My rental had a check engine light on and ran very rough, additionally, the gas gauge was wonky and fluctuate a lot.
David PAlthough using the Mobile app was convenient, the process wasn't easily maneuvered. After several failed attempts to access. I contacted customer service and was greeted by Travis. His patience, and professionalism was "Over the Top". He is to be commended..thank you Travis.

NADRA AThe uhaul app would not work,so it took almost an hour on the phone trying to get help. App kept saying it couldn't locate our location. The facility was nice,but I wouldn't recommend renting different than their non traditional hours. When you have a day of moving planned,an hour is a long time to waste.

Lee CThis location sent me out with a 6x12 enclosed trailer that had a messed up axle and a tire ready to pop. They have not answered my phone calls and are still trying to charge me for the rental. I had my wife and little kids with me I'm just glad that it didn't cause us to wreck.

Cheyanne SFultondale was closed on Sunday. The app would not let us return it there due to the app showing returning to Bay Minette even though contract said Fultondale. Took lots of pictures and called Fultondale site and left message. They did send email later that day confirming the return.
dennis bWe got there just before the location closed, after not getting our reservation at the location we had originally reserved it at. The staff member there was very sympathetic to the difficulties we'd faced and incredibly helpful, when I know she was ready to go home on a Friday evening.

ANDREA TGive this manager a raise. Office full of customers, people outside needing help, phone ringing, and she's as polite, helpful, and calm to every single one of us. Amazing worker. Several of my neighbors switched from the abusive treatment by carmena (?) at 800 28th St N, Birmingham, to this Fultondale, AL, US 31, and had thought of using Metro Truck Rental or Budget.
ANDREA TThis is the best run uhaul in Jefferson County. Always clean, always ready for your rental needs, always a speedy pickup & dropoff, always a polite and professional office manager. It ads 14 miles to my rental to use the US 31, Fultondale, AL, location, but the uhaul at 800 28th St N, Birmingham, AL, is so horrible to use, I not only don't use it, I tell my neighbors at the neighborhood HOA meetings not to use 28th St N either. This uhaul is less than one mile from our neighborhood. The manager, Carmena is her name I believe, is the nastiest, over aggressive, insulting, argumentative, employee of any company I've ever encountered. She says you stole the handtruck when you never had one in your rental. She charges for gas when the truck is returned with the exact amount of gas in it. She makes you wait for her even if the store is empty and she's not on the phone. This was done to me and to 4 others in my neighborhood. I've urged them to review or call also. Hopefully, she can been transferred to some other uhaul or at the very least, retrained. My next alternative is to report this 28th St., North U-Haul to my 2478 friends on Facebook. Please do something about it we don't enjoy paying an extra $30 because of her bad behavior.
ANDREA TIf it is not broken, and it is not, don't fix it. Associate was excellent and my experience was above average.

ADRIEN TKeep the manager, Carmena, at UHaul Uptown, 800 28th St N, Birmingham AL. That will bring many more customers to this perfectly run and managed location. The Fultondale UHaul kept me from switching to Metro Truck Rental, after the horrific abuse from Carmena.

Angus FOur issue was with the uhaul online set up. We signed up and chose a location in Gardendale called Moore Storage, our email reservation confirmation showed Moore Storage. We were supposed to receive a phone call from someone with Uhaul Thursday night to confirm the location and time with us for Saturday at 8am. No one called. We did the online check in and it said Moore Storage so my husband drove there and when he clicked "pick up my truck" it changed the location to Fultondale Mini Storage. I tried to call the customer service number and sat on hold. He finally just went to fultondale mini Storage. It was incredibly frustrating to have to change locations for no reason (Moore Storage had the correct rental we had requested, however our uhaul account wouldn't let him check in there.)
Charles CWe originally selected Vestavia as our pick up location because it's closer to home but we were moved to this location because of availability. The lady who helped us was so kind and efficient. I wish I knew her name but she was great, much better than the experience we've ever had at Vestavia.
