They had cigarettes buds and ashes in the truck. It smelled like smoke. I took pictures and put it in their check in website. Then the had the addisady to charge ME a cleaning fee when my husband dropped it off. My husband was in a hurry and the guy was "busy" doing something so my husband just left it and they charged us a cleaning fee. That's unacceptable and we will be calling as soon as they open today. That's so crap and we rent a unit from. Then too!

vada davidson1) The app for afterhours pickup did not work. We had to spend a half hour on the phone with a representative in order to get access to the truck. This put us behind schedule for the entire day. 2) There was a little over a quarter tank of fuel in the truck. 3) The wiper blades would not clean the window - the rubber was coming apart. 4) The truck got stuck in the snow and we had to carry our belongings the extra distance in order to load the truck. Once loaded there was enough weight to provide the necessary traction to get unstuck. One of our helpers said the tires needed to be replaced - I did not confirm this.
Loretta DionI called the 1 800 line and requested a trailer that I could haul a tri that was 61 1/2 inches wide the U haul representative. Told me she had 6' X9' feet trailer that would accommodate my tri ( motor cycle ) . We went to U Haul facility 7630 Bent grass near me. It was 5 PM . We saw the on site Rep. and stated we had a reservation. Inform the clerk that the trailer we had seen on her lot yesterday was too small and that U-Haul had found a trailer that would fit my needs. It was dark and I couldn't see. So we pick up the trailer. I departed at 3:00 am to New Mexico. When I was ready To load tri. The door entrance would not allow tri to roll in. How can you rent me a trailer that doesn't permit me to load up the equipment I wanted to transport? You guys are the experts. Now I also blame myself for trusting U-Haul. I would like my money back. I called your 1 800 number for help and nobody could help me. Drove back with an empty trailer and lost my opportunity to buy the tri. Also lost time 8 hours and the gas I spend to travel there. Help me please
PEDRO HERNANDEZCustomer service is not ideal. Found man was not friendly on Sunday and the truck has so issues like transmission and smokes.

Mary ThachStaff was helpful,but the car hauler was in poor condition. Locking devices were rusted and the straps for the tires were stiff and weren't pliable. It's a safety issue that needs to be addressed by Uhaul directly.

EARL BOHLENMy only complaint is that we closed our storage out on the 6th and I had to pay for the whole month! Not sure I would use the storage again.
Paul RumfordAfter loading, the transmission blew and then I was told I needed to take the truck back to the location to get a new requiring me to unload the entire truck that I just loaded to get a new truck and all I was told was I was pretty much SOL.

Weston PetersonYour app is utterly broken. Its hit and miss what it will let you upload, the entire self-service process is broken because it makes assumptions like when you return the vehicle there is enough light to take pictures. I would N-E-V-E-R rent this way again its utterly unpleasant and as a company it is reprehensible that you would put the responsibility on the customer to do all this with an utterly broken process. You MUST do better.

John DuncanEmailing one time code didn't work for me and wasted 30 minutes of my day. Person wasn't in the office the whole time until after I figured it out. Big waste of time...
Aaron SidesPersonally it felt like the truck was going to fall apart while driving the steering was really hard to use and it felt like it was dragging. I've used 20ft trucks and 26 foot trucks so it has nothing to do with inexperience. The staff was very nice especially because I was stuck moving alone and had to keep the vehicle longer then expected. My biggest issue was the truck itself. It was so dated it still had the moving pad container from when uhaul provided moving pads for you.

MIchael WESTSo when I checked in to get the vehicle, the entire mobile phone check in was a dismal disappointment. If you're going to offer it, make sure it works, very off-putting. So then I have to check in with the person working the desk and, of course, there's a line.... So after waiting to be helped, I get the contract, etc... I think all is well. I go to the vehicle and open it up and the gas is NO WHERE NEAR what is depicted on the contract. The contract says 3/8 of a tank, in actuality it's just over 1/4 tank, and I mean barely, like the left edge of the needle is touching 1/4! I went back to the office to make a note of this; however, by this point the office is locked and no one is available, what the hey?? So since I have no idea how long this additional delay is going to take, I leave since I'm paying people to help me complete this move, and they're on the clock already... After using the van, I return it early and, as usual, there's only one person in the office and he's on the phone. He motions to give him the key, says everything is good, so I depart. An hour or so later I receive the bill and I'm charged an additional $23,1 for "Fuel Charge 4 GL". Now, I put 48 miles on this vehicle and put 4,62 gallons in. I expect this vehicle would average 10 MPG or so, so that appeared to match the gas gauge when I received the vehicle. To add 4 additional gallons would make an absolutely abysmal MPG, in the neighborhood of 4,7 MPG? Really? I would be happy to share the pic of the fuel gauge I took when I received the vehicle, since I couldn't talk to a human in a reasonable time-frame. I was planning to rent a trailer to move some more stuff today, but after receiving this bill, I will not be using this location again and am seriously considering if I need U-Haul again...
Raymond LougeeAt 82 years old I was disappointed that they would not help unload the car unhook the trailer! Pick up location provided full hook up service. I was able to do it with some help from a friend. They also open late for early movers, 9 am for storage service and 9:30 for U Haul service. Check in for storage went very smooth.

They were not even open at the time I was to drop it off...maybe sync the drop off time to when the place is open. And there was a guy in the store the whole time. All I wanted to know was were to put it and he kept saying, we are not open yet.

Alex KlipfelTruck is very old with 163 000 miles. It is automatic but does not shift properly. In these days where nearly every vehicle has a backup camera, these trucks should be retrofitted with one. It would cost maybe $200 per vehicle & make the vehicle infinitely safer now that most drivers are used to the camera. It should be a required industry standard, so maybe you can step up and lead the way.
