We had to hook up and un hook the trailer ourselves. Every location I've rented from in the past has hooked up the trailers. The people weren't polite either and confrontational.
Amy SThe truck cab was dirty and the seats torn. Worse yet, the truck continually reeked of gasoline fumes. In loading boxes into the rear of the truck I got a headache from the terrible gasoline fumes. The staff at the Citgo pickup location was especially unhelpful.

kenneth wU haul I picked up was filthy. Full of dog hair, trash and dirt inside the cab. Even some dried blood on passenger seat. Back of van was dirty. I've never had some problem before. People at the pick up location couldn't give a damn. They said to go and find another van at another dealer if I had a problem with it.
NICHOLAS CThe pickup location was not at fault. UHaul was! They got my reservation wrong and caused me a mojor inconvenience. I had reserved a pick up in lexington va but truck was not there when i arrived. I hed to get a ride to staunton instead! Very poor service on uhauls behalf. I will never do an online reservation again

Jonathan PI rented a dolly, and they said nothing about it when I picked up the truck. I assumed it was in the truck. When I started packing the truck, there was a dolly, and I thought it was the one I rented. I found out later that the movers I had hired brought that dolly. So then when I return to the truck, the person at the counter said he has to mark that I didn't return the dolly, and once U-Haul charges me for the dolly not being returned, then I can contact U-Haul and ask for the money back?? I'm suspecting this will be a long process.
Charity PThe folks I worked with were easy to work with and helped me a good deal. It was easy to pick-up and drop off the truck. Only problem I had is that the truck told me a tire was low, but I could not figure out the pressure need to fill the tire up with air.
James RGas level was far below reported level. Truck had check engine light and tire sensor on. Door wasn't sealed properly. Cabin had trash in it. This place renting them out should have their franchise license or whatever it is removed.

William BTell them upfront what ALL the charges will be and also didn't like that the uhaul wasn't filled up,needed air in the tire because the light was on and they guessed how much gas for me to put in it .I told them ahead of time that the tank wasn't full. Also the attendant filled out my uhau forml and put insurance on it without telling or asking me if I wanted it
Helen MWhen I picked the truck it had no gas in it, the key the attendant gave me wouldn't start the truck, so I have to go back into the store and tell him he'd give me the wrong key. He then came out with me and proceeded to pump the brakes and jiggle the switch before he got the truck started. Inside the truck was a bad smell. Check engine light was on as was the tire pressure light. While driving the truck the weather stripping on the windshield drivers side started flapping hitting the drivers side window. I could go on but you get the picture. Needless to say I won't be renting from this place again. Have used U-HAUL many times before and have NEVER had any problems such as this.

Ronald Ayoung man in the store was more help than the first 3calls I had to make to find my truck (the 4th call was great, and diverted me to this location) I was in the store then in the truck in less than 5 minutes, the truck ran find, bounced a bit both empty and full like the shocks were gone, all 4 tires had different air pressues, one low, (yet the high pressure required is not available at any gas station) , back was clean, cab was clean but smelled of cheap deodorizer, , and the passenger side windshield wiper did not move at all, and honestly shocked it was governed to 75mph and no cruise control

roger mThe original pick up location was closed and I could not get the keys with the app. Sarah, the CSR was very helpful and polite but I had to change locations and it took over and hour for me to ultimately get my truck. That part was disappointing.

Michael CI took the insurance off (8) when I was ordering trailer . It said my total was 24.95, but when I got my return invoice it was added back in. I did not want that.
Sherry HThere should be someone at this location at all times that is able to process and/or access the U-Haul system. If the woman is not at the store the other employees have to call her to do anything with the rentals. We had to have roadside come out for the initial truck we rented because the mirror was not stationary. The truck we were given had been wrecked by a previous renter and the mirror was never fixed and had pieces of wood falling out of the mirror once she took it off to inspect it. We were unable to use the truck for over 24hours waiting for roadside to come. After speaking with U-Haul directly on the phone we were told to go back to this location to get a different truck and the man in the store at first refused and said we had to call the state police to report the mirror. Once again he had to call the woman and after some back and forth we finally were able to get her to understand that this was not an accident caused by us, but a previous renter and we were finally given the alternative truck for use.
Hunter WI was offered a trailer that had no working lights. We discovered it had no workig lights after I conected the trailer by myself becasue the employee "doesn't do that." We discovered that the trailer had no working lights, no brake lights, no turn signals. The Uhaul employee asked me to take it to an auto supply store to see if they would fix it. I refused and canceled the c=agreement after I disconnected the trailer. The employee said he didin;t think it would be an issue if I was using it during the day. I have used Uhaul quite a bit in the past 6 to 8 weeks and I found this to be a hguge let dwon. Now I still need to go form Alabama, back to Virginia to move my items at a huge inconvenience. Every other Uhaul location indicated online that there were nbo available trailers in the Staunton, VA area for us to try to use. I thought this was odd, but the sytem reported what it did.
Scott KI'm really sorry but get some one that can speak and understand English we are in America. The guy couldn't understand me and i couldn5 understand him. And ended up getting a to small of truck with no ramp that I couldn't even use for moving my house still ended up have pay for another truck. Don't think I will ever rent from yall again.

Felicia FNeeds to have a representative at site who is able and willing to check in vehicle and equipment at time of return. No pictures were taken of the gas gauge or mileage of vehicle on return. Was told it would be done tomorrow when the representative comes in. Asked me to unhitch auto trailer from truck which I was unable to do. Poor customer service.
Andria SThe drop off experience was great. I parked the truck, checked out in the app and dropped the keys in the box. Was on my way in 5 min which is exactly what I was looking for in the experience. Location being clean/inviting wasn't applicable, as it was a parking lot - but it was clear, safe and well lit and near the highway. I also can't vouch for personnel because I didn't interact with any, I checked out in the app - which was a great experience.
Michael DThe man that rented me the uhaul couldn't understand English and did not walk outside with me to inspect the truck didn't write down the mileage before I left. I do not know what the mileage was on the truck when I took it I was in a hurry because I have been to 4 other places to try to rent a uhaul all told me I had to wait. When I already had people waiting on my to help me move things out of a storage unit.

SAMUELHARRISON PDon’t bother with the 24/7 pick up and drop off using the app. The app is very slow - it would have been faster to just go to the counter to pick up and drop off the truck.

Jonathan BI will say we only used it for a few hours and it ended up being extraordinarily expensive. I would sooner carry things by hand than pay that much ever again.
Kellyn OEverything The vehicle was filthy- There was trash in it. And I had gone into the store to complain. The person didn't really understand what I was saying (not sure if it was a language issue)and came out to see and picked up a couple of papers and that was it. When I got in the front of the cab it was dirty there as well. There was also someone's dirty shoe that was left behind. There was oil in the back on the floor of the truck that took us 40 minutes to get water cleaner and scrub out the rear of the truck. The hand truck was not in the truck when I went to get in the truck. I had to go and ask about it and then I was told to go get it from around the building. Again, wasting my time and interfering with my time schedule. The truck also drove horribly as well. Really this was the worst uhaul experience I have ever had and I have always used uhaul and never was it disgusting and as foul of an experience as this was. If you would like photos ,I have those as well. I will make sure to tell everyone I know here to not get a uhaul from this location.

Matthew PThis was my worst U haul experience ever. If it was my first time using Uhaul I would never go back. But I have used Uhaul before and know it's not like this. The guy had no clue what he was doing. Took over 35mins to finally get a truck. I made the reservation through Uhaul. He never went out to the truck to check anything. He had me do it. Leaving and when I returned it. We had to find the truck by the number. I asked him to add the insurance on it because I didn't when I set it up. His response was oh you God driver you will be ok. No I want insurance. He said he did after multiple times asking him. I had to call Uhaul when I left to make sure because I couldn't get a straight answer from him. He never copied our licenses. He asked for the numbers off it, when I gave n showed him my date if birth. He kept putting in 2027 instead of 1973. So of course it wouldn't take it. He told me I was wrong he need good information. Look dude you have it in front of you. It was just horrible. If time allowed I would've walked out n went elsewhere
SHEILAA CThe location is also a convenience store, which normally would be fine; however, they provide gambling services as well as marijuana, CBD, pipes/bongs ... All kinds of drug paraphernalia that I'm not comfortable with. The employee didn't speak much English which made the transaction difficult, especially because I've been unable to resolve an issue with getting double charged as a result.

Jamie SHad to pay $20 in CASH ONLY for a 4 wheeled cart that read as $7 per reservation. NO INSPECTION of truck or gas line. Very unprofessional.

He overreacted when I told him how many miles I'd be driving and had to call someone for help in entering the number. A bit more training and more experience communicating in English would be helpful to the next customer.

Dear U-Haul, My truck reservation number was #25692381 My truck number was DC 3206R My Pick was 3PM 11/3/22 AAlaways Towing and Tires LLC My drop off was 2:43PM 11/4/22 at First Choice Citgo I was OVERCHARGED for fuel. Please check the pictures I sent to UHAUL when I picked up the truck. The fuel gauge was barely over 1/2 tank and it was NOT A FULL TANK OF GAS. This is just how I left it when I returned the truck. Darryl OI wanted a appliance dolly and was given a regular dolly and was charged the appliance dolly price. The uhaul was dirty on the inside, I did not have anything with liquids or anything that was wet. It looked like someone had used it when it was raining. The sign on the inside said no smoking and there was a cigarette in the cup holder. The light on the dash said it needed a oil change. The uhaul I had was 1507 D or N. You could definitely tell that it probably needed the oil change, it was trying to shift gears or had a slow start once you stopped at a stop sign or stop light. I was moving on a budget and with limited help. I would have kept it longer but I ran out of money. Not sure if I will go back to this location when I need to rent one or not.

TELISHAMETREECE WI was charged $80 for gas when I returned the truck with the same amount of fuel as was in it when I picked it up. Customer service was useless and sent it to the regional manager, who told me I was wrong. I then emailed him pictures of the fuel gauge that I took when I got the truck and when I returned it to prove that I returned it with the same fuel amount. He then just ignored me and never emailed me back again. Horrible customer service and scammed out of 80 dollars. Will tell everyone I know to never use this terrible service.
David SThey have great hours so was able to collect from an actual person at 0600!!! That is great. The van had an a/c issue so it was a bit uncomfortable but the van ran well and did it's job. I was able to drop off at 11pm and still speak with someone. Perfect!!
john sI was overcharged and the store only had 1 non English speaking associate. I stayed on the phone for over 50! minutes waiting to speak with Uhaul. Never got to speak to anyone. Very disappointed in Uhaul. Never again.
