The van itself was in good order and was the right tool for the job. This location sucks. It opens at 9:30, but you can't even get started on signing out the vehicle until 10:00. The people who work there won't let you park on the property despite there being plenty of room. If I wasn't able to call in a favor with a place I volunteer at nearby, I wouldn't have been able to leave my car. We paid for moving blankets but they weren't there, the person helping me claimed they weren't in the contact, even though I paid for them. I had to go to a different location to get them, only to wait around for 15 min just for them to tell me to go back outside and grab a pile off the rack. Basically every person I interacted with associated with UHaul for this trip was entirely useless. Absolutely will not be renting from this location again. Maybe I'll try Home Depot.
Graham StewartThe U-Haul website allowed me to book a van starting on Friday afternoon to be returned on Sunday afternoon. The problem is that this location is closed on Sunday, and they lock the gates, so while I was able to BOOK for two days, I wouldn't be able to return it on time because the location is closed. The person at the counter was great, considering she was put in a tough spot. The shop also closes at 6pm (again, locked gates) which meant I had to take time off work on Monday in order to actually return it. Secondly, both the site and the van itself advertises that you can order and book a vehicle from your phone. Nope. Not an option in this case. I guess that was good because I would've showed up on Sunday to locked gates and no where to drop the keys. While I booked the van for pickup around noon on Friday, I couldn't make the pickup until around 1 (that's fine, I'll pay for that hour, no problem), but instead I got a call asking if I was still interested in the rental after around 15 minutes. This seemed like they were trying to rent the van to someone else, hoping I'd cancel the booking. Felt weird. All in all, I'll go back to the Car Share service instead.
