Location itself is cramped but OK. Think some staff could be better trained--check-in took a very long time, made worse by the online check-in not working and having to match up the key to the truck serial number. Otherwise, equipment was in really good shape and supplies (blankets) were ready for us.

This is partly a problem with corporate. The app said that the pickup location was open until 9 but when I arrived, even though the store was open, there was a sign that said that they only did U-Haul until 6! I was able to convince the owner to rent it anyway.

Had to wait over hour and half for the people lay me have truck truck I rented had no brakes almost crashed three times. It was a nightmare almost hit two cars in front becuase brakes brake pedal hittting floor. Should have crashed so I could get my lawyers not right paying for something that could have killed people

Very poor ! Truck was dirty , parking lot was a disaster! Attendant did not print out rental agreement so I had nothing to say I did not steal the truck ! I will never use this place again!!

Truck was dirty, check engine light was on, and ody of truck smelt like it was just used for hauling hot garbage. U haul customer service was great, location was the worst. Never use monticello location, I will be telling anyone that listens.

This place was discussing the service was terrible . I used the truck for an hour to move a pool table and being that the back was dirty and had dirt and rocks in it scratched my table. Inside the cab was gross there was a dead plant in a pot on the dash and a Jewish bible or something . Very upset with service. The lot the truck was is was flooded and muddy . I had to step in a puddle to get to the truck which made my foot soaked .

The person working at this stores location did not know anything about the UHAUL portion of the store. I ended having to wait an hour and a half for the owner to arrive to complete my paperwork and take the rental truck

I was told by the uhal company in Middletown that if I returned the uhal before closing the next day I would be charged as a one day rental. The location I picked up from was charging me for 2 days because I was an hour late. Then charged me for not leaving the fuel on full but I have pictures of a full tank

The only downside is that the clerk was busy with convenience store customers, but the wait was not terrible. Other than that the experience was excellent. Best part was that this was the only place around where I could rent without a smart phone. A++ for that!

When I got home to Long Eddy from Monticello, after picking up food for Blessing Food pantry, in Callicoon, I realized I did not ask for receipt for uhaul which I needed for Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY. I called Mobil express , where I rented uhaul from and when I asked for receipt to be sent to me, I was told "already done". Thank you for the pleasant experience with uhaul.

The guy at the counter seemed to know very little about what I (or he) was doing. He vaguely pointed to a lot, but I figured out my process myself. It was more of a mini-mart and he seemed disinterested in the whole deal. I was exhausted after moving and a more friendly, knowledgeable staff member would've been welcome.

This location was absolutely disgusting, no customer service skills, the truck was stuck in ice and snow and nothing had been plowed. The property was also dangerously icy and I'm 9 months pregnant. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

My worst experience ever with uhaul at this location.Employees had no experience with reservations..I had to go outside and reserve myself and then had to wait 45 minutes for them to confirm my reservation..I felt harassed and uncomfortable with this experience..I will never use this location again.

I went in looking for a 20 foot truck. This place told me that no one had a 20 foot truck and I would have to rent a 15 foot. The next day I was bringing my stuff to a storage unit and drove past another uhaul company that had the 20 foot. I went inside and that gentleman said he had the truck since the 13th. The place in monticello took advantage of me and lied just to get me to rent his truck and waste my money and time. His truck was filthy and had drug baggies in it, that inhaled to clean prior to use. I will not be using uhaul to get my stuff out of storage. And I am going to discourage everyone from using it as well

Worst experience ever! Truck went dead. When we called the store was told he does not "give a Sh**" to call 800 #. Service said they didn't have anyone available to wait until the morning. After I had a fit they sent some one three hours later. I am still waiting for my refund!!

Location was not requested site,18 miles further away. Vehicle was filthy (cab/bed/outside/tail/etc), gas was not Full. Took vehicle as was the only truck on site in Monticello. The vehicle had 43K miles, but had bad sway in driving and shock/suspension was poor. I've driven many truck=s (auto and manual) and this was on the low end scale for quality. Showed to Rich and Paula @ return site and they confirmed poor condition.. I took the $28 Insurance as was advised for accident/damage coverage. Was informed @ Monroe location, I could have called & had swapped, (this wasn't explained @ Rental Pick Up location. Would never again use Monticello NY. I have photos of vehicle.

We read the odometer when we received the truck , but did not read the miles out listed on the estimate contract. When we read the miles out on the contract they were less than the actual miles on the odometer and we ended being charged for 30 miles more than we used

They gave me a hard time about putting 1.5 gallons of gas in the truck . I drove 25 miles and they wanted me to put gas in the truck.

Well that location is surrounded by drugs and addictsalike..they are under staffed so it took me over an hour to be driving down the road

Equipment should have been cleaner and there is no separate entrance for truck rentals also no restroom facility available even though food and drink is sold there, which is a New York State Law. Seems the people working for the business were more interested in taking money for scratch offs etc. than waiting on customers for gas and those trying to rent a truck. One person was very rude and condescending giving you the impression he did not have the time to wait on you.

Drop off was easy. We dropped off before official hours and they told us that we would receive an email with the receipt attached. Additional mileage (we went over about 8 miles) would be billed and it was...correctly! No problems at all. It probably helped that I took pictures of everything and they knew that as well!

Get the reservation correct , change it once informed that it was wrong. Problem was with Middletown NY not Monticello.
