The rear gate to the truck had ice. I could not open it before I rented it and had to use a hammer at home to take ice off rear deck so that I could open rear door

The U-Haul website allowed us to reserve a standing dolly + a furniture dolly, both of which we needed for the items we were moving. Unfortunately, this location doesn't have ANY dollies of either kind. So, on moving day, we were really scrambling to come up with other options. NOT GOOD. This is U-Haul issue; not the local provider. Also, the cargo van we rented is very new. We wish we had known from U-Haul that the controls for the headlights are separate from the taillights. Driving a van in fog at night with NO REAR LIGHTS created unnecessary risks for our family.

This truck had not been properly maintained. When we picked it us it was dirty inside and out. When we were driving home we noticed the oil light was on. We called the location and they said it would be just fine. When we took it back and insisted that they check it out. The oil was 2 1/2 quarts low. They also topped off the antifreeze and windshield fluid. The windshield wipers were so bad the driver side wiper had etched the windshield. We were really disappointed.

Ordered a 26' box truck and was told I would have to goto Melrose park 27 miles away . What a joke yeah let me put 50 + miles and waste almost a hour of my time cause you screwed up my booking. I also called and asked for a furniture dolly to be added wich guy on the phone said no problem. Get there and no dolly pretty diaspointed in that I had to buy my own. Nothing to do with the place I got it from all on uhaul side

If the location does NOT have the equipment ordered, please let the customer know before the pick-up time. This was incredibly inconvenient and caused so much delay on the move that I ended up needing the truck longer to properly secure my items. What an added stressor to my move that was unnecessary. The only way Uhual could supposedly help me was to give me a credit on my next rental. This is terrible customer service. As I stated to 2 different employees on the phone this is the second time this has happened to me. In May moving my son from school the same shortage of pads occurred and I figured it was a communication error but Uhual truly needs to look into this as I wondering is this occurring on a regular basis????

Mr. Gill only did the contract. My nightmare started before we even got the truck loaded at a very costly move. At fault here are the field reps delivering U-Haul Equipment to your dealers. This truck without a doubt wasn't checked out properly the tag number note's to be a one way and that's what bought it to me. just a U-Haul with 2/32 to 3/32 on the rear tires left inner flat outer going flat.Trailer running lights shorting out blew the fuse twice. Call roadside for what to put on hold if they answer. It took 41/2 hours for the tire repair people to come. Bigger problem is if your U-Haul people were doing the proper preventive maintenance you could've saved a road call. and gave my family a safer vehicle to drive a 1000 mile's. A overdrive transmission that was shifting properly costing a lot more in fuel cost. A truck that wonder all over the crown in the road. Hay Joe sorry for asking for your best truck. you picked a winter I got push over from a crazy driver the crown on the curb side of the road she wonder right down to the guardrail thanks for a few extra days It sure wasn't worth the grieve or the cost M.Bradley

Where I pick up was ok .but it was the reservation that got canceled on me and did not get an email or a call. Found out the day to pick up I had nothing .had to be out of my place by 1st , be down to Tennessee. Have new job start Monday I was glad that they where able to fine me a truck .and the trailer I had to pick up on the day of moving .so I did not get to move out till sat afternoon .I think I should get some kind off refund for what uhaul did to me on the day i needed my truck which was Friday.

My interaction with Gills Automotive for this rental went above and beyond; However my experience with UHaul and the truck was drastically different. I showed up prior to Gills opening to pick up the truck which was supposed to have a key in a lock box and the box was empty. The truck had lots of garbage inside the cab, a broken windshield, and the fuel level gauge said 1/4 tank. After leaving and coming back an hour later once Gill's opened, I was able to get a key and was told that they would note the cleanliness on the the account. Upon driving the vehicle the engine had an off-idle misfire which made for a tough day in the wind on the highway. Upon returning the vehicle and trying to return via the UHaul website, UHaul tried to charge me to clean the truck when I checked the box that truck was not clean enough to rent to the next customer. I went inside to Gills and he made everything right and apologized for my experience with the truck. Highly recommend Gills, hardly recommend UHaul unless you get a newer or better maintained truck

Fast service was great. Staff was professional. Truck had a bad wiper on a rainy day and broken window handle. Was charged $20 more than quoted even after adding gas to truck. Milage was not part of my contract.
