Make sure your customers order is correct. My order didn't have appliance dolly or blankets in truck ready. I had to drive to another location to pick it up. No appliance dolly available as order, only utility dolly availableMarcus A.

My rental was moved from Portsmouth, VA to this location at the last minute. Man called me and apologized there would be be no furniture blankets and the rental was being changed to an online check-in. No one was on-site when I arrived and took awhile to figure out the lockbox and online check-in system. There was an old building with glass windows and I could see a large stack of furniture blankets despite being told they weren't available. The interaction with the proprietor was unsatisfying. He came across as too lazy to be at the location in person to help. Told me to drive to the Mercury location to get the furniture blankets.ROBERT M.

The location was supposed to be open but it was closed , the guy on the phone at establishment seemed unprofessional and forwarded me to uhaul service line where she directed me to check in mobile to get the key . The app was not working , took several attempts to submit pictures through the website . Was not a smooth experience as I expected from previous rentals thru this company . I believe it's because I went to someone who had uhaul trucks but was not a actual uhaul place . Location was also sketchy and glad I returned the truck before dark . 10/10 would not recommend this location to anyone . I know now to book ahead of time at a actual uhail location.lenore B.

Truck wasn't cleaned, and was missing all of my rental equipment so I had to wait 45 minutes for a rep to arrive. They then shorted me half of the blankets I had reserved.Michael K.
Honestly I don't know if there is anything that can be done about this place! This wasn't not my first uhaul rental but definitely was the worst one! Store was closed at the he pick up time even though we have mentioned that we chose the go to the counter! 2 hours on the phone trying opening the lock box with provided key by the operator, nothing works ! Another customer coming and claiming the same lock box. She couldn't open the box neither , she called a friend of hers to come and help. He showed up after 10 minutes and forceful opened the box and got the key and placed the lock on the box and done!!! We were standing there waiting on the phone . Finally we decided to go to a counter on Mercury blvd. . Brianna was who helped us very professional and we rented another moving truck . That was to that day then I see two charges to my bank accounts and I after das that I have been calling and nobody literally nobody is getting back to me, I am given the district manager phone number, who calls and accuses me of using two trucks!! The one that we never could get to the key in Pembroke Ave. and the one that we drove 13 miles. He couldn't answer my questions!! I asked him if we drove the first truck tell me who signed in the drop off paperwork because I knew who signed off on the second paperwork and his name was DeShawn Thompson, he couldn't give me any evidence just that truck was driven 18 miles but who drove it!! Not usâ€¦ He was extremely rude and disrespectful. I appreciate asking for feedback, I have had a lot of good experiences with uhaul but my daughter it was her first time and she was very disappointed. After bed by rude to me he refunded the money even though I haven't still received it in the bank. I am wondering why did he refund me because his last sentence was ma'am I charge you for both trucks!!!' Super unprofessional and unbelievable nasty!! Had 3 different pickup locations changes, truck drove like a tank, told manager when picked up truck was using personal credit card for pickup deposit wanted final bill on my business card which i did not have with me at the time he said no problem, made 5 phone calls to pay with business card with no success so today u processed my personal card for payment, have rented many times from Mercury Blvd location NEVER a problem. The Pembroke location does not have regular hours or good customer service will never use that location again uhaul corporate should review that franchise agreement because it does not meet uhaul standards of other locations that i have dealt with in Va. and Florida over the last 20 yearsThomas P.
My experience was horrible. This online check in is very complicated. There were no workers at the location (good news Field service on pembroke) all day. I was charged for 2 services, one a dolly that wasn't on the truck and a 14 pkg I didnt select. Returning was just as complicated. After almost 2hrs trying to upload a pic, i called cs which was very helpful. Just so happen while sitting there a guy by the name of William i believe shows up towing a car. Each time i called the store number he's answered. He took everything as a joke i felt. They are horrible. I will never again do an online pu/return. Worst experience of my life. I have more to complain about, but I'll stop right here.Charonia M.

The location was closed at 4 pm on a Friday when I dropped off my truck!!!! Not sure why, Uhaul website shows open until 7 pm. I returned the truck with same level of gas as pick up, but they charged me $10 for 2 gallons. I have photo of gas gauge to prove the return level and tried to send to the location, but their email is invalid. I tried to call the location, but the number is invalid. I expect a refund or cancellation of the gas charge within 24 hours, or I will contact the credit card to block the charge.Heikki U.

The location at Good News Field Services 1936 E Pembroke Ave Hampton, VA 23663 does nothing but give U-Haul a bad name. It was closed in the middle of the day and looked like an abandoned derelict building. It had no indication it was a U-Haul drop-off location other than the key drop-box. The manager claimed the truck was returned with only 1/4 tank of gas before it became apparent that he never looked at the truck. Now he admits the gas tank was full but instead the appliance dolly is now missing. I'm still in the process of my move and I will be needing more truck rental service.but because of this cheating and lies by a U-Haul rep, I'll be looking into a competitor next time.Chris M.
They were supposed to be open, but were not. It was our first expo with renting a U-Haul and the return of the equipment was confusing and complicated. Wish they were open and it would have been a better experience.Vicki E.
I showed up to get the truck and they didn't even have keys for the truck. I waited over an hour for the owner/operator to show up to resolve it, but he didnt help. He told me to call Traffic to figure out what to do. After calling for hours I finally got a hold of someone. I drove 45 minutes to a different location to get a spare key for the truck, and then 45 minutes back. The key didnt work. 7 hours into this ordeal Uhaul finally calls a locksmith out to make a key on site amd I get into the truck. Long story short, I missed out on my only day to pack my house up because I was dealing with Uhaul and ended up paying for another day in rent ( $70). I also reserved a dolly, but that wasnt in the truck. Luckily the distant end refunded that fee.Thomas T.
