What an awful experience, I made the reservation online and the latest pickup time that was offered was 7:30am which makes no sense because it was a contactless pickup that I could make from my phone. Once I check in and open up the truck I find out the dolly that I ordered and was charged for was missing. I call customer service and they tell me to just go to another location, then transferred me to someone else to get a refund and they hung up on me. So now I had to pay for gas/milage on the truck to drive to home depot and buy a dolly cause nobody will help me. When I go to return the truck the guy is unable to take the charge off of my bill and gives me a number to call. I call the number and talk to someone, he says he has to transfer me to a different department and he transfers me to the same phone prompt that I originally called. Extremely disappointed in this entire experience, will not be using Uhaul again.

I was suppose to pick up truck at 5pm. Got there at 455pm and they said no one could help me. I called uhaul in desplaines to tell them and they said I had to do online, took 45 min. Truck was dirty on outside and mirror all busted and taped. Very bad experience this time.

Usually I've had no problems with u-haul, in the past experiences. However, this time, even though it was a local move (Des Plaines to Naperville), they wanted me to drop-off the truck at the Pick Up location and to top it off, they mentioned about this only a day before, which pressurized the move-in work, than it already was. I would never ever recommend this place to pick-up the u-haul truck. I never had this problem, when i wanted to move-out between 2 states and this time i am very disappointed.

Nothing wrong with this location. But my experience with U-Haul online and on the phone was a nightmare. I'll never use you again, and I am committing to let everyone I know what a shitty joke of an operation U-Haul is. I'd give you a million negative stars if I could. From the stupid text messages to your idiot customer service - laughably terrible.

could not find u-haul drop box. ended up dropping off to cashier at car wash. When I gave him the keys, he told me he'll get back with me in a couple minutes while he took three customers for car wash (Which I understand because it's a priority). After taking his customers, he told me to be he will be back in a couple minutes (went to car wash), then he came back and asked if I wanted a receipt. I said no, to which he said I'm done. if that's all he had to ask me, then just ask right away so i can be on my way.

The van was clean for the most part, but there was dried mud on the drivers side floor, and the cargo area floor could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was fine. -I had problems with the online check in and could not get the code to unlock the key lock box. I found the website and app to be a bit cumbersome. I had to wait for the owner to arrive and get checked in manually, all of which delayed my day. But, the owner was very cordial and helpful and got me on my way.

Please train your employee to treat the customer with respect. Not to be rude and not to be mean. Otherwise ,I will not definitely go back there and I will not recommend U-Haul to my friends.

The online authorization kept booting me out. I walk asked for two individuals other than myself to verify my identity. Instead of telling me the person on the other line didn't pick up the phone, I was booted out of the authorization process and had to start over. I don't understand why the chat feature is there if it isn't going to be used effectively. I Returned the vehicle with the same amount of fuel that was in the truck when I picked it up and I was charged a fuel surcharge. I first tried to pick up my vehicle at 7:05 but because of the authentication process, wasn't able to get the keys to my truck until after 8am. Absolutely terrible.

When we picked up the truck, the gas reading was exactly on the 1/8 hash but the sheet we were given stated it was 3/16 (exactly between 1/8 and 1/4). Not a huge deal ($10?), but we pointed this out to the attendant thinking it would be a quick fix. The attendant was very nice and professional, but he spent ~15 minutes trying to get a refund for us but was unsuccessful because of the computer system. At least he tried... In the end, he did correct it on the paper sheet and initialed it, telling me to bring it up with the drop-off site. But also, who rents out a truck with only 1/8 a tank of gas in it and then expects a customer to return it with exactly 1/4 of a tank and then won't refund any overage above 1/4 tank? Renting from Uhaul is like playing a carnival game. I've never received or returned a Penske with less than a full tank.

Road destruction along S River made access a bit challenging! but that's temporary and not under control of the business. Carlos was friendly and attentive. The cargo van drove like a, well, cargo van. But it performed well over 750 miles. The furniture dolly had a bad wheel bearing, but when I returned it and mentioned that to Carlos, he said he'd get it fixed. Des Plaines Car Wash, where U-Haul is located, also supports area first-responders -- a plus in my book.

store was not opened for return till 8:30 even though it was supposed to be open at 8,i had to drop off and then they charged me $9 for gas despite of I filled up gas, not renting from that location again.

I made the reservation for phone pick up. I declined all optional charges. I was unable to complete express check-in for this location. When I got there, I had to give my CC and ID (which is fine). The gentleman checking out the truck for us did not ask me if I wanted additional coverage; instead, he disregarded what I placed on my reservation (I.e. Decline of all optional coverage) and added it anyway. I followed up via email to remove the charge and have not received a response back. Very disappointed.

WORST UHaul facility i have ever been in. It was like I was bothering them, were not friendly, took forever to do the paperwork and then told me the draw bar and ball needed to be flipped over as the drop was too much, but they could not help, as they don't do that type of work. Told me to go home and use a pipe wrench to loosen the ball! I could have never loosened that with out an impact wrench! Extremely frustrated so I went to the UHaul location I requested and preferred at Oakton & Mt.Prospect rd. They were appalled as the trailer was loose and not hooked up properly. They made the change with the bar & ball, hooked up the trailer properly, checked all of the lights (the other place did not) and apologized for the problem. They are a FIRST CLASS operation. NEVER go to the Des Plaines Car Wash uHaul location. they are the worst!!

Truck had no dolly or moving blankets which always come with rental in the past. Made moving very difficult. Also my pickup location changed twice. Very inconvenient and almost thought I wasn't gonna have a truck for my move.

"Modify the client user interface. To be more astounding, U-Haul's booking system archaic. Uber type app and booking systems are a dime in a baker's short order dozen. Junk your software and be more cloud based. The safety and security are light years ahead of your software's bandwidth alone. An supported updated booking app and website will reduce equipment theft, lost and unaccounted for equipment, general expenses. That alone will show on your income statement. An increase in traffic solely to a better U-Haul app that actually has a complete booking system that is user friendly- priceless!!! Come on U-Haul lest we forget Sears...". -Anonymous loyal customer.
