Make sure you know how to check the truck in when the place is closed we brought the truck back way early and dropped the key off and didn’t know we had to take pictures of the mileage and gas and we locked the doors so we paid for the truck longer than we used it

We did mobile 24 hour drop off and could not find the drop box, location was difficult to find and then no drop box. When we called, scheduling was already closed so we ended up leaving the keys locked in the uhaul after being there almost an hour!

Don't expect any help hooking up your trailer. And, to add insult, I was charged a "courtesy return fee" by this U-Haul vendor for no reason whatsoever. Called back to the store and the person said that they could not reverse the charge. I immediately called National U-Haul and the charge was removed. The agent at the National Office said the local store should not have done that. Take your chances with the Albert Lea store!!

The truck needs to have it's brakes and shocks checked. The brakes were squeaking and the whole back end was bouncing around. I also don't see why you have to replace the gas used when you get charged per mile already.

It was hard to locate. Couldn't see the sign from the highway, the store was inside a mall. Trailer was very dirty on the outside. Improvements: Better signage OR put directions on their website where to go (inside the mall/behind the mall, etc...)

Trailer leaked really bad and my personal effects got soaked and damaged and there is wrecked items I'm out $1,500 dollars at least to replace items because of a leaky trailer very very upset because I don't have money to just throw away and replace these things

I now see I am charged a $20 Service Fee because I dropped my truck off a day early and on a Saturday. I call the 800 number and talked to someone at U-Haul and checked the truck in with him.

No signs to find the drop off location. Had to stop by a random hardware store and ask where to take the truck. Finally found the drop off location. No one was there to help due to a late evening drop off. Signs need to be placed to direct people to the drop off location and the gps location for the drop off was incorrect as well.

This location needs a sign to let people know there is a UHaul in the back of the mall. It was difficult to find for someone not familiar with the location of drop off.

One problem. I reserved a trailer for two days. I picked up the trailer and only ended up using it for one day, in fact, I returned it in approximately 2 1/2 hours after picking it up but got billed for the two full days. How is the rental location going to fix this error with the billing issue?

I was overcharged for the use of the car dolly. Have rented recently in the past for 50 dollars. I was charged 86.00 to use it for 3 hrs. Was charged and then had to drive 40 miles out of my way to get it. 1 location near me didnt jave one and the other one that did have 1 wasn't open until 1 p.m. what kind of business opens at 1p.m. and closes at 5pm? Shit show. Not impressed. Not sure if I would use the disaster ever again. The straps on the dolly were so worn out and stretched I had to pull off the freeway ever 20 miles to retighten. Wasn't happy to say the least

Suggestion: Have signage out directing people where to go. The location is not ideal for in person rental needs but works great for 24/7 truck share mobile needs and self explanatory.

I booked online and it still took 45 minutes for him to figure out how to check the stuff out on his computer. The Uhaul was not cleaned and smelt like wet dog. I had no other options as I was moving across the country and had to deal with the wet dog smell. Uhaul has done nothing to rectify the situation.

The employee was very pleasant and helpful. She put the trailer on and tried to help me with another item but you don’t rent it. I was looking for a dolly that you could lay down for a cart. The location was a little hard to find with it behind a mall building and no signage.

The trailer was not hooked up even though we were told it was. We drove the car on the trailer and the trailer flew up and almost hit us. We were told that the employees boyfriend hooked it up since she was hurt. There was no apology and the employee walked away when we were telling them what happened. The inside was absolutely disgusting and smelled awful! They also told us to ask for a gas credit since we had to drive to get it and when we asked the drop off location they told us that that doesn't even exist!

Ordered a 15 foot truck online and then received a call saying it wouldn’t be available. 10 foot was available or I could drive the 15 foot truck from the Twin Cities to Albert Lea and back again. Would’ve been a waste of time and money. Unfortunate that I didn’t know that from the beginning as it made moving more difficult.

The location was hard to find as it is on back side of mall. I didn't see any signage on Bridge Ave to help locate it. If there was, it was hard to see. The agent was very helpful though in helping hitch up the trailer and making sure lights worked. She was friendly and willing to answer questions and explain paperwork. I didn't get her name but she was great.

Extremely hard to find in a really odd location. I called several times to confirm the location and no one answered. When I walked in, the staff member was at his desk ignoring a ringing phone call. He was clueless about my questions and not helpful. I would have driven to the next city over had I know it would be like this.

I didnt want to answer "no" but many didnt deserve a yes either. Drop off is hard to find BEHIND a strip mall tucked in a corner with terrible parking. Walk in a confusing door to be met with a big open unkept room at the back of a furniture store. They were very friendly and even the unkept room wasnt horrifying but not having a clue what to do or where to go left me feeling like a lost little idiot. Not exactly the last impression you want in a customers head about your company. Luckily I know that to be the exception the other 90% of the time but man that place needs to work on signs with arrows or somthing. I went over my miles by 1.5 miles driving around looking for where to drop it off so essentially lack of directions cost me 69 cents in mileage that should have been avoidable. To be fair I did not read on my contract about calling in ahead so I accept partial blame but would a UHAUL ---> sign be so terrible?

Reserved a 10' truck. Got there for appt and the truck had just been rented out to someone else even though I had a confirmed reservation. Ended up with a 15' for the same price but was more truck than I needed and had to secure my contents now to prevent them from moving around in excess space. What the heck?

I have lived in Albert Lea Minnesota for 8 years and have had a horrible experience with a ton of businesses, but I truly felt welcome at this location. I wouldn't have had it any other way Mrs.Reuter and the part time assistant both you guys ROCK.

I rented a motorcycle trailer online three days before I picked it up. When I got there, the trailer had 14 inches of snow in the back, it was frozen to the ground, and buried in a snowdrift. We had not had a snow for over a week. It took 30 minutes to get the trailer hooked up to my car, and no mention or help Of the fact it had so much snow in it. I had no shovel, I had to borrow one from the person I bought the motorcycle from to shovel the damn trailer out so the motorcycle could get in. And the trailer is so poorly suspended, it bounced around violently going 5 mph under the speed limit. It did not track well, and was extremely noisy.

The truck can was not as clean as it might have been, otherwise the truck itself was perfect for my needs. My only frustration was having to wait to get keys and do paperwork for my rental....as the only person on site was helping another customer. I was to have picked up the truck at 0945 and I pulled away from the location more than a half hour behind schedule. Once the employee was able to assist me, she was quick, accurate and extremely pleasant. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience! Thank you.

Second rental from this location within the last 30 days and trucks were not ready for pickup either time. The second time I ended up having to shovel a substantial amount of snow myself to be able to get the truck out as the one and only employee was busy with other customers and phone calls. Shouldn't accept reservations for trucks if you cannot have them ready on time. Sadly this is the only Uhaul location in town.
