I ordered moving blankets and the man said they didn't have any and I would have to drive to another location to get them. He refused to call the other location to confirm that they had blankets saying "I'm too busy". He refused to walk around the truck with me to confirm the truck's condition. The contract said the gas tank was 3/8 full when it was only 1/8 full. There were several scratches on the truck that were not marked. The experience was horrible and the man was very rude. I'm writing a Yelp and Google review telling everyone how bad this place is.james B.

Wow, something is really wrong with this location. 2nd time I could NOT check in the trailer . Personnel said they would do it , but did not. UHaul 800 call number sucks, 45 to 2 hr wait times. I was very disappointed that the moving items I reserved well in advance were not available. I reserved blankets and two furniture dolleys, and only one was available and no blankets. What is the system here? No one cared or apologized, I had to purchase other items to make up for not having that equipment and the move went slower because of not having the dolley.Michelle P.

The guy who helped me just grabbed my key and walked away with no explanation. Then never closed out my rental. I had to call customer service 2 times in order to get it resolved. Very poor experience. Truck was dirty, with items in the back, food debris in the cabin, and napkins on the dashboard too. Steering wheel was sticky, and the cabin generally was not clean. Also, this site checked me out as a full tank of gas...when I got in the truck I stopped by the representative and through his window from the trailer office...I shared that the gas was just above 1/2 a tank, and was not full. He verbally acknowledged that, but he had it on the contract as a full tank of gas. I had also reserved a few dozen moving blankets. This location had none, and I had to drive to another location to acquire the needed blankets. And on top of that the truck had a roof leak, that got a number of my boxes wet.Paul F.

My truck had garbage from previous use and was all dirty inside and had no gas. I was in the rush and asked for another trust with reasonable amount of fuel inside and was told that they had no truck with gas! I don't understand at all ! I paid for insurance on the move. The ridiculously expensive trailer to rent I got leaked and ruined furniture of mine. Apparently the insurance doesn't cover what I wanted to insure. I also paid for roadside assistance just to eliminate that concern as well. My car broke down a quarter of a way through my cross country trip. Not only would they not help with my car, they wouldn't even tow my trailer to a safe space while my car was fixed. My advice, go somewhere else. U-Haul is a massive rip off.David K.

More info when renting a trailer would be helpful. Unless I made the mistake, I didn't realize I needed the extra equipment. My suburban comes with the hitch. I assumed, (shame on me) that the trailer would hook into it. When speaking to the folks at U-Haul corporate I wasn't told of this or at least corrected. Thank you. This location has no equipment other than trucks. I was not told this by anyone until I got there to pick up the truck. The truck they gave me had LESS than the 1/4 of a tank they told me it had. When I turned on the truck the gas light was on. Had to rush to a gas station hoping the truck didn't run out of gas. Finally I was told, rather impolitely, that I need to park the truck in the back of the building when there is a literal sign telling me to park the truck where I did. Worst U-Haul experience I've ever had and it seemed like this location genuinely doesn't care about maintaining your equipment or reputation. Will be avoiding this location at all cost.Jared L.

The customer service was short and rude. Not helpful in problem solving an error on Uhual-end. Chose this location, 700 W Erie, specially reserved 2 dollys and was told upon arrival that there were no dolly's at this location. The employee's response was not helpful and his solution was to cancel the truck order or move without the requested dolly. Location was a bit sketchy. I also reserved a furniture dolly and during pick-up they said that location did not offer furniture dollys. This really should have been indicated to me ahead of time because my specific move required a furniture dolly. Price was also higher than expected. They say â€œ19,99 $â€ per day, but once you add CDW, mileage and fees, ended up at 140 $for a 9' truck, 100 mile round trip for 3 hours. Seek elsewhere.Nicholas J.
I reserved a truck ~2 weeks in advance to include a TV box, mattress covers, furniture dolly, and furniture pads. The location had nothing available except the truck. They told me "too bad" about not having anything I pre ordered available. I spent 1,5hr extra buying these things at Home Depot to get my move done. This was the worst Uhaul experience ever. Subsequent to walking and driving the property for several minutes looking for a representative, an individual popped up out of nowhere. Not sure who this individual was, I asked him several times for his name. He refused each time to give his name and would not say if he was a Uhaul reprentative. I was at the property at approximately 2:55 pm on October 28, 3020. Attempted to close out the contract online. Repeated errors with the location. My paper copy indicates a drop off location of 665 N. Halsted Street Chicago, Illinois 60654. The young man refused to assist in the close out process. Unprofessional as well as a total lack of customer service. I wasted approximately two hours attempting to close out the contract on October 28, 2020. At 4:51 pm on October 28, 2020 I called the site (312 235-1094) and spoke with Payman? He was not forthcoming with his name as well. Customer service was not privy to our conversation. He was not around when I attempted to close out the contract earlier in the afternoon, yet he stated that his guy was willing to help. If his guy was willing to help, I wouldn't wasted an afternoon. I have pictures of the interior, exterior, storage compartment and the actual mileage. The truck mileage was 54 732 and the interior condition was clean. I received an email from Payman Parsa indicating a charge of 25,00 $ for cleaning. The truck was clean (interior), I will dispute this charge. Erica, Uhaul Customer Service indicated the picture shows a stain on the passenger side window, this is fraud and retaliation for me responding to rude and unprofessional behavior. The next false claim on behalf of this dealer(?) is the mileage, the truck was delivered with the mileage of 54,732. Erica, Customer noted the mileage was 54,742. What did these guys do to this truck while driving 10 additional miles. The false cleaning bill indicated a drop off location of 700 West Erie Street Chicago, IllinoisRobert C.
I have ordered 2 dozens of moving blankets but the person responsible from the location told me that I was 30 min late and he gave the moving blankets to someone else. Which put me in a though spot to go find moving blankets from somewhere else. And eventually, the same location found some blankets again and I had to go back to the same location, loosing 1 hour.metin O.

Only had 1 of 2 boxes, never notified us or the movers, had no explanation or way of fixing it, our move was delayed by 2 days and we were out an obscene amount of money from Uhaul's mistake.
