Have the vehicle ready, at the scheduled time of pick up. Automate the system. I did not like to have my credit card # being verbally relayed over the phone. Have the truck out front of the building instead of un the back. Have the vehicle staged for appropriate move as opposed to being parked between two other trucks. The process to obtain a truck is inadequateâ€¦the cashier (Ms. P) must call her boss for him to confirm/approve the rental. She explained to me it's because this location does not have the Uhaul tablet to view confirmations of rentals. When I arrived there were 2 other customers waiting for the boss to approve their rental. The wait time of this process caused customers to become angry/yelling. The overall experience was unbelievable!Mark S.

When I went to the reservation location at a local storage facility as stated in my reservation and pressed the "Ready to pickup" button in the app, the loading icon appeared for a few seconds before the page froze. I restarted the app twice and had the same issue. I then went onto the website and logged in to check on my reservation, but I couldn't find my reservation info anywhere on the page or menu options until I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page. When I finally found my reservation, i found out that the location was at the local storage facility until I started the pickup process, and then saw that the address changed to a different gas station, so I was already late to pickup my truck, which frustrated me since we had to drive a long distance on a time crunch. When I went to the gas station, the app finally worked, but I didn't know that there was going to be an identification section where you needed 2 alternative contacts or a passport to reach out to if you delay returning your truck. I wish this was disclosed earlier in the process because people normally don't drive around with their passports or can find people to answer their phones last minute. If I had known this earlier, I would have probably chosen to do counter service instead to not deal with this hassle.Alec U.

Watch for ants. They were everywhere crawling in and outside of truck especially on passenger side. I sprayed a lot. And during check in if it's 7:30 just say 8:00 bc I couldn't check in via the app until that time. The workers on hand was ready to go.Tyler P.
When I went to pick up the uhaul, there was aman sleeping inside of the cab with an open beer, the inside smelled of weed and cigarette smoke, none of the moving blankets I ordered were there either. It took over an hour to get the vehicle which pushed back my whole day of moving.Jeremy H.

The truck was very dirty from the windows to the windshield was horrible you could barely see. The inside of the truck was a little dirty. The locations who gets these trucks need to wash window so people can see. Other than that everything was fine.Latea G.

The gas station attendant didn't seem to know or understand the process of dropping off the vehicle. We had to park it in the back of the gas station near dumpsters. There was trash everywhereâ€¦even old couches. If I were picking up, I wouldn't have used this location. I have used u-haul several times before, but this was the worst experience yet.LATOYA H.
Once I checked in to pick up my one way truck to Gainesville, GA I found out that the lady set my return destination 30 minutes away from Gainesville! Once I told, her she said that was the default destination picked by uHaul (hard to believe) and I just had to call them to fix it. Once I get in the truck, things got worst. The tank was supposed to be half full and it wasn't and the mileage was wrong... I was able to fix some of the above problems after a call with uHaul, which on moving day, just added unnecessary stress. Do yourself a favor and pick a different location.Alessandro D.

Make sure that there is a complimentary pack of disinfectant wipes and or hand sanitizer available for customers. This would suffice as we are a society who are more cautious than of functioning on a safe and clean environment. Also maybe someone(s) can conduct a monthly or weekly deep cleaning of the cab of the U-Haul truck. This would improve the overall experience and expectations of a client who rents a U-Haul vehicle.Allen H.
In April 12th I was returning a car carrier that I rented from you and on the way to your store I called and reserved a 26 ft truck at the Avalon Pkwy location. When I arrived I was informed that they did not have one available after the agent I had spoken to assured me there was. The lady there found another locally about 15 minutes away. Upon arrival at that location I was told that I would have to wait for 20 minutes until someone text him back as to which truck to give me when there was only one 26ft on the lot. I waited for 25 minutes and the clerk at the Chevron handed me his cell phone and told me I needed to give my credit card info to the person on the other end of the phone. I felt uncomfortable giving my personal info to a complete stranger over a phone but I had already wasted an hour trying to get this truck so I did. I gave him the info and he told me to hand the phone back to the clerk at which point he handed me the keys and said have a nice day. They never gave me instructions nor offered me insurance, just have a nice day. Feeling a bit uneasy still I took it upon myself to take pictures of the vehicle before I even moved it. I signed in to my uhaul acct and noticed they had the gas gauge documented at 3/4 of a tank when in actuality it was a little over 1/2 (see attached photos)mileage 32713. I walked back inside and told the clerk and he said to not worry about it that I would not be charged for the mistake. Before I returned the truck I replaced the gas to where it was and then added another $15 on top of that just to make sure there would be no problem. (Again see attached photo) mileage 32754 and as you can plainly see I put more than was in it originally. I received my receipt in my email and sure enough they charged me $47 for gas. I rent from you guys all the time but this was the most unprofessional place I have ever visited. I spoke to my attorney and he advised to write you first which I am doing and see if you can resolve this matter before I move forward. I am not one who usually complains but this is an outright crook that you have representing your business and I refuse to be taken advantage of by you or this other person. In the back of a chevron station. Clean the truck, wash the truck and have gas in the truck. When I entered the truck it said "4 miles to empty". I have a photo is proof is needed.Michael L.
Truck was mechanically in good condition. Half a tank of gas was sufficient and I refilled what little I used (10miles) but the interior not clean. Used bottle of water in the floorboard, sticky residue over most of the drink holders in the center console area. I expected it to be cleaner as I was expected to return it clean. Lady at the convenience store didn't speak English and made check out difficult. Luckily there was a nice gentleman there to help me. He brought the truck around and helped me do the online checkout on my phone. Not a difficult process but definitely pay attention. Somehow I added â€œSafe moveâ€ to my order which I did not need/want which added $14 dollars to my rental. I would recommend going 2 miles west and using the major U-Haul site at Avalon Way. Also, I wanted to rent a furniture dolly which I added to my order and when I arrived, it was not available at their site. It was not charged to my final bill but I really could have used it in my move and would have been worth the $7 it cost.David L.
The cargo area was clean but up front in the driver area needed cleaning and sanitized. The seats and steering wheel was sticky, and cabin smelt of smoke. In such a time hand wipes should have been provided.Fay H.

The entire experience with the exception of the two locations that called to inform me that they did not have the equipment I ordered online and the two call staff who I spoke to the evening when I found out I could NOT drop off the equipment at the location I identified when making my online reservations. That was the initial inbound call staff and the scheduler I waited 45 minutes online to speak with. The gas station where I was finally able to pick up the equipment was the absolute WORST customer service I've EVER experienced in the 45 years of using UHAUL! I don't think she could understand or speak much English. UHaul's â€œ24/7â€ idea is the most stressful to the customer! I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE UHAUL! Guaranteed!Danielle E.

I waited over 30 minutes for the clerk to verify me and get me my U-Haul. She took several customers that were behind me and was waiting for someone to either come back with the U-Haul or clean the U-Haul out which should have been done prior to me getting it. I would 100 % not recommend this location to a friend. Quite frankly all of the gas station locations in the area are subpar.Takiyah A.
Waited for over 45 minutes to get the truck and when he gave me the truck he handed me the keys and said here you go and I had to jockey the trucks out from each other and when I received the truck I told him about the service engine light was on. The rental was a 15' truck for $29,99 a day plus mileage. I was charged $59,99 per day plus $77 for mileage. The truck was only driven 18 miles. The truck I was assigned online had a flat tire so I had to get a different one but could not adjust the mileage on the website. Also I declined insurance but was still charged $28 for it. I'm extremely dissatisfied with my experience.Josh G.
The woman had absolutely no customer service skills. Not helpful and very rude. I rented the vehicle online and just planned to pick it up to save time being that I had to travel to a different state. She kept pushing my needs aside for her other customers. She charged me for items she didn't even have. I personally don't think that location is good for uhaul rentals. It's already busy on it's own.Chandra H.

The vehicle was dirty inside and out. The passenger sideview mirror was broken , and fixed up with tape and cardboard. The passenger rear park light was busted and did not come on. The lift ramp was broken on one side. When I picked up the vehicle, the attendant did not even come out with me to make sure everything was ok with the vehicle before I pulled off. My info was taken, I was handed a key and told where the vehicle was parked. That is no way to ensure you get repeat customers. I rent U-Haul vehicles all the time, and this is the first time I have EVER experienced anything like this. Very impersonal experience.KerryAnne M.

#1- The trucks are parked in the back of the store, at night it is so dark that you literally can not see you hand in front of your face, not safe at all. #2-the trucks are kept in the back of the store in a very narrow passage which makes it hard to get out and unless you back it all the way around in reverse , if a truck is parked slightly off the curb, no other trucks can fit to drive around. The truck I had to accept because I couldn't wait till the next day (the very reason for me using 24 he share) was filthy â€¦ even had several piles of dog poop in the back that I had to clean out before taking the truck. I was on the phone with a rep during the pick up process and she said although there was no way I could get a different truck because I was using the key pick up from lockbox , if I took the truck a manager would call immediately to discuss everything. Never received a call so I called the next and the day after , it's been 6 days now and still no call back but they for sure charged me 568 dollars for the truck. It was under fuled , nasty, and the ramp was broken. But like I said they absolutely charged me for itSamuel W.

Tank was not full when we picked up truck, got no paperwork upon leaving which later caused a mix up in charging us for gas that we didn't get to start with. The ramp broke and we couldn't get hack in so just pulled out and left in truck. Truck was very uncomfortable. Very unorganized facility. Will use a regular uhaul dealer from now on.Larry B.
Took me an hour to get that truck because they had to call a bunch of People! Truck was blocked in! I paid for a dolly and 12 moving pad which I never got. Door had bolts missing so very difficult to open and close.Michael R.
Only 1 cashier at the gas station and it was Saturday and he was very busy, it took us 40 mins to rent a Truck and Truck was very dirty, very bad cigarette smell etc and we rented late so we returned accordingly, we rented for 6 hours , I requested for 7 hours and they turned around and charged me for 2 days, every time it is a big hassle. Reserved Uhaul at a real uhaul place 2 weeks in advance, come the day, "sorry, we dont have a truck for you", they send me to a gas station that MAY have one down the street. I get there, no uhaul for my reserved time.....2 weeks in advance. I switch and get a 26" truck only because I needed one that day. People usually reserve for a reason. Truck was dirty, melted chocolate in the dash, half eaten burger wrapped up in the dash, no mats or straps. I was forced to pay more for a size truck I didn't need, that's right, no discount for the inconvenience. Even though it clearly states "if we dont have your truck we will give you $50" Horrible experience, will not use uhaul again for a long time. 2 stars because gas station staff was friendly and informative.Zackari G.

I made my reservation 30 days in advance. I went to the 1st location at a gas station, the man there was terrible. I kept trying to do my 24/7 check in & after 2 hours of waiting I called you 1-800 & stayed on hold for along time. Finally speaking to someone was told my scheduling was all wrong. I did get a 26' but ordered a 20' after traveling another 1/2 hr to get it. I was to get my truck at 10 am finally at 1:30 pm drove away with the 26'. Will I use UHaul again? Doubt it!Candace M.

The equipment that I ordered was not at this location and once again I had to go check all the other trucks at this location to see if any of them had the appliance dolly I had ordered, which they did not and I was still charged for it.Matthew S.

I rented the truck and the truck maintenance light was on concerning the tires. I go tell the attendant abt the light. She says it has been on. I told her it doesn't make it right and can she fix it. She said no. So I call 1800 uhaul. They suggested that I put air in it. But I wasn't compensated. When driving in the interstate. The car would pull to the right. It began to rain and the windshield wipers are ripped. The job i attended to do with the truck wasn't done because of my safety. I call 1800 uhaul. They said to ask for a full refund. The attend said the truck was in my possession no matter what. I will be charged. This location on Hampton Rd chevron is blemishing Uhaul reputation by disregard safety and maintenance protocol.Demetria N.
