The check in process was not working for us, we sat on hold for over 30 minutes waiting for a U-Haul representative to assist with the online process. Once we were finally able to get help the process took an additional 20 minutes. When we return the vehicle, we might as well have been employed by U-Haul. We had to take multiple pictures and go through several steps online before even returning the vehicle. It seems U-Haul has attempted to streamline the online process by eliminating the in person service instead and making customers do the work.Kimbrel L.

WORST.UHAUL.RENTAL.EXPERIENCE.EVER!! Where to begin. We were moving from Knoxville to Atlanta Metro area last weekend. I had a caravan of 4 cars (family and paid movers) on our way Saturday when I received a phone call from Uhaul while still over an hour away from our 26' truck pickup location (Villa Rica, GA). The CSR informed me that there was a glitch in the system and it seems another renter was able to reserve the same truck as mine and that he arrived before me and left with the truck and there were no other trucks available within a 30 mile radius. I said that this was unacceptable and that Uhaul has effectively ruined my move. The CSR said I shouldn't get so angry - she was afterall giving me this courtesy call to keep me from wasting my trip to the pickup location. I said she had yet to hear me angry and said she needed to expand her search radius. She did and found me a 26' truck in Cartersville, 55 miles away from my destination but luckily only 11 miles from where I was at the moment. She got snippy and said that I shouldn't be upset considering I made my reservation that morning. I corrected her and told her to look at the account - I CONFIRMED my reservation that morning, but I had RESERVED the truck JUNE 5th, a month prior. For my trouble she said she lowered my mileage rate from 79 cents a mile to 40 cents. I said that was a nice gesture but insufficient as instead of a total of 60 miles of driving (back and forth between storage and our new home twice), I now had to add 110 additional transportation miles plus the fuel needed to drive those extra miles. The discount didn't cover the added mileage or the fuel. She said that was all she could do. So we raced to Carterville to get there before 1:00 PM, the time the rental location office was closing. We made it at 12:49. Too bad that the office was closed early. The truck was there but it was set up for Truck Share 24/7. Too bad that they didn't send me the code to unlock the truck. So we log into the app and follow the instructions and the magical â€˜Unlock My Truck' option never appears on my cell phone. So we call Uhaul and get into the giant black hole that is waiting for the next available agent. Over 30 minutes later, we get an agent that walks us through the same steps we had followed repeatedly and still no ability to unlock the truck (get the combination for the padlock). After 30 more minutes of trying multiple things, she finally asks me if we have an iPhone to which I said yes. She then explains that their system doesn't really work well with iPhones and she finds a work around top verbally tells me the unlock code. DOESN'T WORK well with iPhones? Seriously? Who programmed the app, Joe Shoen's (CEO of Uhaul) 13 yo grandson in his basement? Get some real programmers, Joe! We finally get in the truck and sure enough, it smells like cigarettes. So much for cleaning my truck for me before I rent it. Thanks Joe, for STANDARDS! So the truck otherwise was OK. It started, ran, stopped and hauled our stuff as needed, just from the wrong pickup location. Fast forward to now trying to return the truck - you only thought the story ended here - HA! I called and asked if I could return the truck to a closer location considering all of the problems Uhaul created for me (JOE - This is YOUR company - YOU are Uhaul!). The CSR said sorry, there was nothing she could do. I had to return it to the location from which I got it. So we drive 55 miles to Cartersville and return it only to find that the same crappy APP that wouldn't let me pick up my truck now won't let me return it. The first error is the APP couldn't confirm my location. There was a link to instructions to follow to enable â€˜find my location'. I followed the instructions and still had no luck. So we call Uhaul AGAIN and are placed on Black Hole Hold, AGAIN for 30 minutes. The CSR picks up and I tell her what is going on with the APP. She says she's sorry and will now transfer me to an IT specialist. Guess what happened next. ANOTHER 30 minute Black Hole Hold. Surprise! The IT guy gets on and I tell him what's happening. Without a moment's pause, he tells me 4 steps that I need to follow to make a change in the iPhone settings to enable location tracking. I followed the steps and voila, the APP finally worked the way it was meant to. I asked him if he gets a lot of calls with my issue and he said yes. I further asked why these additional 4 steps aren't on the APP - it would save countless amounts of customer frustration. He didn't have an answer. I have an answer - It would only make the customer experience better, something that UHAUL does not understand. A side note: while on hold for that additional last hour, I inspected the tires on the truck and determined that they were the original tires that came with the truck when it was manufactured in 2015. These tires had over 56 000 miles on them and were so dry rotted that I'm lucky they didn't blow on my move. Any family unlucky enough to drive that to California will be playing Russian roulette with their lives at stake. So ends my Uhaul story. Uhaul did everything in its power to ruin my move. Thanks Joe! Not only did you cost me unnecessary additional money, you STOLE my time. You robbed me of hours driving your truck instead of moving, hours on hold, hours more just waiting for your systems to work. How do I bill you for that Joe? I'll tell you how. I'm driving my daughter to West Virginia this Fall. I just canceled my Uhaul reservation for that truck and reserved a Penske. I don't personally know Roger, but if he runs his rental fleet one tenth as well as he does his racing enterprises, I suspect I will be a new Penske customer forevermore. As for Uhaul? Ustink. I think it was very poor customer service. 1. I put that I wanted face-to-face service and was switched to that app. While this may be efficient, if I wanted the app I would have chosen it in the first place. 2. While I have an iPhone 10, It is assumed that all customers have adequate cell coverage (particularly in a rural location) or a cell phone. All customers do not. 3. If the location was not open on Wednesdays, it should have stated so clearly when I made the appointment. I would have gone to another location or chosen another service. 4. The app process is clunky and time-consuming. 5. It's never good service to show up at a location and it's closed for business on a weekday. 6. The customer service reps tried to help but could not and put me right back in the phone loop. Which caused another delay. 7. The whole process took one and a half hours, which severely delayed our appointed time in South Carolina. As a manager that demands positive service to guests, this was by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had - and a lesson for my direct reports of what not to do. Because of this experience, I will never use U-Haul again and will tell others not to do so. I will use Penske from now on if the occasion warrants it.Ken R.
I really liked the 24/7 system. It frees you up to make pick ups and returns on your own schedule. Worked flawlessly. The truck was in good condition and ran great. It actually surprised me the gas mileage the 20' truck got also. Thanks Euharlee Storage for great service. I will definitely use them in the future.Robert G.
My entire experience with U-Haul was outstanding. The truck was clean and ran great, we had no problems in moving a three bedroom house from Savannah to Cartersville Georgia. We will use U-Haul again when my daughters finds a new home.Paul W.

Very polite staff. The Uhaul I ordered was not available to me for long haul due to excessive mileage. Uhaul company called this location to fulfill my order. They were actually closer to my starting point and the truck was newer & great condition, as well as clean and ready to go for me in a matter of minutes. Office is in a quaint little shed type building but what it lacks in glamore is made up for in maintaining quality equipment.Althea C.

I drove from Florida to get there and It was extremely important that I pick up the trailer but I had a flat on the way up and was possibly going to be late. When I called to let them know I talked to a young lady named Christy. She was willing to wait for me to get there even though they would be closed. You rarely find that kind of attitude anymore. Everything was fine with the location and the vehicle. However I had some serious problems with the order over all. When I placed the order through the website I placed the order for a vehicle in Cartersville as well as some packing supplies. I received an email confirming my reservation for a vehicle, but it was in in Acworth.....many miles away. I called and once I talked to a person the reservation was moved to someplace closer however they weren't open on Sunday's so I still had to pay for an extra day. Regarding the supplies....how and when they would be received wasn't clear on the website. So I ended up with supplies (which I needed for the move on Sunday) being delivered to my house on Monday.....after the move.Lurah B.
