This was a horrible experience. No one there No internet hot flies It took over an hour of our time to return the U haul. Why doesn't Brookings have a return place for U haul?

U-Haul really needs to better Vet who becomes an outlet. This was a broken down Welding shop, and the dude wasn't even there for my Pick up. I had to call and thankfully I was able to express Check out online and finalize it over the phone with an agent. The trailer was was down the back of the building in a rough grassy area. Now overly hard to get to but the path was really rough and rutted. I fear what it would have been like if it was wet or raining. Also the trailer had a good amount of sand and gravel all over the ramps the car sits on. Finally one of the strap ratchets was REALLY hard to move from being rusted. I struggled to get it undone and fought to get it snug enough to get the car to a Walmart where I bought some PB Blaster to loosen it up. From there the ratchet was okay. The trailer itself worked fine, Towed fine, all lights worked and was in decent shape.
Justin LongoI was supposed to pick up in Flandreau SD. That reservation was guaranteed. But when I got there, I called, I knocked, I left a messages, and I waited. There was no trailer on the lot. Nothing. Finally uhaul called me back and said I could pick up in SF. If I had wanted to pick up in SF I would have reserved SF. I was told that because of this mixup I could drop off in Brookings. I verbally confirmed this with the gentleman on the phone and again at the pickup in SF. However the paperwork said I was to drop off in Flandreau. So I did, again no one there. The website states reservation guaranteed or you get $50 back. But of course no mention of it.
ASHLEY ANGUIANONo one at the site when I arrived. Sioux Falls guaranteed my trailer for 9 am, got there and they had switched it to 4:30 pm. I had a noon pickup appointment, but no one cared. I had to go 50 miles to get a trailer, then find out that I have to return it 50 miles one way that night. Everyone from Customer Service, store in Sioux Falls, and Traffic were extremely rude and no one ever apologized once for the hassle I had to go through. I teach and coach customer service at my job and if my team ever treated a customer like I was treated they would be gone that day. I will never use U-Haul ever again. Penske will be my choice from now on, and I plan on using all my energy on social media to tell this story over, and over, and over again. I've never been treated like this ever before and it is extremely embarrassing for your company.
Gregg ThompsonOur initial destination pickup sent us an hour away to get our trailer. We have never used a trailer before. There was no one there (at all) we called and the guy just told us to take it. It was parked on a bumpy patch of waste ground. Terrible experience very stressful!!! Would not recommend to a friend!!!!

The lady was very rude and told me I did not have a reservation but it was only a request for a trailer. She was the worse customer service person I have ever encounter .

anthony gonsorNothing was wrong with Dusty's weld shop. He was helpful getting the trailer unhooked and listened to my complaints about the trip. My reason rating so low is because my initial drop location was suppose to be in Brookings,SD. This is where I applied for my drop off and was billed for my drop off. But halfway through my trip to Brookings uhaul changed my drop off location to Flandrue. I was less that thrilled about this because it ment that I had to drive 40 minutes out of my way to a location was not agreed on nor had i made plans for that to be in my travel schuedule which ultimate left me in a jam. My biggest complaint here is i made a reservation for my trailer a month in advance and I was told that the location was closed a month prior to when I made my reservation. My complaint here is if the location was closed before I even made my reservation why would uhaul allow me to even select the Brookings drop off location that was there. I was extremely unhappy about this and when I contacted the customer service they didnt care in the least bit and didnt try to help me resolve my problem. I would like to be contacted to discuss these problems that occurred.
Aaron JenkinsOnline registration should allow US to choose a drop off location CLOSE to our destination, and not auto fill (return to pickup location) when we registered rental as ONE WAY. If your online site mapped locations / dealers based on zip codes, it wouldn't be so messed up! Even your help desk seemed to not realize there were dealers within 60 miles of my destination. I had to learn about them from locals and then work thru local dealer to redirect my drop off to a closer destination.

INSTEAD, I'M GOING TO CONTINUE TELLING MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY HOW POORLY THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS; HOW THEY CONSTANTLY PUNT YOUR ISSUES AROUND THAT ITS DAUNTING TRYING TO GET A PROBLEM RESOLVED; HOW THEIR REPRESENTATIVES EXPLICITLY LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS TRYING TO GET THEIR PROBLEM RESOLVED; HOW UHAUL TELLS CUSTOMERS TO RESERVE TRUCKS THAT MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE WHEN THEY GO TO PICK IT UP OR MAY NOT BE AT THE LOCATION THEY REQUESTED TO PICK IT UP. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, CUSTOMER SERVICE.
