Roberta Athe gentleman there, I belive his name is Jonny, was very helpful. This was the first time I used this location but if I need to rent another truck in Escondido I would most definately return to this store.
Bill WAfter waiting over an hour for someone to arrive, my vehicle was empty of fuel. Employee who walked in without even saying hello grunted at me, said "I fucked up today" and then gave me the wrong keys to the wrong vehicle. It's hard to imagine a worse scenario than this. I probably would have been better off renting a wheelbarrow and leashing a dozen hamsters to pull it then going through this wretched experience again. Worst experience with Uhaul in 20 years hands down.
Jacob WCharlie was awesome. The online service and forced app usage was complete garbage and infuriating. No one wanted to help me. Charlie made that all better in the shop!
Aeryn BI did mobile check in and was still told I needed to wait in line because the guy working didn't like that I did mobile check in during business hours as that was not his preference. He did not let me "skip the line" like the app tells you too. He helped the customer in front of me hook up and get their rental making which was timely and frustrating. The whole check in was pretty irrelevant as he still wanted to double check me in for scamming reasons. Mobile check in verified my ID, a selfie, location, and had me put down to reference to verify and he still wanted to do his own investigation. I was just supposed to show him the phone and get the key like I have in the past. Easy. I've even rented U-Haul's that had lock bock codes on them with keys and no interaction at all. This was just an all around odd experience and disappointing. Don't give a quick and easy option if you're going to disregard it.

Melissa MThe truck I rented was not even checked by any one picked it up on Sunday 2/25/24 drove it to my moving location and the next day the truck was leaking oil all over my driveway did not notice the oil leak after we had our first run to the new home is 2 blocks away after unloading the truck there was a new pile of oil on my new home I just moved into . Called the location did not get answer as it was just ringing off the hook. I took the truck back this morning at 9:15 and got a new rental contract for another truck . Please call me as I need to be reimbursed for the cleaning of the oil leaking for both houses . Please contact me at (503) 551-2310 to discuss this matter. Thank you .

steve cI forgot the young gentleman's name that was helping me at my local U-Haul on East Lincoln avenue, Escondido. Very helpful and very respectful. The best experience I've had at any rental yard by far.
Paul NCustomer service is great here! The man working here is super nice and helpful, but the location is a little sketchy, although conveniently located near the 78 freeway. I recommend maybe getting security here, brighter parking lot lights, and a fence around the parking lot for your own sake.

Ellen RAs seen in the pictures when picking up the rental, this was not a good experience. When I arrived to pick up the rental, the truck was open from both the driver side and the back. The gas cap was also open which leads me to assume gas was possibly siphoned before I arrived. I had also requested furniture pads and an appliance dolly. Neither were in the truck which was an inconvenience when moving. I also expect a refund for the dolly and furniture pads since I didn't recieve any and I was still charged for them.

Paula PI understand your business model is based on speculation, but I really didn't appreciate the stress that came with being canceled on twice! I had to switch moving days to pick up at a different location, and my movers were running late because of the change. I will NEVER use Uhaul again because of the stress, and extra money that I had to spend because of the mandatory cancellations.

Randy KProbably the worst U-Haul experience I've had. The truck's battery died after an hour or two for leaving the hazard lights on. Waited over an hour just to get road side assistance out to our place to get a jump.
Ronald JU Haul changed my drop-off location from Ramco in Ramona, CA to this location in Escondido. I am very upset I had to drive 2 hrs round trip yesterday, on a holiday, to drop off the trailer. I will never use U haul again if I can help it. Customer service didn't give a crap and was rude about the change.
Jesse SI reserved moving pads and a dolly and there were no moving pads on-site. This was very frustrating since my reservation had been confirmed.

Sherri CThis location provided a (24 hour) drop off option - which I totally appreciate! Due to some minor issues with my rental truck and the time spent trying to reach someone and back and forth text messages with U Haul - extended my already delay for the day. This location offered a (24 hour) drop off option. Location was easy to find, it was a busy weekend so if you have a larger truck (I had a 20') to park the lot after hours was limited. There was a parking space, the instructions via the drop off link sent to my cell phone was very explanatory and easy to follow. The location has a drop off box outside their door. They closed me out without any issues and sent me an confirmation email. Happy ending - I was able to drop off truck within minutes from my move location and this location offers drop off service. I will use this location again. Merci.

EliZabeth JTo whom it may concern, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the Uhaul services I received from my pick up September 30th until October 2, 2023. I rented a trailer along my Uhaul truck from Santa Maria, CA and dropped it off at Escondido location and I had a very poor experience with the pickup and drop-off process. First of all, the pickup service was very slow and unprofessional. I had to wait a long time to get the trailer, and when I finally got it, it was defective. The tire straps were defective and unsafe to drive with. I had to ask the staff to get me a new tire and a strap, and they did not seem to care about my situation. They did not apologize or offer any compensation for the delay and inconvenience. Secondly, the drop-off service was even worse. When I arrived at your location in San Diego, California, at 9:30 am, there was no one at the facility. I needed some help to detach the trailer from my vehicle since no one showed me how to do it at the pickup location. I called your customer service number and asked for assistance, but I had to wait for four hours for someone to come. This was unacceptable and frustrating. I wasted a lot of time and money waiting for your service. Moreover, I could not find anyone to hand over the keys to. I had to leave them in a drop box, hoping that they would not get lost or stolen. I am very disappointed and angry with the Uhaul services I received. I feel that I did not get the value for what I paid for. I request a partial refund for the inconvenience and trouble you caused me. Please respond to this complaint as soon as possible and let me know how you will resolve this issue. Sincerely, Kamal Bennacer
