I wouldn't recommend or rent from U-Haul ever again. What U-Haul made out to be a simple rental process was terrible. My rental paperwork wasn't ready, the online application wouldn't accept my check in and so on. Never again will I rent From U-Haul.

The van was fine but the costumer service at the gas station was not good. i will not rent from this gas station again, though I will rent from uhaul again for sure.

The gas station attendant which was in charge of the rental was very rude ( young Indian/Pakistani guy). The truck had scratches not marked, and fuel was not at the level specified on the rental agreement. When I mentioned that he wouldn't mark it and told me not big deal. What was really upsetting was two things. He was selling me the insurance for $25 with a $500 deductible. I had rented same econoline truck in Streamwood, IL on 9/30 and my insurance was $10 with a $150 deductible. I have insurance but I always protect myself with rentals this time for the first time I declined. When I questioned the price he blamed it on covid nonsense. I returned the truck 3 hrs later ge was still there, he would not take the keys or inspect the truck forced me to do the AFTER HOURS RETURN online. I had the truck from around 3pm to 6 pm and the place closes at 9pm. He was just a nasty person. No I will not recommend this location at all I will rather drive to a different facility and pay more miles than dealing with a misogynistic man. UHaul should not be represented by that Marathon Gas station. Bathroom at gas station had no running water to wash your hands, no toilet paper, and we are in a middle of a pandemic. Just completely dissatisfied.

When I ordered the Van, I declined insurance. Thinking that they would honor that, as I have my own insurance, they instead wrote it into the contract. As a result, I now have to go through the hassle of asking U-Haul for a refund of the cost of the insurance.

Have the vehicle ready when it's supposed to be ready (including extra equipment being rented). I could not use the app to complete the transaction because the extra equipment was not ready — they were using it in the convenience store to move merchandise. This led to unnecessary delay and frustration.

It's after the fact so I do not expect anything to be done. After leaving the facility I noticed that the fuel gage read 5/8 not the 7/8 as stated on my bill. My fault for not checking it earlier. The smell inside the van was strong and almost smelled like meat. I believe the smell was actually the rubber sheeting used to protect the floor. The van was pretty new being a 2018 with 2100 miles on it when I picked it up. The passenger seat had dirt/sawdust on it. An old contract was stashed in center hump console.

This individual had no interest in helping me. When I told him I was dropping off he told me he could not find my contract and that I was on my own. He seemed bothered by me being there. When I called Uhauls contact us #, I sat on hold for 10 minutes. When I finally got someone; she redirected me to an insurance automated operator asking what kind of claim I was submitting. I was very confused. Finally I did the self return with your website. NO ONE from uhaul was helpful in the return process. This location is busy and small, which is not an ideal combination for people renting LARGE trucks and trying to maneuver. I'll be exploring other options next moving day but I sure won't be coming back here. I have no idea why I couldn't drop my truck off where I had requested to in the first place.

The experience of picking up the truck was a roller coaster ride of ANXIETY. THe first location that I was scheduled to pick up equipmentat did not have it. THe guy was dismissive and NO ONE called to tell me that they did not have it. THe guy did not even appologize that he had us driving all the way out there. Scheduling was difficult in the first place. The price went up during the process. I had to update a few times; but never got any confirming email. Nothing had saved. So between Monday and Wednesday, I had called someone at Uhaul 7 times and got passes around to more people. When a problem arose, no one would take any credit. Finally, I got to talk to Tonya who found me a truck and trailer IN Morton, Grove.. {Back 30-40 minutes in the other direction}. We got there and he did not have the reservation. Someone else had gone into the system and changed my reservation to another location AGAIN. The guy at the location wanted to charge me more to pick up at his location. I called and luckily got TONYA again. She went in and found that My reservation had been moved again. {this is now two hours later that I needed to have been done.} Tonya saved the day and got everything sorted out and kept me from having a break down. I made it to McHenry to get my car in the nick of time. So, we went and loaded up the truck and was able to leave that night. However we got in at 2am and it made it all a really LONG DAY. Stressful day. Had been a stressful week. In the end it was TONYA that made it all OK. We Cleaned the back of the truck and the cab. Hubby swept it out and we pulled parts of furniture and water bottles OT of the cab. The guy at the gas station was nice enough to come out to help us hook up the trailer. He was busy and kept taking other people in front of me. It might have been OK if the Fiasco had not set us back a few hours. We had already had to spend driving a few hours around. I was already upset. I really can not speak much about how he handled things. It was Tonya that went in to fix everything. She helped to calm me down and make everything right. She went in to fix things. I am not sure what he would have been able to do anything for us. I am grateful that Tonya was on the other side of the phone. She ROCKS and DESERVES A HUGE RAISE. If it was not for her and Mr Effinger, I would not have used UHAUL again. I have had bad experiences, EVERY OTHER TIME. THe mirror on the truck was not usable as it vibrated, it kept moving back. I had to have my hubby tell me if I could get over. We wiped things down there was something sticky on the dash. We. Had to Sweep out the back of the truck, and clean up. There was a crazy Vibrating noise that would happen when we would accelerate if the steering wheel was turned a little. I am not sure what it was. It didn not happen if we were just driving around town.. It made me nervous. Hubby thought it was a heat shield. IDK. I will call

Took a long time to pickup and they couldn't figure out that I was picking up trailer tomorrow even though it was in the notes. Then when I came to pickup the trailer the guy didn't know what to do either and took 30 minutes for him to call someone else that wasent picking up. Then guy couldn't move a truck out of the way because he didn't have a license. Luckily I was able to squeekze the trailer and truck out of their tiny parking lot. Then he didn't know how to hook up the trailer and it came off the ball as soon as I pulled out. Tightening up the ball was the one thing I didn't do myself. Luckily I hooked up the chains properly and was able to lift the trailer myself or the trailer would have been damaged. If I have to use uhaul again I will make sure it is an actual location and not one of these outside businesses.

Poor service, attendant was arguing with me about gas. I drove 18 miles and put 2.5 gallons in, and he said it wasn't enough.

The vehicle's windshield was covered in ice, frost, and snow. The owner should of at least removed the ice from the windshield for safety reasons.

the person who took my reservation was a very poor listener. I explained several times that we needed the van until late Saturday afternoon, trying to correct her on how long the rental would be, but somehow she still got it wrong.

They only had 1 van and 2 trucks. Are there more parked somewhere else? I would worry they would not have my reservation ready. I feel more comfortable with the large U-Haul centers. This was a gas station that also had the trucks in their lot as a side business perhaps. He also used a different credit card reader so was clearly not part of the Mobil gas station.

Picking up was an absolute pain. I was not aware of the 10 foot truck now having a ramp. The employee dos not let me know that. Wanted to switch to the 15 foot and that process took about 45 minutes. I called Uhaul customer service and they couldn't, or didn't want to, help. The employee at this location did not know what to do and kept saying Uhaul needed to void the transaction to start a new one. Finally, something went through and I got what I needed minus the furniture dolly since they didn't have one in stock (I reserved for it). The truck was dirty. Main cabin was okay but there was grass and leaves all over the main truck. I had to clean it so the attendant didn't think I made the mess. Returning was even worse. This next attendant was not properly trained, and that isn't his fault. He kept getting an error message, called a few people, and hey couldn't help. Finally, after 40 minutes, I had to help him go through the steps and noticed that he kept marking me down as not returning the regular dolly even though I handed it to him directly (he didn't know what a dolly was). Once I helped him, it finally went through. I have never had an issue with Uhaul when renting from an actual Uhaul location. I will never use a third party site again. They have no idea what they are doing and don't care about the customers. It was so bad I may never want to use Uhaul again.

I believe that the employee who rented the uhaul to me and the owner who I returned the uhaul back to, need a better method of communicating with each other. I wasn't fully explained the various policies of the uhaul rental practice. However my gripe is mostly with the customer service that provided by Mr. Majed Khan, there are ways to inform a customer of what needs to happen when returning the uhaul. I understand that the gas needs to be at a full tank when returning the uhaul, however if only a few miles were put on the uhaul and the gas indicator says that it's at a full tank to me as a customer I thought that the gas tank was full. However, the way you barked the order at me to fill the couple bucks of gas was not necessary. Even after I filled the tank to your desired amount which made the uhaul gas tank to be overfilled, I still received poor customer service. Lastly, the rate listed on the truck and the one listed on my bill did not match which is also disconcerting and makes me think that there is a larger organizational issue at this location.

The service was great, I parked my car there while using the U-haul truck. The location however, was not one of the cleanest (the bathroom was a mess) although the staff was pretty polite and transparent. Overall I would rate this experience as a good one.

Very crowded location, staffed by 1 employee helping gas station customers and running around like a madman. Courteous but overwhelmed. Very little parking available. Truck had leaves in cabin, a little dirty.

I give Uhaul as a company "ABOVE AVERAGE" and this location, Marathon, "POOR." This Marathon falsely charged me $80 extra for "returning the vehicle 2 days late" when I went out of my way to return it the same day to the same location--as per their request! I advise you to choose a central Uhaul distributor, not this small gas station. Talk to Uhaul employees directly.. The employees at Marathon (and the so-called representative they report to) are NOT Uhaul-employed and poorly trained. Signing contracts took 1.5 hours, even though I reserved online. 3 phone calls with Uhaul later, I got refunded. I commend Uhaul for being prompt and professional. (I deducted 1 star because they forgot to call me back, so I had to call again.)

Honestly, my entire experience with your company was horrible. To start when I booked my reservation through a phone conversation with your staff in Illinois (her name was Micki and she worked with Sharon in scheduling/traffic) I was assured I would be able to pick up a 15 foot truck on Thursday July 30 from 4800 N. Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL. I was priced at $450 and some change. When I got my reservation it said a 10 foot truck and I immediately called the customer service line back to discuss the 15 foot truck and the representative I spoke with that time (his name was Chris I believe) assured me that while my reservation said 10 foot the notes and approval from the scheduling/traffic department within your system on my reservation ensured that I would get the 15 foot truck come moving day. With such assurances I didn't worry; however I should have. On Wednesday July 29 when I still hadn't received a confirmation call from your company I called to confirm my truck. Not only did the woman I spoke with have no records of the notes put on my reservation but she was short with me about the availability of a 15 foot truck and had changed my pick up location. Luckily it wasn't too much further from the original location. When I got there there was only a 10 foot truck there despite me being assured I would have a 15 foot truck by your staff when I spoke with them on the phone MULTIPLE TIMES. The gentleman at 6000 Oakton St took almost an hour for my reservation to be completed, the inside of the cab of the truck was dirty and it was clear that the previous driver had been chain smoking in it and no one had bothered to clean it up, so my father had to. Due to the fact that I had to move THAT DAY I was forced to take the 10 foot truck. Then when I asked for my drop off location the gentleman at 6000 Oakton St. could not give me the location and I was required to call back later. On top of all of this frustration as I drove around the city of Chicago in the act of moving I saw over 2 dozen 15 foot trucks sitting in uhaul lots waiting to be rented. Instead of using one of the trucks that I had been assured would be available, my furniture was terribly scratched and some of it ruined as we tried to fit everything into a truck that was too small. Then when I do call back to get my drop off location the gentleman at 6000 Oakton Street told me I could drop it anywhere in the Cleveland area that was convenient to me. When I brought it to the location listed in this review the man at that gas station had no record of me bringing my truck there and I had to spend ANOTHER 40 minutes on the phone waiting to talk to your customer service people. Needless to say your company made my move one of the most stressful customer service experiences I have ever had to deal with and I would never recommend this company or its products to a friend, family member, or even someone I didn't like. You don't provide people the products you say you are going to at
