The gentleman that runs the shop was great and gave me a heads up about a local parade and fair going on that day. Let me know to get there earlier than my reservation if at all possible and that it would make getting in and out of the location much easier.

Harold is straightforward on dealing customers and a very honest person. I left keys to him without worries he would tamper anything like any others doing bad business practices. The uhaul trucks fuel load scale seems imperfect -at times lower than the computer generated numeric level etc but its not under his control. He is smart to believe computers can be wrong.

First, the telephone operator was talking over me without letting me finish my statements or questions. She seemed poised to argue and treated me as if I was an irate/argumentative client. I wanted clarity. Secondarily, the engine light on the rental truck was on a few minutes into my 7 hour trip. The truck produced plumes of smoke and shook often during the drive. I was towing my car and hoping the vehicle wouldnt break down.

I had made my reservation the day of pick up and the person I spoke with had me us the App for my pick up. When I got to the pick up location I was not able to access the truck with the App. I called U-Haul and the woman told me there was nothing she could do to help because the App could not be used for 24 hours!!!! I made the reservation on the day of pick up!!!! Luckily there was a wonderful man at the location who opened his doors for me even though it was after hours for him. He could not access the truck through the App either so he called for assistance and was told he had to cancel my order and make a new one. IF he had not been at the pick up location I would have been stranded!!!!!!!!!!! I had such a terrible experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The man in th shop Saved me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The uhaul was not ready as promised eventhough I reserved as Herald asked. I was expecting it at 8am and it was not available until 1pm. I moved most of my belongings in my own van. I returned the uhaul that same night and was overcharged...i paid over $60 when i was quoted $29.95 for uhaul and $10 for dollie. Never again! I would like a credit!

The attendant was not aware of the mobile check in process. A new rental contract had to be created, along with additional charges, and the whole thing was very confusing for me and the attendant. I don't blame the attendant for this - he was doing the best he could. The office also had several dogs walking around it. Fine for me but perhaps not for other customers who don't like dogs.

The only thing I would improve upon is making sure that the gas is accurate. On my contract it said that the tank was 5/8ths full, when I entered the vehicle, it was less than half. I didn't complain or anything, it's not the hugest deal, but it did end up costing me like $20 more in gas to return it to the level that was said on the contract. I didn't bother to go in and let them know, I was in a hurry. Again, not the hugest deal, I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

The right rearview mirror was not attached to the truck well enough, and so would spin around with every turn of the truck. My dad was able to fix it when we arrived at my house. Also, the office was dirty and very warm inside.

We were not able to pick up vehicle at the desired location in Camarillo. We were then told Moorpark, and the day of the rental switched to Filmore. This cost us time, gas and additional Uber fares. U-Haul did not provide any compensation for this inconvenience.

I hired 2 movers for 2 hours through the Uhaul.com service. According to the movers, they were not aware they were supposed to show up at the Fillmore Uhaul as the first "Service stop". They claim to have not received a copy of the contract. As a result, they showed up at my house at 11:30 am vs the 11:00 on the contract AND no one was there! My father was waiting at Uhaul for them to show, but they never did. I was finally able to reach them, but by this time (12:30pm) they claimed they had another job and couldn't help us - us being me, a paraplegic and double amputee and my 82 y.o. father. I paid $125.95 up front, but ended up having to find and hire another worker for the day. By this point, we had the truck beyond the 5 hours we'd planned on using it and had to return it after hours, thus having to pay another day of rental. Do you think I'm happy? Hell no! Will I use Uhaul again? Probably not. Though the people at the rental office were nice and very helpful, I need a company I can rely upon for every aspect of my move. Your intermediary hiring service for movers sucks. If the movers don't know where to be on ON TIME, the consequences create a ripple effect as was the case for me. It cost me money, time and a HUGE amount of stress!

My only complaint has nothing to do with this location itself, only the U-Haul website. THE U-HAUL WEBSITE IS TERRIBLE. The information the website tells me is often false, and the information it asks me never seems to get sent to the rental locations. I think you need to have your web designers try to use their own website for actual reservations, including picking up and returning the equipment. Big disconnect between your website and the software that the rental locations use. SAD.

I had a very pleasant experience this weekend at the Fillmore, CA facility with both people who helped me pick up and return the truck rental. Sadly, I did decide to drive one town over from Santa Paula, CA. Due to the fact that when I was originally calling for rental availability in Santa Paula, they lady who helped me was rude and unprofessional. So, it was great that Fillmore gave me much better customer service...

I don't even know where to start. I ordered a 26' truck for pick up in Simi. The day before, I was told I could only get a 20' truck 30 miles away from Simi. 1. I was in the plane when they called and U-haul did not bother to get my agreement before changing the location and size of the truck (my furniture did not get smaller over night) 2. Because the truck was too small, I had to rent with another company to do another trip next week 3. when I booked, insurance was going to be $56. I was charged $86. 4. The contract said the truck was filled up 7/8. It was filled up 3/4... This is from U-haul website: "From its inception, the company’s premise was to help others find an easier, more cost-effective way to move their household goods from one location to another throughout North America." This was definitely not easy OR cost effective. It took a total of 3 HOURS to get the truck!!! Apparently, I was the 4th person having issues with U-haul that morning.
