I was not aware that my rental was contingent on another customer returning the truck (1:15 return time for my 1:30 rental) The truck was an hour late, which threw off my plans greatly - the regional call centre team were great, as was the location agent. I did not enjoy having to pay extra because our move took longer than expected thanks to a late truck delivery. Only rent in the morning is the way forward I supposeDerek R.

After returning the vehicle. I received another email showing that another transaction was made on my credit card. I refuelled the vehicle before returning it $10. Didn't quite moved it to half but very close. Next day saw that another $28,5 was put in. So $38,5 in total for 24 miles driven. Kind of ridiculous! I felt taken and over charged! Not very happy. Also was charged for late return? I originally requested the vehicle for 12 hours not 6! So I thought I had until 12AM at the latest considering I rented it at 12:30PM. We were disappointed that the location was closed when we returned the truck at 4:52 on Sat, May 21st resulting in a $20 charge being added to our rental. We were told that if we returned it by 5 pm there would not be a charge. As they closed early, it doesn't seem right that we should have to pay the charge. We also left a message on the answering machine confirming the time and we were still charged. At this point, we will not recommend this location. We also took a picture of the gas and ensured we filled it to the amount and $16 was charged. I can understand how the gas might be slightly different in some cases, but if a location closes early it's not right to charge the $20 extra fee. Julie Fitzgerald.Martin F.
Hello I always have great service at this location. I returned the truck after hours and did self check out but there was no padlock for roll up door so I kept rented blankets and will return Tuesday when they open. I didn't want to risk theft as it's an area for that.CHARMAINE L.

This location saved our move after Uhaul repeatedly screwed me over. Not once, but twice tried to reschedule our 9 am reservation for 3pm, once at a location that was 45 minutes away, and once to 3:30pm with a drop off time of 5:15am leaving a message the night before the move half an hour before their scheduling office closed. Each time they told me that a reservation was only a 'preference' and did absolutely nothing to help. By the time I called back I was told I would have to wait until the scheduling office opened again at 7 am the next morning to call around and see what they had available. Thank god I didn't and booked this location as a backup, since the woman on the phone the next morning did not try at all and was outright rude and condescending telling us that there was nothing available in the entire lower mainland. No alternatives were offered, no apologies, no effort was made, and she lazily offered a $50 credit which never showed up on my account. She did absolutely nothing and did not care at all and we would have been completely screwed on our moving day if we relied on Uhaul. Despite being more expensive and more inconvenient, I will always be booking with one of their competitors from now on, since this is far from the first time this hs happened and they have done absolutely nothing to indicate that they care at all about completely screwing people over. Thank you to this independent location for offering the absolute bare minimum service of a guaranteed reservation, and not allowing customers to repeatedly book trucks that do not exist. After years of using Uhaul, their service has gone massively downhill and there is no way in hell I'll be relying on them again in the future.Tessa H.
Gas was Syphoned out of the truck so we picked it up on E. The truck was extremely filthy (not acceptable especially with COVID) and other trucks had the driver windows smashed out. I will never use a truck from here again. The price I paid was absolutely outrageous for the condition the truck was in and no customer service.Jennifer W.

The desk person I spoke with was fine. The vehicle was filthy. There was empty coffee cups, empty chip bags, dirty masks, and dirty gloves in the door compartments and console. Vehicle ran perfectly fine. My ONLY complaint was the vehicle was filthy inside.Bryan C.

My guaranteed reservation was not met as the truck was not returned by previous customer on time. The uhaul attendant wasn't too interested in helping me figure out where it was and if it was even going to be available that day at all. He said he phoned uhaul and got no answer and if the truck showed up today he would give me a call. I phoned uhaul and confirmed the trucks return time and pick up point myself after an hour on the phone. Now pick up time is hour and a half before closing 5 hours late and I have to return truck after hours and pay a fee extra 20 bucks.Not sure I understand what guaranteed reservation is. Was bad enough we (5 person crew) were delayed 5 hours but then we got charged extra for it too.Jeffrey K.

To whom it may concern, I have rented several trucks from U-Hall in the past but we have had the worst ever experience renting this truck from U-Hall. We reserved this truck back on Feb 01 for Feb 25 move date Order # 27851447. I received a text message and email Saturday Feb 26 at 7:02am PST and both telling us the 15' truck we had reserved would be ready for our scheduled pick up time of 11am PST at a NEW location on Topaz in Victoria. We left on the 9am PST Ferry from Vancouver. When we arrived at the Topaz location, and after 1 hour wait in line, we were told that time our truck was not available and they had nothing to offer us. We were flabbergasted and confused how this could happen. The U-Hall staff at Topaz started to call other locations to see what they had for trucks with little to no luck and offering us a cargo van which could not possible fit the contents we had ordered the 15' for. The extreme stress and emotional panic to myself, my wife and our son not knowing how we were going to move his belongings out of his suite, which he had given notice for the next day was undescribable. We also had paid for a scheduled 7pm PST ferry for the 15' truck that we now didn't know if we were going to make. After a Â½ hour or more finally they located a 20' truck on Boys Road in Duncan which was approx. 65 -70 km away in the wrong direction which had no option but to accept and left right away to go pick up. U-Hall had added 200KM and a return date of March 01 to our contract 27851447 at no extra charge. We were able to make the 7pm Ferry but the truck size exceeded our reservation and we had to pay an extra $100 to get the truck on the Ferry. We unloaded the truck the next morning Sunday Feb 27 and I had my wife contact U-Hall to get the truck dropped of for 2pm that day as the extra 2 days was of no value to us. I am now shocked that I have received another invoice for $67,2 which includes $40 extra day?? $20 afterhours service plus taxes?? This is completely unjustified and unacceptable. I am expecting a full credit the $67,2 extra charges. And for all the stress and emotional grievance your company has caused my family I am also asking for the full credit amount of $352,73 from the first invoice. These were your mistakes and not anything we did and I expect this to be rectified with out contest. This was the worst location I have used for U-Haul. The person at the counter was rude and showing me attitude. I was tempted to canceled my reservation and delay moving because of the bad customer service! If you need more details, call me.OMEGA D.
Truck had a cut fuel throat, so I couldn't add gas. This happened the previous night so nobody knew until the previous renter called it in. Perhaps having extra trucks so that you can inspect each one before sending it back out. Because of this I could only do 1 trip and had to take my smaller personal vehicle back and forth a few times to finish up.Chris K.

Make sure cab interior is clean and sanitized. The check in process is confusing and if you are late can't complete the process. Checkout is just as bad . Won't rent from uhaul if this doesn't get fixedrob C.

The person at the counter is quite rude. I was originally supposed to pick up my UHaul from 96th AVE, Surrey branch. I was later informed to coordinate with the Maple Bridge branch, the lady mentioned she added the miles to make up for the additional distance. When I contacted the branch, the person answering the phone flatly said there is no 15 footer available for Saturday. I called the U haul call centre back and was received by another rude agent, I believe her name was Samer (Arabic sounding lady). I asked her why the runaround despite having booked the UHaul well in advance. She said booking does not guarantee a vehicle and the same needs to be confirmed a day before. I was forced to take a 15 footer on Friday from the maple bridge branch and had to incur 2 days cost. I go back to the maple bridge branch to grudgingly pick up the vehicle despite only needing it the following day. The person at the counter made me sign the tablet and showed me the vehicle with less than half tank gas (I have a picture showing the mileage and gas level when I took the vehicle). What I didn't realize is he had marked the gas level as half in the agreement. Unfortunately, he made me sign the agreement before showing the vehicle. Before returning the vehicle to the AAA branch on Fraser highway, I topped the gas to the level of when I received the vehicle. Despite this, I was forced to pay an additional $26 for gas. Lastly, I had included a dolly for rent but the guy at the maple bridge branch said he had no carts to provide. I am appalled by the ridiculous service on all fronts. At no point of the experience did any of the parties I interacted with sound apologetic or tried to make amends. Everybody either gave me the runaround or simply indicated it was not their business to manage my expectations. What is most disappointing is in all this, only I did my part well by booking the vehicle in advance. The punishment I received was to make up every shortfall in service during the entire process. Absolutely abysmal levels of service and extremely irritated with the whole experience.Binny K.

I found the check in procedure frustrating. I arrived 15 minutes utes before my rental time but it took me 45 minutes before I could drive away. I didn't receive or couldn't find the combination for the lock to open the back and was on hold for customer service for 15 minutes. Someone at the location looked up my code but then I couldn't open the lock because I didn't know about the small lever used to open it. When I returned the truck I followed the directions for "return my truck" but I was charged $20 for after Hours service fee. On the positive side the $20 fee was refunded promptly and the customer service rep extended my rental time due to the difficulty at the start of the rental. Overall a positive experience but a little frustrating getting started.Ken B.

Inside of cab was filthy, fluids hadn't been checked and was almost out of wiper fluid. Pretty sure hi-beams weren't working properly, lock for back didn't work. Vehicle made some pretty weird sounds when hitting the gas at around 90km/hTREVOR S.

We were shocked at how absolutely terrible the reception service was. The guy at the desk at Fix4Less had a terrible attitude from the get-go. We simply asked where our reserved dolly was as we can't do the move with the u-haul without one. The guy said they don't have any dollys. And I said really? We need it to move large appliances and there's no way we can do that by hand. He said we'll you can use the appliance dollys then. Are those not dollys? And he kept talking in a snarky tone as if we were beneath him. We were utterly disappointed. It was the first time ever using U-haul and it gave us a sour taste in our mouth.Joshua W.
