 15 minute underwriting. Need to fix app experience if renter shows up after reservation time. Had to figure out to call uhaul and sit on hold for 10 minutes. Overall, added 1 hour to my day.

I moved on 7-28-18. The entire weekend moving process with U-Haul was a disaster. First, I ordered a queen size mattress bag online to pick up the day before I moved (this was the Gilbert location, although my truck reservation was the Marburg location). I had paid for it in advance and the site said they had 32 in stock. When I went to pick it up on 7-27, they didn't have any in the store, even though I already bought it, they never fulfilled the order. Their best solution for me was to make me drive all the way to the West side (I was moving on the East side) to pick up one from another location, they gave me a hand-written note to give the store manager to ask for this product. I said no way, I got a refund and went to a Life Storage on the East side, luckily they had one there, but I just lost an hour of my day. Next, on 7-28, I went to the Marburg location to pick up my truck which was reserved for 9 am. The store was closed. Again I went to a Life Storage, she was able to track down the employee who was supposed to be at the other store. By that time, it was 10 am. When we arrived back at U-Haul there were 4 people in line ahead of us, and they gave our truck away. So we had to wait for someone else to return a truck. By that time, it was 11 am. I was told I would get $50 credit because of the "reservation guarantee" policy. Next, I got an alert from my bank because I had been charged for the truck but I never got the credit. I thought, great, when I returned the keys, the employee never put in the system that I was supposed to get a refund, so now I have to sit on hold with customer service all morning. And that's exactly what happened. The woman who finally answered the phone said "who told you that you were supposed to get a refund?!" She said she would have a manager call me back. By late afternoon, no manager had called me. So I called customer service again, and gave them my reference number. The woman said, "the note said the issue had been resolved, and the manager wrote that he called you and spoke with you on the phone." I said no, no one spoke with me, and how inconsiderate that someone would lie in their report just because they are too lazy to call a customer back. She said the refund had been issued and to check my bank after the weekend. I did see the refund by the following Tuesday. In the end, I got my truck and my refund. But it was an incredible hassle on my part. All of the employees were cutting corners, between fulfilling my mattress bag order, to being late opening the store without notifying customers, to not issuing the refund without me having to call about it. I am never, ever using U-Haul again. I was absolutely livid about the entire ordeal.

I can't really blame the employee, because he drove down from Columbus, OH to Cincinnati, OH, to come work at this life storage location. My mobile app reservation didn't work because the truck wasn't checked back in. It took an hour for me to get my truck pushing back my already long day of moving. I felt I had to return the truck back down to the location increasing the amount I had to pay in mileage, because he had never done Uhaul rentals until that very day. So I didn't want to tell him I wasn't coming back because it had already been causing problems with getting me my truck. Then when I went to return my truck, I turned in the key to him. I did not think since I had to go in to get my truck I wouldn't have to do anything with the mobile app. Then I get a notice three two days later that I haven't returned my truck, because he probably didn't check it back in. So i had to take time out of my work day to be on hold just to talk to, thankfully the only helpful person I got to deal with, Jennifer a phone rep who took care of the situation for me. It is safe to say I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience, I had an extremely long wait, I had to over pay and I was almost charged with a late fee for a truck I had already turned in.

The desk clerk had no prior experience, so it took 40 minutes for him to process the two people ahead of me in line. Since this was first thing Saturday morning, there was an "angry mob" waiting by 9:30 am. Could not even "wait" in comfort because bathroom was out of order. You need to allow time to train newbies exp in advance of a weekend in late July, when people are moving into new apartments etc.

The place is supposed to open at 9:00. Guy didn’t show up until 9:45. I get in line behind 8 other customers. Didn’t get my truck until 11:00 when I was supposed to start moving with people who agreed to help at 9:30. The guy seemed sorry but not genuine. Also didn’t have my truck ready as he said he had to wait until it arrived. I was very disappointed and would like a refund.

The first turck i was assigned had a flat tire. It was clearly flat with a hole out of the sidewall. This is not something that could easily be looked over and should not have been allowed to be rented. The next truck that I got was completely filthy. Disgusting. It was the only other truck available so I had to take it. The Good - both times i called into Uhaul customer service, the representatives were very helpful and did a good job.

Let people know your store hours. Was not told No one would be working or open until I called the company. My bill showed an amount which is now showing a higher amount. No one at store when I returned truck to help checkout. Very unhappy about the different prices I was told. Not expecting to get an extra $40 charge.

When a customer reserves a truck to be picked up outside of business hours and accepts the notification to pickup the truck via mobile check-in, the truck should ACTUALLY be tied to the reservation so that the customer can pick up the truck when they arrive (hours before the location opens). It'd also be great if the person listed as the 24/7 contact who was listed as the person who could resolve my problem actually answered their phone when I tried calling 3 separate times (and never called back to apologize, even hours later). The 800 number I called to try to finally get customer service told me that I had 2 options, wait 2 hours for the location to open or to wait 3 hours for some center in Arizona to open and talk to them. Overall this was a horrific experience and caused me to start moving 2 hours later than expected when people were already at my house to help me move since I told them to be there a few minutes after I was supposed to pick up the truck I had reserved.

easy to locate the facility. staff were friendly. the tire pressure monitor light was on the entirety of my trip, so I wasn't aware of my mileage. Not a huge deal, but I trusted the attendant to check the miles once I returned. I did trust him, but would have been a hassle if you wanted to know/keep track of miles. Overall would use the store again, mainly because the location was most convenient for me.

This location completely botched the self-service pick up process. They put the keys to the truck in the wrong key box. We called the 24/7 number we were given four times and an employee finally called back. The employee then gave us the code to the right key box and we were on our way shortly thereafter. This mishap delayed my scheduled pickup by 45 minutes. It was scheduled for 7:30 AM and we weren't able to get the keys until 8:15 AM.

The truck was in terrible shape- dirty inside, very rough ride, especially noisy. The location did not have the pads I reserved. He did not walk me out to inspect the truck. Not impressed. I did contact the Old Milford location where I prefer to rent from (they didn't have the equipment I needed) and they were extremely helpful getting me the pads I wanted.That location is always clean and staff normally helpful.
